Per NFL Research, Kyren Williams is the first Rams RB with 2 rushing touchdowns and at least 10 receptions since Todd Gurley in Week 15, 2018 – also against the Eagles.

Rams are 2-2 with Stafford turning the ball over every week, no consistent TE depth, no Garrett, no Puka for 2 weeks, and an unforgivable amount of penalties (some very questionable)

All while playing 4 quality teams 3 of which could make the Super Bowl this year.

The Rams defense is 2nd in the NFL in total yards allowed despite playing:

    – 3 games without Myles Garrett
    – 2 games without Kam Kinchens
    – 2 games without Aaron Donald
    – 1 game without Jaylen Watson

The Rams Forum: LA’s Playbook for Passionate Fans@RamsFansForum
The Rams blitzed Eagles QB Jalen Hurts on 60.6% of his dropbacks in Week 4, their highest blitz rate in a game under defensive coordinator Chris Shula. L.A. generated pressure on 13 of 18 blitzes (65.0%) and allowed just five completions on 16 pass attempts when blitzing. The Rams blitzed on every third down dropback except for the final third down of the game, generating six pressures and a sack on those third-down blitzes.

Why the Rams are right where they need to be despite sluggish start

Sure, the Rams haven’t lived up to the preseason hype, despite outsiders expecting them to steamroll opponents and flirt with perfection.

This star-studded team has been hit hard by injuries, blown leads and even looked old for long stretches of the first quarter of the season, yet the Rams are right where they need to be after a gutsy 24–20 comeback victory against the Eagles to improve to 2–2 on the season.

L.A. assembled the Avengers of football ultimately to win a Super Bowl this season. That goal might not have been attainable had the Rams lost to the Eagles, knowing that the mighty Bills (3–1) were up next on the schedule. But the Rams found their groove in Philadelphia and might benefit in the long run from coming out on the other side of a tumultuous start to the season.

Coach Sean McVay finally realized that Kyren Williams is the engine that gets the offense going, especially on days when Stafford throws costly interceptions—he had two against the Eagles. In the first three games of the season, McVay prioritized giving Blake Corum more touches in the backfield, even though Williams was clearly the better option. However, there was no split against the Eagles: Williams had 16 carries, 11 more than Corum, and delivered 80 rushing yards and two touchdowns, including the eventual game-winner on a gritty, second-effort seven-yard run with 1:10 left in regulation. (Williams also had 10 catches for 67 yards.)

The Rams also turned up the pressure defensively and forced the Eagles to go 0-of-12 on third-down conversions. Learning how to win in ugly fashion could be the best thing for this team, which still has everything right in front of it.

One of the hidden stats that usually helps trigger unexpected breakouts or explain disappointing offenses is average starting field position.

Best average starting field position so far: Raiders, Eagles, Panthers, Seahawks, Bills

Worst: Chargers, Texans, Patriots, Rams, Falcons

record when entering the 4th trailing by 10:

3-3 the rams under mcvay (2017-2026)
20-153 the rest of the nfl (2017-2026)
3-34 the rams before mcvay’s arrival

the chances of winning are very low when entering the 4th trailing by 10 – but under mcvay it’s been 50/50.

Well, that is…puzzling? McVay hasn’t changed his approach as far as i know. Why ‘this’ year are they being so bone-headed?

This is the kind of game where Myles Garrett would make a huge difference. Ah well.
