    I agree.

    D.

The disregard for the offensive line in a deep draft at that position is mind-numbing.

    Brown and Rochell are okay.

    Worst looking draft in years.

Injured players in a year that was difficult to evaluate the health of players?

    Tavon 2.0?

Time will tell of course. But I really hope the genius behind the Rams drafts is not sitting in Detroit.

This is just an initial reaction and would love to be wrong.

For now, I do not feel good about the draft.

My favorite pick so far. Seems athletic and has size and is a need.

    This is nuts!

The Rams do not value #1 picks, obviously.

I would not have done this. I wonder what the cap implications are.

I just don’t think that a divorce from Goff is possible. I read he stands to make $67 million over the next two years.

I would build the line a little bit.

Get healthy. There are still many pieces in place. Akers and Jefferson are bright spots.

    That sucks!

This has become a thing under McVay–trying to replace coaches.

I hear Wade Phillips is available.😀

Sean McVay, when asked about his brief comments about Jared Goff last night: “I’m evaluating everything we do, and that includes the QB position…that’s not exclusive to the QB position.”
And…”I’m not ready to make any sort of statements with regards to ANY starting position”

    Yeah, zn.

I’m just speculating on McVay’s thoughts. I have no idea. Plus he is probably pissed right now. I don’t think it is just one game with Goff that bothers him. I just wonder if the relationship is turning sour. In my mind, if Goff was healthy enough to play against the Seahawks he was healthy enough to start.

It sure feels like something is going on here.

But this is all easier said than done. Goff has a big contract and trading him may not be possible. I’m not sure where they go from here. They may not have many options.

Yes, he just released a statement clarifying the comment. He said they are evaluating the QB position like they evaluate every position. It did not sound like a statement of support for Goff.

He MAY mean Wolford but that is very hard for me to believe. I think he watched Rodgers and just saw a whole other level if QB play. Goff had a very good game. He did not have an Aaron Rodgers game. He probably wonders if Goff is good enough–athletic enough, to take them all the way.

Like the Superbowl year, the defense was good enough to win the championship. The quarterback was not. Yes, the offensive line did not do a great job on protection and Goff seems to need a clean pocket most of the time, but it is more than that.

I think McVay wants a more athletic quarterback. There is only one Aaron Rodgers but I think he would be THRILLED to have a DeSean Watson.

He may just be frustrated by now. A trade may not be possible.

But this team has shown a willingness to give up draft picks. Would it take 3 number ones? A player? Who?

    What about the cap?

It could be an interesting off-season.

Call me crazy but I would not be shocked if the Rams took a shot at getting Watson in some sort of trade.

I get the sense that McVay is just not thrilled with Goff.

I am very proud of this Rams team.

Yes, they lost to a very good Packers team with a HOF quarterback but I never felt they would even get close to the playoffs this year. They made it and competed.

Akers runs with surprising strength. Another good pick. Donald will be back–healthy.

Goff needs a great offensive line. He can win but needs a great line. Rodgers can take a step here or there, throw side arm and hit a dime. Goff can’t. He needs a clean pocket. They can win with him but I would look for upgrades on that line.

I would guess they lose some defenders but they have been pretty good finding replacements.

I’m enjoying the Mcvay years and just appreciate winning seasons. Maybe it is the fact that I lived to experience a Superbowl win. Maybe it is just getting older and appreciating smaller things.

But I’m very happy with this team.

    Thanks for a great year!

    This will be very tough.

It will take a little luck, a mistake free game and the ability to run the ball to control the game.

This is not won in a shootout.

If the Rams in it will be more like a 20-17 game. If the Packers move into the 30’s it’s over. Frusttate them early and often.

Also–please do not lose this game on special teams. Be sharp and disciplined guys.

Run hard, frustrate Rodgers, play solid special teams and you have a chance.

But this is tough. No doubt about it.

One other thing I want to say is that I thought McVay coached one if his best games since he has been coach. He knew what this game was, and he made good decisions(with the possible exception of his challenges). This was a very impressive team win.

I hope the Rams can retain Staley.

Love it! My expectations were not high but what a performance from Cam Akers and the defense!

    I’m going to enjoy this.

If they get any further it will be icing on the cake. This gives me a satisfied feeling to the year.

Biden is chasing Republican votes. He is not chasing left or certainly not progressive votes. This is not only his campaign strategy; it is and has been the DNC strategy. This means they NEED those votes and are terrified of losing that shaky suburban voter to Trump. They are digging in the same hole for votes.

Like last time, the DNC is simply going to put it to the left like this: us or Trump. Take your pick.

    It is that simple.

