Why are you missing games? Not that it’s “an issue” just actually curious.

My parents are 93 years old. They live 90 miles from me in my childhood home. I spent every weekend August – Thanksgiving moving them into a retirement home. And since the first of January, I have been going to the house every weekend to clean it out, clean it up, and prepare it for sale. Going up tonight for a 4-day weekend, as it happens. The only games I saw this year were games played on days other than Sunday, with the exception of the final game against the Seahawks. I saw that.

And you call yourself a Rams fan…

Looks like I’m not going to be able to watch it after all. Fitting end to a season I mostly missed anyway. And it looks like a good season to miss.

So you’re not going to the game this year?

Why are you missing games? Not that it’s “an issue” just actually curious.

New Rams OC Mike LaFleur just spoke to a few LA reporters for the first time. He says taking this job was “a pretty simple decision” because of the Rams’ success & his bonds with the staff. He’s known Sean McVay for 13 years, and he worked with Raheem Morris in Atlanta.

Won’t say Rams would’ve considered a scheme change with DCs Wilks or Flores in the case of a vacancy (Evero would’ve been top choice)…but…gotta be at least mildly stressful for Rams brass that three really good DCs were just hired in the NFC as they continue to wait on Colts.
    .
If people find a way to blame Morris for the situation the Colts have him in at the moment (where he’s not like, stuck in a box in Indy lol – he’s in meetings and with staff etc) then idek what really to even say in response. It’s not up

to him or the Rams, really. If he doesn’t get the job he’s their DC. It’s up to the Colts. You can’t ask someone to leave a job they have – and where they’re wanted – just to float in limbo to not get a job (when you had one!)

    from https://thedraftnetwork.com/sr-prospect/cody-mauch-fd65681c-4711-44c8-9796-c70fff620d52/

Cody Mauch is an experienced college player who enters the NFL with an intriguing resume. A former walk-on tight end, Mauch transitioned to the offensive line where he quickly developed into one of the best left tackles in the country.

Mauch is a sixth-year senior who with his experience and age should be a plug-and-play player at the next level. Mauk has good size and athleticism but lacks the requisite arm length to excel at left tackle at the next level, thus a position switch to guard is very likely. In the run game, Mauch displays excellent lateral agility and movement skills while working to the second level. He is quick enough to get across the linebacker’s face and has the agility to land on moving targets on pulls and screens. He plays with a physical temperament and looks to finish his opponent whenever given the chance.

Mauch is more of a position and wall-off blocker who wins with angles rather than a power knock-back player who generates displacement at the point of attack. Because of this, Mauch is very likely to excel in a zone-based scheme where his mobility can shine. In the pass game, Mauch displays light feet, balance, and body control to mirror in pass protection. He gets good depth on his pass sets and has the range to handle speed rushers working his outside shoulder.

The Colts first interviewed Raheem Morris on January 17.

The interview process has gone on almost a month. They narrowed down from 20+ to 8 with a third round of interviews coming up.

There’s a point where thorough process becomes “you don’t know what you want.”

    RAMZILLA@elitster
Simply placating the nfl. They know who they want in Saturday. Checking boxes to avoid criticism.

Former #Jets OL coach John Benton is expected to interview for the same job on the #Rams staff, source said. He worked with new OC Mike LaFleur at NYJ, so plenty of familiarity.

The Rams are hiring ex-Patriots TEs coach Nick Caley as their new tight ends coach, per sources. Caley interviewed for OC jobs with the Pats, Jets and Texans, and had inquiries for other jobs, but saw the Rams as the best fit. Sean McVay adds a rising, young coach to his staff.

40 years old. Been with the Patriots since 2015. Could be the #Rams 2024 OC if LaFleur gets hired away next year

Panthers announce they have agreed to terms with Ejiro Evero as defensive coordinator.

    Jourdan Rodrigue@JourdanRodrigue
That’s a heck of a hire – Evero is a great coach and player developer.

There’s some conflict on whether or not Rams need a WR. Right now they have…

    Kupp
    Robinson
    Van
    Skowronek
    Atwell
    McCutcheon

Assuming Rams go a combo of OL/EDGE/DB combo in first two picks, where does a 5th/6th round WR slot into that group?

    Cornell@gqscholar
I would rather have a tight end, in the mold of Andrew’s, Kittle, or Kelce, over a pure wr. Higbee is 30 and struggles to stay healthy. A TE, in the mold of Kelce, Andrews and Kittle, can line up as a wr and a TE.

Ejiro Evero is the Rams top DC target if Raheem gets hired in Indy. Per @AlbertBreer. This was expected, and something @JourdanRodrigue had mentioned previously

Rams obviously keeping a close eye on the multiple-weeks-long coaching search in Indianapolis. DC Raheem Morris is one of the finalists and so is Broncos DC Ejiro Evero. Morris’ staff is getting reinforcements in LA if he stays, otherwise would expect a ton of interest in Evero.

    The Rams from 2017 – 2021:
    – Just two franchises won more games than the Rams
    – Tied for first in the NFL in Super Bowl appearances
    – Tied for first in the NFL in rings
I get it’s popular to dunk on the Rams when their entire roster was on IR, but….

The #Texans are requesting to interview #49ers passing game coordinator Bobby Slowik for their vacant OC job under new HC DeMeco Ryans, source said. An impressive young coach, Slowik is another new branch from the Kyle Shanahan tree.
