ZooeyModeratorLet’s put this in context, OBJ out till December his 2nd ACL tear, Bobby trees coming off an ACL tear, Tutu coming off a season ending injury, Jacob Harris coming off a season ending injury. But yea we’re okay at WR did we forget Benny skow out there dropping tuddys? Cmon lol

ZooeyModeratorI’m surprised it doesn’t happen more often.
The sense of entitlement many of these guys have been developing since high school….

ZooeyModeratorI would prefer that the Rams keep Woods and draft a premier pass rusher in the sixth round.

ZooeyModeratorI’m not shedding tears for Van Jefferson, if he gets left out. Nice guy, whatever, made some plays, okay. But he hasn’t exactly created a legacy. I want more from that guy, and he can either give it to me, or go play for the Jets, or something.
And Atwell can go join the Hall of Shame along with Trung Canidate, Mike Schad, Greg Robinson, Lawrence Phillips, Wayne Gandy, Jimmy Kennedy, and Bill Hawkins.
ZooeyModeratorI can’t believe we have to wait until September to watch Allen Robinson catch touchdowns from Matthew Stafford 🙃 pic.twitter.com/F1tG7TdKbF

ZooeyModeratorThis isn’t a Rams tweet, exactly. More like a whiney-crying-49er tweet.

ZooeyModeratorHere is what Jim Everett feels.
Getting the feeling that the @RamsNFL value the forward pass more than any team in the #nfl! And are willing to acquire anyone involved with helping that aspect of their game. #PassFirstPlease

ZooeyModeratorDante Fowler, Jalen Ramsey, Blake Bortles and now Allen Robinson. The Rams have gotten more out of the 2017 Jacksonville Jaguars roster than the Jags did.

ZooeyModeratorI never heard of him, either, but he looked good in that highlight video. Goes over the middle, makes tough catches. I don’t know about YAC or making people miss, but he’s big, and catches the ball. He’s a good player. There’s a part of me waiting for the other shoe to drop, though. And I hope it ain’t Woods.
Kupp, Woods, OBJ, and Robinson is lethal, imo.
March 17, 2022 at 4:14 pm in reply to: Rams sign Allen Robinson… & the trade talk this sets off (Woods?) #137646
ZooeyModeratorOkay, this guy looks pretty good.
I did not see this coming. I hope this is just insurance, though, and not the end of Robert Woods.
March 17, 2022 at 3:52 pm in reply to: Rams sign Allen Robinson… & the trade talk this sets off (Woods?) #137645
ZooeyModeratorWTF is this? Is this guy any good? Does this say anything about Woods or OBJ?
Rams are giving former Bears’ WR Allen Robinson a three-year, $45 million deal that includes $30 million guaranteed, per source.
Rams still have money left over for Odell Beckham Jr. and hope to re-sign him, per sources.

ZooeyModeratorThe American mind is fascinating
Who thinks 20% of people are transgender? Or that 30% of Americans are Jewish?
ZooeyModeratorWell, I am bummed about Von Miller, though not shocked. He made a difference, and I’m not sure they would be SB champs without him.
But I also think that if they had Woods and OBJ and Higbee and Fuller, they woulda won anyway. Miller was the difference on a team that had only one leg left to stand on.

Cam Akers should be better next season.
I think they need to replace Miller with somebody, especially with Oko gone, too. They need another Edge. And secondary everywhere.
And fer gawd’s sake, they need a punter.
ZooeyModeratorI think it’s their fan base.
I think a lot of their fans are really skeptical of their ability to draft players, and to put together another run. The same fan base that was still glowing a couple of days ago.
I think there are people – and I’m not pointing any fingers at anyone who might live in coal country – who may as well dress in red and gold.
I think the Rams need an upgrade in the fan base. Maybe find some fans who don’t sleep in Eeyore bedsheets.
ZooeyModeratorHo-lee shit.
Well, if I’m Von Miller, I take that.
I don’t know how much is guaranteed, but damn. There is no way the Rams were in the ballpark of that. They probably were looking at 2, maybe 3 years.
ZooeyModerator======= 3, 4, 5, 6(2), 7(2) — 7 total picks. This will be the Rams weakest draft in many years, I assume. Barring some miraculous drafting. The Price for all the successful wheeling and dealing really kicks in this year, I guess. w v
Yeah, last time they had a draft that looked like that, this was all they could muster up out of it.

