Yeah. Turns out they needed them.

won the turnover battle but not the running game. made for a very tough tough game.

but i guess a win is a win?

I don’t understand McVay’s play-calling sometimes. Under these conditions, with a clear superiority in the ground game over the Bears’ defense, he…throws 75% of the time? WTF?

that was infuriating. i don’t know why he kept trying to throw it so much. maybe what the defense was giving them? i don’t know.

man that was stressful. i was thinking at some point a special teams play was going to bite them in the ass. i thought that the bad punt at the end of regulation was going to be it.

i was sure the bears were going to score in overtime and then the unbelievable interception by curl.

and it’s going to be even tougher at seattle. i’m already getting stressed out.

    i’m ok. i’m still… ok.

turnovers rams got ’em. they needed ’em. thankfully they didn’t give any up.

neither stroud nor maye are taking care of the ball. patriots are just getting luckier.

if stafford plays like stroud, the rams are cooked.

the above video goes into some detail on the rams and bears rushing offenses and defenses.

a healthy dotson will be very important.

AFAIK, none of the 3 teams are facing significant FA loss or attrition through retirement. So they all figure to be a year more experienced, and replenished with off season acquisitions.

i don’t know either, but la and seattle will also both be in excellent cap shape.

That play is at 2:01 in this vid. The difference is, AW had his hands on the ball too before the receiver fell, so it was a contested catch before AW grabbed control of it when they went down. In the Bills game, Cooks went down with the ball, uncontested, and then it got taken out of his hands.

i don’t know. they look almost identical to me.

    yeah.

Yeah, Cooks aint gonna make many contested catches. I thought it was a good call, based on how the rules are inter-pre-tated theze days.

didn’t ahkello witherspoon get an int on a similar play?

    seahawks look good.

I think it’s more important for the Rams to avoid turnovers than it is for them to get them.

    i agree.

    it’ll come down to turnovers.

and the running game. which defense is more effective stopping it or if one of the two abandon it.

passing wise both defenses are gonna have problems. but again. can they get turnovers?

i wonder if dotson will have some rust to knock off.

Okay, but what ya’ll are skipping over is that it hasn’t been very cold in Chicago yet. Nobody in Chicago has had to knock ice crystals out of their beards since sometime in early 2025. So they’re maybe acclimatized to some highs in the 40s – which is cooler than the 60s or 70s, whatever it is in LA right now – but the first “frozen beard” day is this coming Saturday.

    They aren’t acclimated either.

    it’s gonna be fuuuuuuuuun…

but only if the rams win…

All the ex-players ive seen talk about it, have said its a big factor. Tom Brady for one, talked about getting ‘softer’ when he was in Tampa Bay.

yeah. none of these guys who were saying it was a non-factor were players.

like zn i’ve moved from warm weather to cold weather and back again, and it’s amazing how quickly your body adapts to the different climates.

it’s not just playing in it. it’s just going about your day – day after day. will it be colder than usual? yes. but it’s just different when you come from a place like la to a place like chicago. those lake michigan winds will be unkind.

But you acclimate fairly quickly. And when you do, your old acclimation goes away. You are basically re-set.

this. i think it’s a legitimate factor. will it decide the game? it’s one of many factors. i think the rams can neutralize it to some extent by running the ball. it’s a rams strength vs a bears weakness and weather conditions favor a game like this so mcvay would be wise to run the crap out of the ball.

“HC Ben Johnson has been making the Bears practice without heaters this season, according to S Kevin Byard.”

    Shades of Bud Grant.

is that a good or a bad thing?

a lot of rams influencers/pundits are getting really defensive about the weather factor. i don’t understand why. it’s a factor. the rams play in la which has really mild weather. bears players play in these conditions. it’s an advantage. hopefully, the rams can overcome it.

Well, my bet is they do a deal or two they might not ordinarily do. Just a hunch.

one significant free agent signing from outside the team would be good. not necessarily an earth shaker. but a davante adams type signing at cornerback. maybe that’s being unrealistic?

and then draft secondary in the first round. draft some oline depth. a receiver. some dline depth.

just wanted to repost this in this thread since it’s specifically about mvp.

he got his first all pro selection this year so his hof score is currently at 95.7. mvp puts him at 105.6. average score for a qb in the hof is 108. he’d be a virtual lock at that point.

Somebody show that tweet to Puka. Show it to the whole team.

i know puka shouldn’ta said it. but damn if they’re not proving him right.

they should be embarrassed if it’s true.

Asked Sean McVay what stands out about Bears HC Ben Johnson’s system and rapport with QB Caleb Williams (given McVay’s own system and rapport with Matthew Stafford).

i forgot. same guy who rebuilt goff.

this is what i want to see.

i’m probably going to say this a thousand more times before next sunday. i’m gonna annoy everyone on this board and everyone i see. but the rams need to pound the ball on this run defense. especially if dotson is back and healthy.

rams were without puka and cooper.

but also bears didn’t have loveland and burden yet as they were still in college. williams is a year wiser. and i don’t know what the weather was but being that it was on september 29 it probably wasn’t too cold. next week’s game will be in freezing weather with snow very likely.

it’s true that stafford played well last year in philly under similar circumstances against a more talented team. so i’m hoping he can replicate that performance.

and also hoping that there aren’t any st gaffes and that the defense can somehow slow down caleb williams. maybe they should focus on taking away the run game and loveland. make the other receivers beat them.

On paper anyway, the Rams offense is better than the Chicago offense, and ought to shred the Chicago defense at a higher rate than the Chicago offense will against the Rams defense.

stafford does not play well in below freezing weather. the weather could very well neutralize the offense.

it might be better to just run the heck out of the ball and keep caleb off the field. avoid turnovers which the bears excel at on defense.

and as wv mentioned, bears play better on defense at home.
