    Nate Atkins@NateAtkins_
The Rams could draft Jeremiyah Love and use Kyren Williams as a third-down back for pass pro. But taking an RB at No. 13 to not be a 3-down RB is questionable.

If Love is as dynamic as some believe, it can be a worthy trade-off. But the Rams are already a top-5 rushing offense.

The problem with trading or demoting Kyren Williams into a No. 2 role is you’re accepting a downgrade at the RB function the Rams value most:

    Blitz pickup.

It’s the biggest reason I think Kyren gets slept on by many on the outside. The Rams rightly value his pass pro a *lot*

I don’t expect Love to be there at No. 13. If he and Makai Lemon both are, I think it’s a fascinating debate for the Rams:

Upgrade at a position already strong (Love)

    Or:

Longterm asset at a position that will be a weakness in one season and needs some help right now (Lemon)

    Vandalizes defensive seams with impunity

I have to wonder what Sadiq could have done to the Roman Empire.

IMO? He would have Visigothized it.

    From Google AI:

Important Distinctions: The word “baseball bat” (a tool for striking) is unrelated to the word “bat” (the winged mammal). The animal name comes from the Middle English bakke, which likely came from a Scandinavian source like the Old Norse leðrblaka (meaning “leather flapper”)

Yeah, Kenyon Sadiq would be exciting.

This guy has Vernon Davis as the comp.

Sadiq has a lot of evaluators…oh…shaking their heads just a bit.

    from https://www.nfl.com/prospects/kenyon-sadiq/32005341-4448-2340-2c14-326d6464aafc

    Overview

A versatile tight end with a shredded physique and alluring potential as a volume target, Sadiq’s route tree will be full of branches. His athleticism and break quickness should allow him to uncover against man coverage on all three levels. He’s talented after the catch, with the ability to make things easier for play-callers and quarterbacks looking to move the sticks. He has the body control and hand strength to win contested catches but will occasionally allow balls to hit the ground on lower-difficulty plays. He’s adequate as a blocker, giving good effort in-line and locating and landing on linebackers as a move blocker. Teams looking to diversify their passing game options with a talented pass-catching tight end could make Sadiq a priority.

    Strengths

Built like a bodyguard with a compact, well-defined frame.
Capable of running a robust route tree.
Gets in and out of breaks with good snap and separation.
Vandalizes defensive seams with impunity against man coverage.
Survives collisions with catches thanks to his hand strength.
Shows off agility and acceleration after the catch.
Fits up run blocks with proper positioning and base width.
Grips and presses forward with moving feet to stay connected.

    Weaknesses

Shows some drift in his feet on zone-beater routes.
Inconsistent catch focus on throws above his numbers.
Average acceleration and pop into contact as a lead blocker.
Defensive ends will play across his face when he’s based up.
Needs to avoid leaning as a point-of-attack blocker.

Ok, the NBA has gotten…surreal. ‘Tanking’ is now an APPROVED strategy. Its not a dirty little secret anymore, its a ‘reasonable strategy.’

Basketball. Is that the one where you take a bat and hit a ball over a net to the other player with a bat who then hits it back? Or is that water polo?

Something changed. Its subtle, but her jabs at the Rams…oh…just have a teeny-tiny ‘edge’ to them now. Started noticing it after the first Seattle game. Around then.

Still enjoy her analysis. I dont really care about the ‘mina edge’ nowadays. But its there.

Could there be strains in the Rams/Mina relationship? … ie. referring to her doing preseason games.

If it seems like there have been more trades than ever. Since the 2026 new league year started last week, there have been 18 trades, including Andy Dalton today.

    Kevin Demoff@kdemoff
Nothing creates more interest in the NFL than trades. This is why Cleveland’s proposal to allow teams to trade picks up to 5 years out as opposed to 3 years out makes so much sense. More picks to trade = more trades = more interest & team building options.

Rosenthal mentions something i hadnt heard. Dunno what the source was, but maybe they floated a Davante Adams trade if an AJ Brown deal had been made.

