The culprit for SF is 100% being bad on 3rd down on defense. And last game they weren’t very good on 3rd down on offense (but that was a one-off). Last three weeks they’ve been putrid on late downs.

Jared Goff is the only QB in #NFL history to have 1,200+ passing yards and no turnovers through 4 games, while not having a winning record.

Eagles playing Jaguars in London, this morn. Jags up 7 to 0, BUT, the Eagles have, indeed, completed A third down conversion. So, there’s that.

A journey of a thousand miles begins by putting your shoes on.

Interesting that Phil. is getting the sacks, not Jax.

    14-10 Eagles early third quarter.

Philly scored 14 in the first half so we know whats coming now — total shut-out in the second half.

    Jags will win 24 to 14. 🙂

So, of course, I had the Cowboys at 16 in my conference pool, and JAX at 15, demonstrating that, once again, I know nothing about football.

I must say, I am enjoying the Eagles season so far. I didnt realize that over the years, i have developed a hatred for Philly that has passed my Cowboy/Viking hatred.

    Philly fans are apoplectic. Rabid.

    Packers leading Ben-Johnson 20 to 7, I see.

    Fine by me.

Here’s what I think I know about the NFL:

Good teams: SF, KC, SEA, LAR, BUF, BAL, JAX
Bad teams: TEN, LAC, NYJ, MIA, AZ

The other 20 teams are an absolute crapshoot every week. Could win. Could lose. Could be on the right/wrong side of a blowout. Just chaos.

It has been a wild first month. The disintegration of the NFC East has been a surprise to me.

The Myles Garrett, Caleb Williams, Jaxson Dart injuries are just huge.

Saquon Barkley too. Eagles had, like 22 yards rushing, i think.

Jayden Daniels blows the game. Lots of bonehead plays this month all over the NFL.

Seattle turnover-ing it away in the first half.

Darnold – 43 QB rating in first half. Sacked 4 times. 1 INT.

    QB controversy coming to Seattle?

    Jayden Daniels blows the game.

Dan Quinn took the blame. Said he didn’t tell Daniels to look to throw it away or spike it.

Daniels has got to know that, though.

    They’re trading halves.

    1st half:
    Seattle, 1 INT + 2 fumbles lost. 3 turnovers.
    SF, 1 fumble lost.

    2nd half:
Seattle, 1 INT. Makes 4 TOs total.

SF, 1 INT + 1 fumble lost. 3 turnovers total

    Seattle 26-21 over SF.

    49ers nip the Seahawks.

Purdy to Evans is a bit like Stafford to Kupp, in that there is just something supernatural about the connection. Its gonna be a problem as long as the substation allows it.

JSN drops a possible game-winning pass. Football gods feisty today.

Didnt realize Brandon Cooks was on the 49ers. Caught a TD. A clutch playoff drop awaits in the future.

Total yards: SF 269. Seattle 251.

    Turnovers: SF 3. Seattle 4.

    Silly-early Wildcard watch.

Packer, Lions, Bears, Seahawks – all at 3 – 2.

    Vikings and 49ers – 5-0.

49er schedule: Wash, Atl, Vegas, Dallas, Vikings…

The thing that struck me about the Jags last second win — 8 seconds left. The kick return took 7 seconds, leaving one second for the kick.

But it was just blind luck that the kick-returner went down after a 7 second return. The Eagles should have LET HIM RUN FARTHER. The tackler who tracked him down was WAY faster. He coulda just ran along side the guy for as long as he wanted. He tackled him about the 40. He coulda let him go thirty more yards. Time woulda run out.

I have seen this same kind of scenario play out. This isnt the kind of thing no-one would think about. Marshall Faulk would have known to let the guy keep running. I guarantee he would. Some players just know this stuff. Some coaches just know this stuff. I bet Belichick would know it.

It’s not just that, though you’re right about the return. But before that, the Eagles were in field goal position and they threw a pass. Inexplicably, the receiver went out of bounds, which of course stopped the clock. If not for that, they could have run the clock down to 0:01 before kicking what would have been the winning field goal (I don’t know if they had a time out but if not they had the time to line up and spike it). That mistake may have been even bigger than either letting them run about 40 yards on a kick return to get in FG position, or not waiting till the clock was at O:00 before tackling the returner.

What’s your take, if any, on Mr Sirriani?

I don’t really have one. Well other than the obvious. Meaning, I suppose he’s a decent head coach when things are going right, but has no solutions when things go wrong.

This Seahawks team is fighting itself so hard to play “complimentary” football

The run game is a shell of it’s ‘25 form
Special Team coverage units are a mess
    Their ball security is alarming

The talent is on display, but the three phases of the team setting each other up for success is not
