wvParticipantRams are 7.5 point favorites over the Falcons.
49ers are 3 pt favorites over Bears (Bears have 4 players in the secondary either out or questionable)
Seahawks 7.5 favorites over Panthers
wvParticipantRavens just mauled the Packers on the ground. D Henry had over 200 yards. Packers the 7th seed now and would play at Chicago. (Rams #6, at Philly).
I dont know who the heck Malik Willis is, but he looked like Lamar Jackson last night for the Packers. They might have another franchise QB on their team. He’s only 6’1″ though.

wvParticipantYou know, of all those, my bet right now is they only keep Lake.
Well, I’m not sure anyone is gonna offer Havenstein a lot of money at his age, so maybe he resigns for one year?
Higbee is a tough one. McV has always loved him, but he might be costly. Then again, he’s injured a lot, so i dunno if a lot of teams are gonna offer him much.
After next season: Puka, Avila, B.Young, etc…. Best win another Ring next year.

wvParticipantLot of reasonable choices this year. My vote would go to Shannahan, i think.

The Rockefeller Christmas Tree Belongs to the Working ClassConstruction workers pooled their wages to erect the first Rockefeller Center Christmas tree in 1931, bringing holiday cheer to themselves on the job site. Their billionaire bosses co-opted the gesture, transforming it into today’s consumer spectacle….

wvParticipantSaw a stat. 9 NFL teams are 11-4 or better. Thats the most since the league went to sixteen games in 1978.
w
v
wvParticipantThere’s an article in the Baltimore Sun by Mike Preston, apparently, purty critical of Lamar Jackson.
“The breakdown of an NFL player’s body is natural, but Jackson could help himself,” Preston wrote in a column on Christmas Eve. “He doesn’t need to be up late at night playing video games or falling asleep in team meetings. He needs to train more around The Castle instead of only attending mandatory minicamps, where he disappears after one day.”
…
“A major problem, a lot of it on the Ravens, is that there are team rules and then there are rules for Jackson,” Preston writes. “That’s why Baltimore practices in the heat of the afternoon instead of in the morning.”
…“Once the Ravens become critical of Jackson, he becomes more withdrawn,” Preston writes. “It’s a shame because Jackson isn’t a mean-spirited person, just an overgrown kid in an adult’s body.”

wvParticipant“…That’s why, when Young goes shopping now, he doesn’t worry about standing in a long line. He spots the stressed-out kid behind the counter running the store by himself and wonders if he, too, ever dreams about becoming someone else someday.” Nate Atkins
I wonder if Nate Atkins realizes how fucked up these rags-to-riches capitalism stories really are?

wvParticipantExciting times.
Yeah, this is a good season. The storylines across the league have been good. Very competitive. Lots of lousy teams making a case for actually being good. Young QBs starting to click. Both NY teams still suck out loud, of course. New England is a story. Denver. Chicago. Jacksonville.
Daniel Jones resurgence. Mac Jones resurgence. The 49ers not only staying competitive, but actually threatening to take the #1 seed in the NFC in spite of their injuries. Sam Darnold’s comeback tour continues. The collapse of Philly and Kansas City. It’s been a good year.
The NFL has just got the perfect sports model. It really does.
One advantage it has over other sports is the number of regular season games. Every game matters more. Another advantage it has is that any single play can be a game-changer. No other sport offers that intensity.
Yup.
I think the NBA would be a lot better if they cut the season down to about 50 games.
w
v
wvParticipantThe chance of the 9ers losing to the Bears and then beating Seattle is not zero. The 9ers will face Chicago on a short week with both Kittle and Pearsall banged up, and McCaffrey coming off a game with 27 touches.
I could easily see each of those teams losing one of the next two.
Exciting times.
The biggest hurdle might just be Atlanta vs Rams. The Falcons are a weird team.