Now, I think condemning looting and rioting is a good thing. Of course most protestors are not doing that. They do not even support it. But if you equate the two things as one, it is a problem. And of course the media is more interested in covering violence than they are a peaceful march.

But politically, Biden knows exactly who he has placed his bet on for the win and he will not lose sight of that.

So if anything threatens that, he will speak out forcefully. If it somehow costs some votes on the left, so be it. His theme is competence vs. chaos. That is his framing of this election. Not left vs. right.

He assumes the left will be there.

He is reaching toward the right to pull him over the finish line.

I live in a city in the outskirts of the Philly suburbs and I can tell you that if anyone here has any enthusiasm for Joe Biden at all,it isn’t showing. This city is mostly Latino and the Democrats are failing somewhat miserably in engaging them at all.

No one I know of is voting FOR Biden. If they vote at all it is AGAINST Trump. This seems like a strategy we have seen before by the Democrats. They are very anti-populist and are running on a strategy of conveying competence vs. chaos. That’s great. But will it be enough to motivate people to vote?

    Very few Biden signs here.

New Republican voter registration is outpacing Democrats.

I think it is entirely possible Trump wins Pennsylvania again. This state seems to be turning red. The rural vote rules. Trump signs everywhere.

    The cities? Apathy.

I think Biden CAN win but I also think it is a toss-up. Biden excites no one.

    We shall see.

Maybe Biden will not need Pennsylvania.

I don’t know but it feels like every team in the NFL is revealing a new uniform this year and it feels like we’ve been waiting on the new Ram’s uniforms forever. I don’t really get it. If they screw it up like they did the logo, than this long buildup will make the negative reactions worse. I did see a possible pic of them but who knows?

In the pic the yellow sort of bleeds into white.

    But we will see.

    Someday.

By the way, the Patriots new uniform sorta sucks.

Hey—it’s good to hear that everyone is doing well under the circumstances. My wife and I are doing okay. We both hit 58 next month. We are both essential workers apparently(she is a McDonald’s manager and I ship paint). So we both still work. The rest of my family is fine. My daughter and her husband just bought a house(and she is laid off for now). But so far so good for us. Like others, I have asthma so I worry about that a bit.

But for now I’m fine. I would love an antibody test to find out if I’ve been exposed to the virus.

    Insane year.

I can’t really even think about football (not a fan of the logo though). I mostly watch movies or comedy shows for distraction.

    Stay safe everyone.

I am really beginning to believe that Trump is going to win reelection. The left itself is very divided. I have been in arguements with Clinton zealots that made me feel I was arguing against Trumpers. There is very little difference in their devotion less to.policy and more to a figure.

There is a bit of religious fervor tied to our politics. Facts are less important than emotion.

This country is probably on the track to authoritarianism and also an oligarchy. I do not know that the train will switch track at this point. I never thought I would see it in my lifetime but we will begin to resemble Russian politics more in the future. More corruption. The internet and social media is such a perfect instrument to control us that I have to wonder if that wasn’t
    the reason it was invented.

I did not get to see the game and probably will never watch it.

    Disappointing year

I do not think the Rams are too far behind the other teams in the league but there will be some changes, certainly. The Rams will have to figure some things out. The defensive collapses this year are hard to explain, and the weirdness of Todd Gurley must also be figured out.

I think Weddle should go, and possibly Brockers.

I hate the Ramsey trade even more now.

But it is what it is.

On to the offseason and whatever it brings.

I think many people have suspected these things for years and it is nice to have it documented with real quotes from insiders. But at the end of the day, the country doesn’t care.

I post something like this on Facebook and…crickets.

The country will slide quietly into an authoritarian and corrupt version, beyond anything we have seen and other than a small crowd screaming about it, you will get mostly shrugs from the masses.

I have very little faith in my fellow Americans. These things are just no big deal to them. And mass propaganda works well on a mostly apathetic nation. I feel for the younger generation.

Mcvay finally seems to be adjusting while returning more to the run game and Gurley.

Higbee is really improving. He is becoming a nice weapon.

Woods is simply outstanding at so many things.

The two young guys on the right side of the line are doing a great job. I think Havenstein lost his job.

Lots of defensive pressure on Wilson tonight.

    Great job. Nice win.

I like the film for Joaquin Phoenix’s performance. It was simply one of the best acting performances I’ve ever seen. I did feel the plot was simply tossing, “Fight Club”, “V first Vendetta”, “King of Comedy” and “Taxi Driver” into a bowl, mixing it up and pouring it out. Not especially original or new. To me, the film is best enjoyed by enjoying an outstanding performance.

For the performance alone, it is worth seeing.
