Points on every offensive drive for the Rams in a Christmas win over the Broncos. We’ve been looking and have yet to find another instance of that.
    .
Baker Mayfield 4 incompletions in today’s win (24/28). Rams defense with 4 interceptions of Broncos QBs.
    .
Rams scored more touchdowns off takeaways in that first quarter (2) than they had all season prior (1). INTs for Durant & Wagner. TDs for Higbee & Akers. Gay good from 55 yards. First time Rams have scored 17+ in opening 3 possessions this year.
    .
Rams match their season-high in scoring (31 points vs ATL) in the first half against the Broncos. 2 TD for Akers 2 TD for Higbee 55-yarder for Gay
    .
To all you saying “the Broncos, the Broncos…” Denver an elite defensive unit, any way you slice it. No. 1 against the pass. Rams averaging 6.8 yards per play. Mayfield 12/13 and his only miss he threw off the crossbar on purpose.

Matt Gay hits his 53-yard field goal attempt. Seventh kick of 50-plus yards this season. Matt Gay is a good kicker.

Baker Mayfield is 24/28 for 230 yards, 2 TD If it holds, Mayfield ties @Jim_Everett for the 2nd-highest completion% (85.7) in @RamsNFL history on a minimum of 20 attempts. Kurt Warner (20 of 23) would be only one higher. 85.7% would be highest for 28+ attempts

    Sarah Barshop@sarahbarshop
Cam Akers is the first Rams RB with 100 rushing yards and multiple rushing touchdowns in a game since Todd Gurley in Week 13 of 2018

Rams HC Sean McVay asked if QB Baker Mayfield is living up to his expectations for him or better: “Probably better.”
    .
Sean McVay on Bobby Wagner: “His consistency says everything you need to know about him as a human being.”

Larrell Murchison had more sacks today (2.5) in his Rams debut than Lewis and Hollins had combined this season (2.0)

    Best FG% in Rams history, minimum of 20 attempts: 1. Greg Zuerlein, 38/40 (2017) 2. Matt Gay, 32/34 (2021) 3. Jeff Wilkins, 39/42 (2003) 4. Greg Zuerlein, 26/28 (2013) 5. Matt Gay, 22/24 (2022)

The Rams are missing nine starters on both sides of the ball. Today they beat the Broncos 51-14.
    .
Hell of a Rams debut for Larrell Murchison – 2.5 sacks, 2 TFL – but he’s walking off the field under his own power with athletic trainers.

Word around the League is that the new ownership in Denver will do a complete house cleaning as soon as season ends
    .
A high level executive told me 2 years ago that without a strong run game and strong defense to help, Russell Wilson can’t be successful. He was right
    .
    Blaine Grisak@bgrisakDTR
Before anyone says, “it’s just the Broncos”. Denver has the number three defense in EPA. This is a complete team win. At 4-10, do we really need to qualify wins like this? Enjoy it.

Who among us hasn’t had a few stents, ammirite? (Glad your well. This was a bit startling, as I’m sure it was for you.) Merry Christmas.

Well it helped that I live with an RN. We caught it very early. I had chest pains, and they weren’t awful, just concerning, and it came with shortness of breath. She took a look at me, stethoscope and all, and then called 911 without even asking or announcing it. Just boom, call, ambulence, with her saying “be sure and take your phone and charger to the hospital honey” before I had said a word (“hospital??”) The dead giveaway was when the EMS guys in the ambulence gave me nitro and the pain immediately went away. That could only mean one thing. Nitro opens up arteries, so that means the pain was from blockage. At the hospital they tested me, none of it too arduous or painful, then they scheduled me for surgery and put in a stent. The stay wasn’t too bad–I had a good book with me (“Station 11”). People say I hope you have a good recovery but honestly it’s not like that, there’s no recovery per se–you don’t want to run a marathon quite yet but day to day is just normal, it’s more like replacing a sparkplug than repairing a damaged engine.

And here I babble on. Have you had a stent? Who else has had a stent?

    Merry Christmas.

You are still a force of nature, my friend. Glad you are doing well. m

Nature hasn’t been too good to me though. But then also not spectacularly awful either.

And honest thanks for the kind regards.

I’m home. It was tedious being hospitalized for 4 days but I went from concerning chest pains to having a stent put it in, and here I am, not the least bit worse for wear and with a heart condition we caught very early and was fixed very well.

    I appreciate the posts guys.

that’s great to hear ZN. Hoping for a speedy recovery.

my understanding of this is that recovery is basically just taking the right meds and being steadily healthy for months so it’s not like an invasive surgery it’s not quite like other things

Cardinals loss / Broncos win is a win-win for me. I don’t like the Cardinals & every Broncos win lowers the Seahawks draft pick. I want the Broncos to win out (except for when they play the Rams of course).

What happened to the @Buccaneers shouldn’t surprise anyone. It’s what happens the game after you play the @49ers. This season teams the game after they play San Fran are 1-12 on the season. Niners beat you up

Tom Brady lost a 17-point lead for the first time ever to lose an 8th regular season game for the first-season ever and Bill Belichick’s team now owns perhaps the most situationally bone-headed play of all-time. The NFL Earth is off its axis.

    The 11-3 mystery

    https://theathletic.com/4012477/2022/12/17/colts-vikings-comeback-nfl-history/?source=pulsenewsletter&campaign=5738357

On one hand, completing the largest comeback in NFL history — turning a 33-0 deficit into a 39-36 win, as the Vikings did against the Colts on Saturday — is a sign a team is capable of anything.

On the other: The Vikings continue to leave us questioning whether they’re actually good.

Minnesota entered Saturday with a negative point differential, despite its 10-3 record. It left with the NFC North title and its seventh fourth-quarter comeback of the season. That’s impressive and alarming; it means the Vikings have trailed in the fourth in 10 of 14 games.

    • The 33-point comeback broke a record set by the 1992 Bills, who overcame a 32-point deficit to defeat the Oilers 41-38 in an AFC wild-card game.
    • At halftime, Kirk Cousins was 6-of-12 for 43 yards. He proceeded to complete 28 of 42 passes for 417 yards and four touchdowns in the second half and overtime. (Roller coaster for fantasy managers.)
    • The Colts dropped to 1-4 under interim coach Jeff Saturday and have been outscored 69-9 in the second halves of their last two games combined. Yikes.

One more stat to melt your brain, via Yahoo: Since 1930, teams were 1,548-1-1 when leading by 30-plus. Truly a work of art.

Elsewhere, Josh Allen looked like an MVP as the Bills clinched a playoff spot. And the Browns won a snoozer over the Ravens.

Rewatched Bills-Dolphins. Josh Allen is unreal. Has anybody proved more people wrong than him? He was ripped in the draft process and in his early years. Big miss for almost all out there.
