InvaderRamModeratorTeams get up to 30, right?
they are allowed 45 according to the internet.
and then 30 personal invites outside of the combine.
so who knows who they’ve visited. i really wish i knew.
trading down and getting another wr sounds like a smart plan.
reading about kc concepcion. not a true wr1 guy, but he can return punts and kicks. that was another weakness of the rams. having a field position advantage can only help the offense. shoot. just not turning the ball over would be nice. maybe he could be what atwell was supposed to be. a shifty yac guy. supposed to be a willing blocker.
ted hurst. more your protypical number one receiver but raw. real raw. but snead likes standouts from the senior bowl and who better to learn from than guys like yarber and woods and adams and nacua. not just athletic but physical too.

InvaderRamModeratormaybe a trade down would be best.
unless someone unexpected drops.
InvaderRamModeratorSadiq is a gamble, I’d say. He’s not Brock Bowers.
yeah. the metrics and game film don’t always look favorably on him. but he looks the part in shorts. i’m hesitating now.
i don’t know. i guess i should just trust snead.
InvaderRamModeratori’ll put it this way. i think he could play any position on offense outside of qb or oline. i think he could even play running back. and he could catch, block or run out of any of those positions. he’d be a true wild card on offense.
i think i remember reading about kupp and nacua both lining up in the backfield as a fullback. imagine sadiq in that same role with his size and strength. or running a jet sweep. in addition to being a tight end or a slot receiver or a wide receiver. or him lining up at running back on short yardage situations or goal line situations.
also reading about his high football iq and his ability to explain everybody’s assignment. that’s what makes me feel like he could play all those positions along with his athletic abilities.
InvaderRamModeratori still like kenyon sadiq. i feel like he could play tight end. he could be a slot receiver. i read he’s even lined up at wide receiver. i bet he could he even line up in the backfield and play some fullback.
he can catch. run. block. super athletic.
InvaderRamModeratori get robert woods andrew whitworth type vibes from mcduffie. he isn’t just bringing his talents to la. he’s bringing a whole culture with him. hope he can turn around this secondary like what woods and whit did when they came to la.

