This is probably not the high point of being a Seahawks fan.

That team is going to suffer this season. Likely 0-4 against the AFC West, and 0-6 against the NFC West. Oof. I might even feel sorry for them if I was capable of sympathy.

It’s good news, but I can’t help but feel like the Rams still have a glaring weakness at Punter.

Okay. Now go sign Gilmore and Clowney.

Yeah, Stafford was channeling TJ Rubley on that throw. That was “Backup QB on the Junior Varsity team.”

We will see next year. If he has games like that next season, then I will see him as a streaky QB. If he doesn’t, then I will see those games as a fluke stretch. Stafford was still getting familiar with his receivers, and he hit a stretch of good defenses consecutively.

Ya know, I have held a pretty positive attitude towards Aaron Rodgers most of his career. He’s a good player, and he grew up in my childhood home town.

But in the past year, his arrogance, sense of entitlement, and especially his dickishness to his teammates has been revealed. I heard some espn types talking about how aloof Rodgers is from most of his teammates, including Adams, with whom he had no relationship. They contrasted that with Brady who has worked the phones trying to get players to join him. Rodgers couldn’t be bothered to try to keep Adams, his only real weapon. Apparently, he’s the lord, and his teammates are the serfs.

So…I hope his career ends with irrelevancy.

I’m casting my vote that Matthew Stafford becomes the defining QB of the 20s.

The juxtaposition of Stafford and Goff does catch the eye, doesn’t it?

Well…I guess the Bengals could have made adjustments, and yada, yada, but that’s basically the way the game was going until OBJ went down. That’s for sure. I’ve said it before, but I think the Rams would have steamrolled the Bengals with OBJ.

Bobby Wagner. He’s looking for a one-year $11m deal, while the Rams are unwilling to meet the price. Jourdan had a piece that said the Rams were in the $5-6m range like a week or so ago.

Okay, so go get Gilmore or Clowney.

When I first saw this headline, my gut reaction was…”The 49ers front office doesn’t have any enticing offers on the table, and are trying to tease one out.”

Now, the latest rumor is that the 9ers may be forced to cut Garappolo.

    ProFootballTalk says this:

Earlier today, we looked at what the 49ers will do with quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. And here’s the reaction to the item was posted: the 49ers will have a hard time trading Garoppolo.

The problem arises from the full set of circumstances surrounding his situation. The biggest problem, as one league source explained it on Saturday, is the shoulder surgery Garoppolo underwent earlier this month. No one will trade for a quarterback with a $25 million compensation package after he underwent surgery to repair the labrum in his throwing shoulder, the source explained.

Throw in the fact that Garoppolo had the surgery without consulting with the 49ers, and it makes every team that otherwise would be interested in Garoppolo very leery.

Unless Garoppolo is willing to do a new contract as part of a trade (and why would he be?), a trade isn’t happened. The most likely result, the source predicted, is that the 49ers will have to cut him.

With none of Garoppolo’s salary becoming guaranteed until the eve of Week One, the 49ers can wait it out. But they won’t get cap relief without cutting him. And because he’s in the last year of his contract, cutting him would leave behind only $1.4 million in dead money — and it would instantly create more than $25 million in cap space.

So they may get nothing for Garoppolo other than cap relief. It’s a considerable amount of cap relief, but no assets from another team.

Seeing the name Jack Posobiec was enough for me to know it was a bogus ploy. He’s a well-known alt-right lunatic, and a truly despicable con man.

That name looks familiar. I think that is the guy who posted the picture and drew attention to the jacket. Somebody in my timeline retweeted it. I never heard of this guy before, but I clicked on the tweet to save the photo. My first thought was “photoshop,” too, but in looking at it, I thought it DIDN’T looked photoshopped. I just posted the picture, though, then went back and read the responses, so I jumped the gun on that. I coulda saved some time reading the responses first, but as I said, I didn’t think it was photoshopped. It was other people in the responses who posted the full video, and someone else posted the article about Edmonton firefighters visiting in 2017.

    However…

    There is this:

Edmonton firefighters return from Ukraine after delivering much-needed aid: ‘It was very rewarding’

Perhaps they left behind some gear?

So it looks like the photo is real.

    And the video is real.

And there was really somebody there with an Edmonton firefighting suit.

I think the media has now fully come to terms with the fact that they are the propaganda department. Media used to see itself as independent investigators, reporting the Truth. From time-to-time, they collaborated with Power to shape an “important” narrative, but still saw themselves as basically independent. That has eroded over time so much that I think now that no longer lie to themselves about that. They know their function is to spin stories, and it’s openly accepted. They don’t fool themselves into thinking they report objective reality. They weave it, and they know that’s what they do.

    For example.

Take a look at the back of the firefighter’s jacket.

Joe Greene, Jack Ham, Jack Lambert, Donnie Shell, Mel Blount…

    I’m just curious.

If your favorite player signs with the Rams, will that completely crush your neon green and blue heart?

FWIW, CBSsports has Allen Robinson as #1 on its list of best FA signings so far. The author is very high on Robinson, and think he is worth a top 5 WR contract, and he signed for much less.

Rochell may well be the answer. He, like Jones, showed promise, though we saw more of Jones and I think can be more confident in his future than in Rochell’s.

But…let’s say Rochell and Jones both emerge as solid players next year.

    They still need an Edge.

We do need help at Inside LB. We struggled against the run, especially up the middle. Wagner may be able to help with that. I still would consider signing Solomon Thomas to a one year cheap deal, to see if we can revive his career. As you know, players do look good behind Aaron Donald.

I think you’re right about that. I do think that it is reasonable to expect significantly more from Jones next season, though, and there is probably a guy who, paired with Jones, could help the Rams shore up the run defense for far less than what Wagner would cost.

You know, I think adding a stud is always a good thing, so I will be happy if they do sign Wagner.

But…if halfway through the season, teams are eating up the CB opposite Ramsey, and the Rams aren’t getting the pressure on the QB like they did the last part of this season…well…Ima be pissed.

I’d love to have Wagner, but I’d rather have Gilmore and/or Clowney.

But…I dunno. Maybe having Wagner in there to take away the run game is as useful overall as having an edge in there to give the Rams the overwhelming pass rush advantage.

    I don’t know.

I think the Rams have bigger needs at CB and Edge, but I won’t complain if they sign this guy. Good players are good to have, I’ve always believed.
