Tom Bevan: These Five States Make Up Hillary Clinton’s New “Firewall”

    On Date September 22, 2016

    http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2016/09

….”The situation is this,” he continued. “Trump has moved ahead in North Carolina, Ohio and Iowa, and he is dead tied with Hillary Clinton in Florida. Even if you give all those states to him, he is still short in the Electoral College. The other five competitive states: Virginia, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Wisconsin, New Hampshire. We’ve got some data in showing that in those states Hillary Clinton’s lead is anywhere from five to nine points. So that is kind of her firewall, and unless Trump can breach that firewall, win one of those states, he is going to come up short on election day.”

I’m really hoping for this story-line — All these Non-brady-QBs win their games. And the Pats go 4-0 without Brady.

And then Brady comes in, and they lose 12 in a row.

    That would please me.

Rams are most boring team of the decade.

I enjoyed this article, immensely. Dunno why.

I know some folks dont see the Rams offense as ‘boring’ — they see it as young, or injured, etc. But my brain sees those things, and still goes right to BORING, as well.

Good lord, have they been BORING.

Call me crazy but i think spruce will help,
right off the bat. I think his skill set is much-needed,
and i think they can plug him in and get some third down conversions.

I dunno what they have in Cooper.

Sometimes i think my biggest criticism of Snisher is their lack of
interest in getting a good solid VETERAN WR. Heck, i would have signed Anquan Boldin, if i had been Snisher.

streaming through my brain. So many layers of ‘things’ are implicated.

    Corporate-Capitalism can reflect poignantly-infuriating stuff. And infuriatingly-poignant stuff….. sigh

And remember the stat that showed about 20 percent of Trump supporters thought Slavery was still a good idea or something like that. Forget that they are Trump supporters, just think about the fact that, that many citizens think that way. Thats a LOT of Americans thinking some hideously mean stuff. How did they get left so far…behind..in so many ways?

I’m just grateful when my brain fills up with this stuff, i can click a button and watch shark videos. Did you know 20 percent of sharks surveyed prefer eating Republicans…

The state level is much closer to the people. That cannot be denied.

    ———–
In wv the state-gov is owned and operated by ‘Big-private-sector’. Big Coal, Big Fracking, Big Pharma (Mylan), and a few others.

So, it may be closer ‘in theory’ but in reality the rich-folks run things at all levels. Fed, State, County, City. Its always been that way in the real world.

I would love to see America be a country where small businesses had equal influence with the big-private-sector-monstrosities, bnw. It woulda been nice if it had turned out that way. Making the Big-Government smaller wont save us. Cause it will not kill Big-Private-Sector. If you only kill half the problem, the ‘other’ half will just grow even more powerful and deadly. This is my fundamental problem with rightwingers. They only see half the problem. And thus their solution will lead to even worse corporate-monsters.

Well I think of it this way. He’s not a starting qb. Or, not starting caliber. So to me the question is, is he better than Shaun Hill or Chad Henne? If so by how much?

    ———

Yeah, ok. I think he’s a ‘little’ better than Shawn Hill.

Capitalism has failed both Trump and Clinton are clear evidence of that.

    ————–
I believe Marx said something about Capitalism making citizens ‘stupid’.

I believe that to be true.

    1. Little cute babies are born into corporate-capitalism.

    2. Corporate-capitalism makes them stupid by pouring misinformation, disinformation, propaganda and fear into their heads while omitting critical questions, issues and information. It also ‘distracts’ voters with all the usual media bullshit, as well as stressing the poor to a point where they are unable to think critically cause they are just trying to survive everyday. So you end up with a ‘bewildered Herd’ of voters.

    3. Thus Corpporate-capitalism wins cause the masses cant vote in their own interests cause they are too damaged by corporate-capitalism to know their own interests and too stressed to care. The poor are left with choices like Trump/Clinton and they vote for Trump/clinton and the game continues.