InvaderRamModeratorif rams could just find a return specialist…
InvaderRamModeratorSo what is my IMO. That they don’t need to use pick 13 on a guy who might start at LOT in 2028. And they have a right OT for now–McClendon may even be better than Hav. They can get tackle depth for the present or a starter for the future in lower rounds. 13 should be used to either grab the kind of rock star player they rarely get a chance to draft at a position where he can have an effect this year…or to trade down and get more good players.
i hear what you’re saying, but this is why i wouldn’t mind. and i should also say this is not my first choice. losing an offensive lineman would be devastating for this offense. more than not having a third wr or a fifth tight end. other than losing stafford, that would really limit this offense. and you figure injuries will crop up at some point as it did with hav. freeling is a blue chip prospect in any year i think. plus i have read he can play multiple positions – even guard.
that wouldn’t be my first preference though. i’d prefer a receiver or a front seven player first.
InvaderRamModerator13. Los Angeles Rams (via ATL)
Monroe Freeling, OT, Georgia
The Los Angeles Rams have been aggressive with their acquisitions of CBs Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson. This aggressiveness frees them up to go after another positional need, which is OT. The Rams decided to shore up the protection for Matthew Stafford and draft Georgia OT Monroe Freeling. Freeling has high-end traits and has the ceiling to be a blindside protector for the next decade.
14. Baltimore Ravensi would be cool with freeling. super athletic. protypical measurements. but only had one season where he really stood out so not a lot of game tape. jackson’s contract is up after 2027. i could see him compete for the right tackle spot and then switch over after two seasons.
again. good size and length. and he’s an explosive athlete for a tackle.
InvaderRamModeratorright now i want sadiq. he can play tight end. but he can also be a slot receiver. i’ve also read he can line up out wide. he’s even played running back in high school.
he could probably even line up as a fullback.
it just makes so much sense that mcvay would want a guy like him.
InvaderRamModeratorOn paper this is the best defense they’ve had in quite some time. On paper.
well. if on the field, the rams defense doesn’t live up to expectations, that would reflect very poorly on shula. there’d be no one else to point the finger this time.
maybe the rams could get another linebacker. maybe some dline depth, but they’ve done about as much as you can do. it’s up to shula to make this work.
InvaderRamModeratorcurl will be in his age 27 season. lake in his age 27 season. kinchens will be 24. mcduffie 26 and watson 28. a young secondary that should be at or are around their prime years.
InvaderRamModeratorThe only thing I know in advance I would not like is taking Ty Simpson at 13.
yeah. anyone except a qb.
my only worry about sadiq. tight ends in the first round can be a little risky. and i don’t get brock bowers vibes from him. not even loveland or warren vibes.
i almost want them to go front seven depending on how i feel on a particular day. styles in particular is interesting because he could play so many roles. he could tackle, cover, rush the passer. he’s a former safety converted to linebacker. i feel like he could play a variety of roles for this defense. i don’t think the rams have ever had a player like him.
even wr wouldn’t feel so bad.
so many options for the rams to go.
InvaderRamModeratorSo, now they draft a CB with the 13th pick, right?
w
vi wouldn’t necessarily mind.
but i want sadiq first. i’m also intrigued by styles although i don’t think he lasts until that pick. i like faulk and tate as well.
if love falls to 10, i’d really start to get curious.
or they could trade down.
this draft just gets more and more interesting.
InvaderRamModeratorwow. now they really have no discernible weakness. maybe a return specialist?
can sadiq return punts?
InvaderRamModeratorHere’s what I hope they don’t do. Trade for Max Crosby. It would cost too much considering it would mean bringing a 4/3 end to a 3/4 team, which would require all sorts of changes to work out. Not denying Crosby is a great player, but, his greatness does not outweight having to re-wire an entire defensive system just to fit him in.
i’d prefer they didn’t either.
but I do wonder if they should address the front seven with that first rounder. i remember you saying that mcduffie might be even better with a top notch front seven.
rams have a good front seven but could they make it even better? i don’t think reese or bailey will be available. i don’t know about bain. but if snead likes him, i’ll trust their judgement on this.
two guys i like are styles and faulk. both are young and full of potential. different positions of course. but both could fortify this defense.
InvaderRamModeratorTrading down is also acceptable. I’m good with anything, too.
they re-signed curl. re-signed higbee.
yeah. they could go almost any direction except qb. or trade down.
i still want sadiq though. he could fill in as a big wr or tight end.
InvaderRamModeratorI just wonder if the Chiefs would have taken less.
i do know that the giants were interested. i don’t know what they offered.
my one worry. he’s supposedly elite at the slot but only good outside, and he’s going to have to play on the outside with the rams.
InvaderRamModeratorgood to see him coming back. still would like to see sadiq drafted. i just think there’s so much potential there.
InvaderRamModeratorWith McDuffie already onboard, if the Rams did draft McCoy, they would lead the league in Scottish cornerbacks.
you could even call them the mccornerbacks.
InvaderRamModeratori’m all in on the rams drafting sadiq at this point. the rams can put him in 12 personnel but with the added benefit that they could essentially morph into 11 personnel without taking him out. rams would talk about how nacua and kupp allowed them to run a lot of 11 personnel because they could block like tight ends. well now they can run 12 personnel because sadiq can line up at wr too.
if he’s not available, maybe a receiver. or maybe trade down and get stowers. or they could select the best defensive player available and strengthen the defense.
InvaderRamModeratorthis opens up a lot of possibilities with that thirteenth pick. they could pick a receiver. but they could also get a love.
they could also go another db. or front seven player. that’s exciting.
InvaderRamModeratorI don’t love it.
i don’t know what to make of it. if he’s a first team all pro this season, then i’ll be happy.
i read that he is signing a long term contract if he is traded. at first i thought it was a one and done. with a long term deal i might feel differently.
InvaderRamModeratorYou would think they would be tempted to take that RB guy if he is still there at 13. I can’t imagine he will get by the Chiefs, though. But stranger things have happened.
i don’t know if you guys know, but i’ve been reading that he’s played slot receiver for notre dame and even did some reps there at the combine.
he could potentially play slot receiver for the rams in addition to filling in at rb.
InvaderRamModeratorYou would think they would be tempted to take that RB guy if he is still there at 13. I can’t imagine he will get by the Chiefs, though. But stranger things have happened.
i’d take a look at sadiq.
not a wr. but he’d be a wr/te hybrid. line him up with ferguson or parkinson.
and this guy has the speed to get deep. possible matchup nightmare.
InvaderRamModeratorBtw, i dunno what i think of McVay as a QB-developer. Stafford was Stafford. And Goff…?
i’m glad you said that because that’s the one thing left for him to prove – the ability to draft and develop a qb. if he can do that and win one more superbowl. that’ll put him in belichick and reid territory.
belichick did it with brady. reid did it with mcnabb and then mahomes. even though he didn’t draft goff, mcvay could have done that with him but was too immature as a head coach and gave up too early. he’s older and wiser and you’d think he’d be more patient. we’ll see.
InvaderRamModeratorUGA OT Monroe Freeling just finished NFL Combine testing at a 9.99 RAS
Was OT1 here before it was cool
HT 6’7 3/8
WT 315
Vert 33.5
Broad 9-7
40 4.93 (he wasn’t pleased)
10 1.72
Arm 34 3/4🐶Has played both OT spots

InvaderRamModeratorjust watch this guy block. and then his body control as a receiver. he’s got the athlecism of a wide receiver but the attitude of a fullback. like if you took puka and put another 30 pounds on him. but also faster and way more explosive. he could be the rams’ george kittle.
he’s a mean dude but also cerebral. supposedly impressed coaches in interviews.
InvaderRamModeratorI wasn’t making fun of you!
i took no offense.
i understand going corner with the first pick. that was my thinking a month ago.
i just see sadiq as being worth forgoing the smart pick. watching interviews. watching clips of him blocking. this guy could line up anywhere. he played wr primarily in high school and converted in college. i think he’d elevate everyone around him. selfless player. but athletically out of this world.
InvaderRamModeratorStafford. Already passed Goff, and he’s one healthy season from passing Gabriel.
this is why he needs to play at least two more seasons. i would prefer at least three more seasons.