How the Rams can earn the No. 1 seedRams: Win out (at Falcons, vs. Cardinals)
49ers: Lose 1 of 2 games (vs. Bears, vs. Seahawks)
Seahawks: Lose 1 of 2 games (at Panthers, at 49ers)
Bears: Lose 1 of 2 games (at 49ers, vs. Lions)
wvParticipantin case anyone was wondering what happened with that draft pick the rams gave to the falcons….
I would be two dozen doughnuts that Raheem Morris is scheming up some special blitzes for that dude in this game.
w
v
wvParticipant49ers win on MNF.
Rams are now the 6th seed and would go to Philadelphia instead of Carolina.
49ers finally start playing good teams now, though. Next for them is Chicago, then Seattle.
w
v
wvParticipantI have tried to find out whether a 49er win over the Colts would move them above the Rams in seeding but i cant find a single site that addresses that particular issue.
But, leaving that aside, as of now :
NFC
1 seed. Seahawks (bye, homefield)
2 Bears host Packers 7
3 Eagles host 49ers 6
4 Panthers host 5 RamsBucs still in the hunt.
—AFC
1 Denver (bye)
2 Pats host Texans 7
3 Jags host Bills 6
4 Steelers host Chargers 5—
Rams have 10th pick as of today
wvParticipantCowherd on Puka — ‘Lot of Ego’
wvParticipantOMG, the Lions v Steelers ending. OMG.
w
v
wvParticipantWell, if the playoffs were now, the Rams would be at Carolina. Dunno if the 49er game tomorrow has an effect on that.
w
v
wvParticipantBills 23 Browns 20.
Josh Allen 11/18 for 122 yards, 0 TDs, 0 INTs, 2 sacks, 81.3 rating.
w

wvParticipantStats.

Puka 1,592 yards.But,

Njigba 109.1 yards per game.w

wvParticipantGames that matter today:
Bucs at Carolina
Falcons at Ariz.
Steelers at Detroit
==
MNF – 49ers at Indy.
(as of this morning, SFran would be at Philly in the playoffs)—
Josh Allen at Cleveland.w
v
wvParticipantI was kinda glad the Bears beat the Packers. Packers are 9-5-1 now, and the Rams wont have to ever go to Lambeau. Chicago is not a fun place to play, but I’d rather do that than Lambeau.
I’d rather they get another shot at Carolina than go to Tampa, btw.
w
v
wvParticipanti’d like for him to get it, but some people have questioned if an mvp award would be handed to a guy whose team finishes second or third in their division. i don’t know that that’s happened before or not.
i’m rooting for him though.
Well, the Bills probably wont win their division, either. I think as long as Stafford and the Rams finish strong, he’ll win it.
It would be nice if Myles Garrett sacked Josh about ten times.

wvParticipantNate Atkins@NateAtkins_
… I’ve covered this league for 10 years and never seen it and Sean McVay said he’s never seen it either..Oh, I’ve seen that kind of thing numerous times. And the players always react just like they did in the Rams game. They just start jogging off the field, until one player figures it out. Granted, I’ve never seen it happen on the goal-line but its happened plenty of times on other parts of the field.
It was the right call; i got no issue with it. But it was just damnable bad luck. And it might cost the Rams a ring. The consequences of that game were huge, as we know.
If the Rams were to play the Seahawks again, in Seattle, I’d pick the Rams. But I doubt they can win THREE road games in a row.

wvParticipantSeahawk LB suspended for the Carolina game.
wvParticipantI don’t agree that the kicking game is a problem.
I still think Mevis is okay. One miss is just something that happens…too soon to think kicking is a problem, IMO. It was the TD on a punt return that causes worry.
Basically STs lost them 3 games this year. After much thought and cold hard analysis, I have decided that my fully considered view of that is, that ain’t good.
Did you see the vid where one of the Seattle players talked about seeing a weakness on the Rams punt coverage team, and they capitalized on it. He said something about working on taking the return to the left or somethin like that.
w
v
wvParticipantThat little Kirk Cousins vid was great, i thought. It just highlights how F’ing hard it is to play QB. And then there’s guys like Brady or Stafford who, at times, make it look easy.