    4. And the Corporations, and Banks and Billionaires live happily ever after. Until the biosphere finally becomes too toxic to support even the rich, and all life withers and dies. Except for the crows and cockroaches. And Jesus looks down, and smiles, and says “It is good.”

    w
    v

“…Marx once wrote that one of the principle products of capitalism was stupidity. The shit that has regularly cascaded from New York in the last twenty years has performed admirably its task of keeping people stupid. What pride can be taken in a line which has given us Moral Fiction, Minimalism, the Literary Brat Pack and now Generation X? Commercial publishing has perhaps, not been as single-minded in this task as television, but books have offered no solace for, let alone an alternative to the egregious cretinism of mass culture.” Curtis White

Well the defense is about tenth or so, so, if the O can just move up eight or ten notches they will be challenging for a wildcard playoff spot.

I am somewhat optimistic that the O is gonna gradually start to figure out how to attack these over-stacked lines they are facing. And i think spruce and cooper will help.

I’m optimistic long-term. Just not sure they can evolve fast enough to make the wildcard round ‘this’ year. They might.

Well, i think its mainly the OLine, but i also
think the talent at the TE/WR positions have been mediocre.
Not terrible, but hardly scary to a good nfl defense.
And this year, Keenum is part of the problem. Is he or is he not one of the worst starting QBs in the NFL? Yes. He is.

Next year, i assume, a priority will be a talented WR.
Unless Spruce and/or Cooper really become a force.

The word “attack” is usually a misnomer when it comes to sharks and people.

They are really just encounters. In most cases, the shark bites and lets go. And usually disappears. It is rare when they attempt another bite. The reason for this is the shark isn’t actually trying to eat the person. Usually it’s not even aggressive. It is investigating the person. Trying to figure out what the person is. Sharks investigate unusual objects by mouthing them. They get a sense of what an object is through taste. The shark tastes a person, the person doesn’t taste like food, so the shark moves on. Unfortunately, even a gentle shark bite can be catastrophic to a person but think about how the vast majority of people survive ‘attacks’.

If the shark really wanted to eat the person, the person would be eaten and there’s little the person could do to prevent it. The fact that so many people survive these encounters is proof in and of itself that sharks typically aren’t interested in eating them.

Calling these encounters “attacks” contributes to the false but widespread perception that sharks are simply savage killing machines. That perception is an obstacle in the race to protect them from extinction and they are being slaughtered at a rate of 75 – 100 million per year.

    —————-

Well, I dont agree or disagree with that.

But my question would be, whats wrong with the way we taste?

I mean, why dont we taste good to sharks? Do we not bleed the same way seals do? Do we not have bones and guts the same as other creatures?

Maybe sharks dont like all those Genetically modified foods in us. Ever think of THAT.

Certain aspects of fan-culture are pretty universal, so some aspects of St.Louis fans and LA fans are the same. And then certain aspects of fan-culture are distinct to certain geographic areas and socio-economic spots.

I have no idea if there will be more fights in LA than in St.Louis. Maybe
there will be. And maybe the Coliseum crowds will be different from the new-stadium crowds. Dunno.

It would be nice if the Rams Organization tried to be classy in every way, including safety issues, water, prices, handicap accessibility, etc, etc etc.

Yeah, I think this is the game where the defense snaps out of its slump, and scores a touchdown. So the Rams could easily hit double digits, and put up a 10-spot. Maybe even 13.

Whoa, whoa there California boy. Let’s not go putting raisins in the salad just yet. Nobody said anything about THIRTEEN points. Whadda-you-think this is?..the heady days of Sam Bradford dinking and dunking in the great Spagnolo offense ? You think its easy to put up a 13 spot ?

I get the impression most of us have no idea whats going to happen.
Tampa is a mystery with a losing history and the Rams are a bit of a mystery. Also with a losing history.

Is there a number system or string theory where both teams could lose?

I mean if its, say, negative-ten to negative-ten would both teams lose,
or would that be a tie?

…oh piss on it — Rams 10 Bucs 5. Gurley gets over 100 total yards. Spruce adds a spark. Keenum doesnt do anything stupid all day.

Goodell has no power to change it. It’s done according to a rigorous formula. He can’t violate that just to show favoritism toward one team.