That’s come up and then died down.

    ***

    On Adams:

    from https://heavy.com/sports/nfl/los-angeles-rams/davante-adams-trade-rumor-update-brown-waddle/

“No [the Rams are not trading Davante Adams]. They just paid him a $6 million roster bonus on Sunday,” Schefter said on “The Pat McAfee Show” on March 17. “You’re not paying the guy a $6 million bonus and then moving the guy the next day. So, that’s not happening anytime soon.”

    ***

On Brown, from the most recent “Rams tweets” thread:

    ….

    from https://theramswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/rams/2026/03/16/rams-aj-brown-trade-rumor-update/89179523007/?taid=69b8141c75f02f0001613e77&utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=trueanthem&utm_source=twitter

On Monday morning, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport shared an update on Brown’s future and which teams might be interested in him, including the Rams. Rapoport said the top two teams that pursued Brown were the Rams and Patriots, but Los Angeles has since bowed out of the race.

“The Rams were one, and they looked into it deeply. Ultimately, decided it was not for them. And they are essentially, as far as I can tell, out on the situation,” Rapoport said.

    Offensive line

Alaric Jackson, Steve Avila, Coleman Shelton, Kevin Dotson, Warren McClendon Jr., Justin Dedich

He only lists 6. They also have Limmer, Quessenberry, and a few more. They do have a bit of depth, but it would be a good position to use the 3rd round pick on (guard?)

Such an overblown and wrong narrative about this years draft class. Lack of QBs and blue chip talent at the top doesn’t mean a bad draft. There’s actually lots of depth and starters to be found at WR, C, EDGE, LB, CB and S.

Los Angeles Rams: WR, OT, LB

The Rams boast perhaps the fewest weaknesses of any NFL team, particularly after their spending spree in the secondary. Beyond Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, though, their next-highest yardage total from a wide receiver in 2025 came from Xavier Smith, who racked up just 303 yards. Adams is entering the final season of a two-year contract, so the Rams may look to the future at the position early in the draft.

Projected right tackle Warren McClendon Jr. (78.7 PFF overall grade in 2025) is also entering the final year of his rookie deal, so perhaps Los Angeles will look to develop new talent there. Additional linebacker depth could also be a need, depending on how the team feels about its options behind Nate Landman and Omar Speights.

What insight. None of us have thought of any of this before.

I want to go to NFL Expert School. I’m tired of just being a ho-hum fan.

Well, thats ridiculous. I’m a huge Macdonald fan, but he didnt ‘outclass’ McVay in any of the three games this year. Two great coaches, three great games.

    +1

It’s interesting to know that putting up 1060 yards and 64 points in 2 games on the league’s 1st ranked defense in terms of points allowed, is being outclassed.

I can’t wait until they’re rated evenly, to see what the McVay Rams look like against them at that point.

from 2026 NFL Power Rankings…After Free Agency: https://www.foxsports.com/stories/nfl/2026-nfl-power-rankings-rams-vikings-surge-cowboys-steelers-fall-after-free-agency

    #3 Seattle Seahawks
    Super Bowl odds: +1000

They are probably deep enough to withstand the losses of cornerback Riq Woolen, safety Coby Bryant and edge rusher Boye Mafe. But losing running back Kenneth Walker is going to hurt. It won’t be easy to replace the Super Bowl MVP.

    #2 Denver Broncos
    Previously ranked: 1
    Super Bowl odds: +2000

They weren’t expecting to do much in free agency, and they didn’t disappoint. Losing defensive tackle John Franklin-Myers’ seven sacks isn’t great, but they should still have plenty of pass rush without him.

    Los Angeles Rams
    #1 Los Angeles Rams
    Super Bowl odds: +800

They are loaded for a run and made sure of it by plugging their most gaping hole — their secondary. They acquired cornerbacks Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson — two huge additions considering their pass coverage kept them out of the Super Bowl last season.

    from Brock Vierra: https://www.si.com/nfl/rams/onsi/los-angeles-free-agency-mailbag-looking-next-moves-free-agency

Q: On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being excellent, how do you score the Rams’ efforts into free agency so far?