ZooeyModeratorThe Rams’ secondary was overflowing a couple of years ago. It’s now kind of thin.
Hopefully, Rochelle will be good.
And there will be other additions, I’m sure.
ZooeyModeratorI disagree though not in a major way. Back when the invasion of Iraq was building up, it was possible to debunk major narratives justifying it, such as the claim the WMD were likely to exist in Iraq. The MSM was not pushing that counter-narrative. Yet we (quite correctly) deduced that the dominant narrative did not hold up and that the opposite was far more likely.
That went through my mind as I was writing that post.
That was a case of the disinformation coming largely from the gov’t, though. The media acted as a stenographer in that case. It just seems now like we have a media that gets out in front of the story, manufacturing the BS themselves. The media seems to have morphed from pipeline of BS to generator of BS. The media itself is doctoring photos and videos, and so on.
ZooeyModeratorAll the usual power-blocs trying to control the narratives. …as an aside, I have come to call this the ‘post-modern-condition.’ Just my own term, i use inside my own head. Its the condition “I” feel because I can no longer trust 99 percent of the ‘info’ that I am assaulted with each day. I have no idea how much of this Jacobin article is ‘true’. So, I am left with what? Well, I still trust my ‘big picture’ ideas. For example Capitalism is destroying the biosphere. Capitalism is a sophisticated Lie-machine. Nation-States operate like Gangster states. Etc. I trust my ‘big picture’ notions (mostly. always open to modifications). But I do ‘not’ trust the more ‘granular’ info or specifics about ‘what is going on’ especially in real time. ‘post-modern-conditon’. An unsatisfying state of mind. For me. Always skeptical about the granular ‘info’ and narratives.
Same.
I was discussing this with my son on Sunday. My “sense” is that we used to be able to more-or-less believe that the media gave us facts, although they would frame the facts to represent the interest of the elite class. There has always been disinformation, but I used to believe that for the most part, we were given facts. The trick was to perceive the framing at work around those facts.
Now, MSM makes shit up themselves. It used to be just the corps and the gov’t engaged in disinformation. Now the media is making shit up.
This is a very big problem. Nothing is really reliable until 25 years later, and all the dust has settled, and people have worked hard to assemble the truth. Even that is imperfect.
So…we are left with the Big Picture.
Disturbingly, this leaves us feeling disconnected and powerless which, of course, is among the goals of the propaganda. Win as many minds as you can, and marginalize everyone else, one way or another.
But then a part of me doesn’t see much difference in whether I feel powerless under the weight of uncertainty about granular facts or not because I feel powerless anyway. Even if I could KNOW with a certainty what’s going on, what difference would it make? What are ya gonna do? Vote for Bernie?
It is literally impossible to stop the destruction. Tank Man was amazingly brave. How long did he delay the inevitable, though? You can’t change it by voting, and it can’t be changed by direct action either. Fossil fuels, banks, militaries, media, and the CIA (et al) are gonna do their thing.
The choice seems to be between being a martyr (which seems pointless), or just pick up a hobby to pursue until civilization goes over a cliff.

ZooeyModeratorI look forward to this time of year, especially.
Because I can watch what the suits do in the executive suite.
It’s in September, when the players take the field, that shit gets dull.
ZooeyModerator-Les trades a 5th rounder for a player another team gave up on.
-Said player starts 33 games over 2.5 years, helping team win a Super Bowl.
-Player leaves via free agency.

ZooeyModeratorAt this point, I’m kinda worried about the fans coming in all lazy, confident, and satisfied.
Gotta be honest, it’s one thing for y’all to ease up on the quality posting for a couple of weeks after the Super Bowl, but I feel like you guys need to pick up your game.
When I check in with this board, I expect there to be some fresh posts with quality content, and y’all still acting like there ain’t another Lombardi to run down from behind.
Gotta get hungry, my dudes.
ZooeyModeratorThis is good.
Even if Whitworth retires, I feel good about the OL for next year.
ZooeyModeratorBrian Allen returning to the Rams on a three-year, $24 million deal, per source.

ZooeyModeratorThe Rams also announced a two-year deal for C/G Coleman Shelton. No tender – a multi-year deal for Shelton, who not only can lend depth at C but also can play guard (the latter is pretty important).

ZooeyModeratorI dunno. I do think it would be helpful if people kept up the narrative that the Rams didn’t “earn” this Super Bowl because the bought it, and the NFL rigged it, and the refs gave it to them, and so on.
