Cowherd: “Kyle Shanahan has always given Sean McVay problems”@speed_kills@speedk1lls
He has. And so has Matt Lafluer, now Mike McDonald, and Nick Sirriani. Yet I keep seeing McVay is a better coach than any of them. McVay is a great coach but he’s not the best coach in football. You can’t be the best coach when you don’t beat the best coachesSeptember 11, 2026 at 12:51 pm #166024

Shanahan is now 12-7 against McVay, and several of those victories came with Shanahan managing lesser talent than the Rams had on the field. (And it would be 13-6, and the Rams would not have played the Bengals in the SB if Tartt hadn’t dropped the easiest interception in NFL history). If it happens once or twice…well, it happens.
But this is now a plot through line.

One thing is speed.
Rams don’t have it. The good defenses do.

Orlovsky really blasted Chris Shula. He just went off on him. Startled me. Hope he’s wrong.

Stafford lost that game yesterday. They score after the interception it’s 14-3 and the entire game flips. He scores on the sneak the game changes again. Two game changing plays and Stafford failed on both. He has to help the defense out. The team is built to play with a leadSeptember 11, 2026 at 5:28 pm #166032

znModeratorIts up there in the game vids thread. I think its titled ’49ers make myles garrett disappear’.
Yeah I figured, but I can’t find the part you refer to, and today as it happens I can’t listen to the entire vid!

Majoring in man coverage with all the motions and shifts the 49ers have can be a nightmare and lead to major assignment errors, especially with the new shifts and motions they showed. Not to mention, the NFL as a whole is trending hard toward zone coverage and split-safety principles.September 12, 2026 at 2:10 am #166037

wvParticipantStrange. Why was he playing at all? I mean, what ‘new information’ did they discover after the 49er game?
Shouldnt he have had this surgery a month ago?