VIERRA: 10. The Rams nailed their critical need in every way possible. I write it a lot, but the franchise spent over $200 million on their secondary. Kam Kinchens is a burgeoning star. Quentin Lake is as close to an on-field general as one could get. The cornerback room is able to defend against every receiver skillset and/ or archetype, and they bring the championship experience the defense lacked last season.

The Rams also made smart investments in their Special Teams. Expect big years from Ethan Evans and Harrison Mevis. The Rams didn’t close the gap between them and Seattle; they simply have a better roster. However, Mike Macdonald has outclassed Sean McVay arguably three times in a row, despite McVay winning the first matchup of 2025. McVay has no excuse; he must win in 2026.

Q: Remaining cap space, excluding cap for NFL Draft, what will be the focus, if any for roster needs?

VIERRA: Special Teams primarily to expect the annual Troy Reeder signing, especially after he proved to be one of the best Special Teamers on the roster. Potentially wide receiver. Backup quarterback and some depth on the line, likely on offense.

Q: If the Rams are in the wide receiver market wouldn’t it make sense to take a shot on Juwan Jennings. Would be a cheap signing I would think and not a bad 3rd option.

VIERRA: Cheap is a broad term in the NFL, especially for Jennings, as he turns 29 in July, so this might be his best window to get a strong, multi-year deal. I’ve written about this topic extensively, as Jennings makes a lot of sense.

It comes down to this. He’s an excellent three, a strong two, and a potential replacement for Davante Adams, while allowing the Rams to continue to develop Konata Mumpfield. But would Jennings be willing to take a one-year prove-it deal at a risk of being 30 next season? If so, I think he could be everything Robert Woods was, especially with Woods coaching him.

Q: Will Jimmy G be coming back?

VIERRA: Nothing confirmed, but highly likely. Garoppolo is beloved by the Rams, Sean McVay said he wanted him back, and the Rams do not seem keen on finding Matthew Stafford’s replacement in this draft or possibly any draft.

The Arizona Cardinals are the only team that could offer Garoppolo enough to leave, and talks have already soured, leading to a failure in negotiations. Unless the Cardinals want to re-engage in talks, Garoppolo’s signing is likely just a matter of time.

Q: Your take on Grant Stuard

VIERRA: Brilliant signing. The Rams are finally taking their Special Teams seriously. I remember years ago when I had a Bluesky account, someone called me out because I tracked kicker regression under Chase Blackburn, the Special Teams coach at the time. They accused me of throwing Blackburn under the bus, but the main point is that in the end, Blackburn wasn’t the answer, something the numbers have displayed for years, and it was time to clean house completely.

These issues, as documented, have been going on since at least 2023, and it wasn’t all Blackburn’s fault as the personnel also let the unit down. By signing Stuard and also Joe Cardona, this signals a new era where the New England Patriots’ standards will be the standard under new Special Teams Coordinator Bubba Ventrone. The Patriots are six-time champions and were in the Super Bowl last season because they avoid bad football. The Rams didn’t, but players like Stuard will set the standards at a high level, will ensure the unit meets and then exceeds them, and will not let them fall.

Ward mis-hiked a few balls. That came up during the season.

It was a big mess all around. From an article written during the season:

The field goal unit has struggled all year, whether it’s been the protection up front, the snaps or the kickers’ accuracy.

    Los Angeles Rams

Ahead of schedule since their sprint-rebuild in 2023, the Rams have not been shy about calling their intended shot in 2026, when their home city will again host a Super Bowl. Quarterback Matthew Stafford will be back on an adjusted contract. They believe they’ve fixed glaring issues in the secondary and on special teams. Though they invested significant money in their new cornerbacks, this roster is still mostly built through draft classes in 2023 and 2024. Those players will come due soon for paydays, and the Rams know they must go all-in to maximize this roster and their 38-year-old reigning MVP quarterback.
