    This is the thread for all non-Rams games.

    Starting with…Darnold is injured and out of the game. So it’s Drake Maye v. Drew Lock. Tie game, 4th quarter. According to ESPN’s NFL scores page (strangely, and unaccountably, I elected not to actually watch this one).

    Maye intercepted twice. Patz can’t run the ball on Seattle. Looks like (according to the stats) the Seattle defense is prevailing.

    I’ve seen all of it except for the 3rd quarter, and Drake Maye has made some bad, bad throws. Like…this guy was considered the MVP by 49.9% of the country last season?

    The Seahawks have just turned this whole thing around, and they look like they’re going to wipe the Pats out here in the 4th.

    I have to say, i was unable to root for the Patriots. I just couldnt do it.

    Darnold has what, some sort of bad hip-bruise? Not a great start for QBs.

    Maye had a 54 QB Rating against Seattle.

    Not a good start for his MVP case.

    I was conflicted. I picked Seattle to win in my Confidence Pool, but I wanted them to lose. This is the same problem I had with fantasy football.

    After one game, I have to say that the confidence pool is an interesting place. I picked Seattle to win, got it right, and I’m in 22nd place. 3 people gave the outcome of this game their highest confidence, so they all got 16 points. I had it 8th, so I’m 8 points behind already. 1 person is 32 points behind because she ranked her highest confidence of all of Week One as the Patriots beating Seattle. I picked the Chargers over Arizona as my highest confidence, and I’m baffled by anyone placing the SEA/NE game as their highest confidence of the week, regardless of which team they chose.

    Anyway. We shall see how the Patriots’ season unfolds. How long will AJ Brown be out? How come Romeo Doubs was invisible?

    BTW, I’m pretty sure Darnold took a dive, just so he won’t have to face the Rams in week 16.

    With of course the obvious exception for the other coaches who have the exact same reputation. Such as DeMeco Ryans in Houston, or the combo of Sean Payton and DC Vance Joseph in Denver.

    So those are McDonald’s parallels in being unparalleled.

    i too picked Seattle in my pool, but so did everyone else. …. i wasn’t rooting for a New England win…. I was rooting for a Seattle loss.

    I can’t believe that New England QB was in the MVP running with Stafford last year…..

    Albert Breer noted that the NFL is eyeing games in Tokyo and Italy.

    He also stated (on the Dan Patrick Show) that ‘countries in the Middle East have made a strong bid at getting an NFL game. There are moral hoops you have to jump through…’

    Bears put up 59 pts on Carolina.
    Ravens put up 41 on Indy
    And the Texans vaunted Defense gave up 36 to the Bills.

    Cardinals still leading the Chargers in the 4th, 23 to 14. Jacoby having a big day so far.

    Rams could be looking up at three NFC West teams.

    Turns out John Harbaugh’s Giants might not be the pushovers they were last year. They beat Dallas in game one, and that included Jason Dart completing 23/29 for 3 TDs, no INTs, and a qb rating of 134.2. They also ran for 165 yards while holding Dallas to 69 yards rushing.

    The Broncos defense missed 28 tackles against the Chiefs, allowing 247 yards after missed tackles, the most yards allowed by any defense in a game since at least 2018.

    The Broncos had eight different defenders miss multiple tackles on the night.

    Just fwiw, Jarquez Hunter is on their practice squad.

    Imagine how Hunter feels. He was traded–for a player the Rams let walk because they did not want to sign that player to an extension–to the worst team in the league.

    It’s like you got detained for having expired plates, and then when you pay for registration and finally retrieve your car from the impound, on the way home you get pulled over for speeding
