Part of that comes from the fact that ESPN has studios in LA. Eisen and Cowherd (by far their two best yakkers, imo) live and work in Los Angeles. They are going to know more about the Rams than they know about the Titans, especially the off-the-field stuff.

And of course the NFL wants the Rams to succeed in Los Angeles. This goes back to whatever I said about Kroenke’s vision right after the Super Bowl. The NFL decided to ride Kroenke’s vision back into LA. That was exceedingly clear when they were determining which team was going to go to LA. That was never not going to be the Rams. Kroenke had the developer experience, the property, and the pockets to do this. He built an incredible entertainment facility that includes not only a spectacular stadium, but studios for the NFL pregame stuff, and I think he had plans for a Hall of Fame West Coast Edition. There is a big theatre there for hosting events like the Oscars, etc. as well. He didn’t just offer the NFL a fancy stadium. He offered the NFL a glamorous complex, the kind of sexy that Los Angeles is known for. LA doesn’t even know what it has yet, in the Rams, but they will in time.

So, yeah, the NFL has a stake in the outcome of all this, and Kroenke deserves credit for hiring the right people to bring a championship to LA. Not only has he done that – and done it spectacularly with stars, the Rams are now threatening to emerge as the model franchise for the league. Both the Cowboys and Patriots should be looking in their rear view mirrors. The Rams are a threat to become the most valuable team in sports, imo. They have arguable already changed the team building model. Eisen and Cowherd recognize the Rams for what they are, even if the rest of the country is slow to catch on. These guys are not duped into believing the Rams “bought” a championship, a concept that doesn’t even make sense in the NFL which has a hard salary cap. They see bold, decisive moves that have worked, and they give credit where credit is due.

    Matthew not Matt.

But otherwise, yeah, it feels good to listen to that again.

    8. Rams traded away from him in 2012 draft.

It was worth it, though, because the Rams got Isaiah Pead.

they should know that 92% of House Republicans just voted against a standalone bill that would simply cap the cost of insulin at $35/month.

Everyone should also know that this is misleading.

The bill caps the co-pay at $35/month, not the cost. Uninsured patients will still get billed the entire amount, and Pharma will still charge insurance companies whatever they damn well feel like charging, and the insurance companies will raise premiums to compensate.

Just more performative bullshit from the Democrats.

The comments on this on FB where I found it were all focused on some point of grammar.

I think it will be Scott and Fuller. And that’s a promising combo.

Yep. Rapp is depth, and the Rams are going to be drafting secondary. What was a strength has been depleted, and it’s time for a reload back there. I think their starting 4 are good.

Nobody in the NFL has scored more touchdowns since 2016 than Todd Gurley (69). And remember…@TG3II didn’t even play a snap last season.

    Tyler – Super Bowl Champs@NewWorldMan9
I don’t think people understand how truly dominant he was. If he never had problems with his knee, he could’ve been a top 3 RB in NFL History

i think defensive back and edge come through the draft.  then again.  these are the mcsnead rams.  anything can happen.

Well, I’m thinking they may have some guys already who can be decent, if not spectacular. Terrell Lewis has been injured, but could he be good enough – with all these other guys drawing all the attention from blockers – to pressure the QB?

And Rochell looked pretty good to me. There is no reason to believe these guys are as good as their predecessors, but maybe they don’t need to be.

If Wagner comes in and shuts down the 49ers run game, maybe T. Lew creates enough problems for the puppy whathisface they are planning to start at QB. Maybe Rochell is as good as Williams.

And, frankly, my hunch is that Rochell will be better than Williams.

    So…I dunno.

All I know is that the Rams are better right now than they were 24 hours ago.

This is probably not the high point of being a Seahawks fan.

That team is going to suffer this season. Likely 0-4 against the AFC West, and 0-6 against the NFC West. Oof. I might even feel sorry for them if I was capable of sympathy.

It’s good news, but I can’t help but feel like the Rams still have a glaring weakness at Punter.

Yeah, Stafford was channeling TJ Rubley on that throw. That was “Backup QB on the Junior Varsity team.”

We will see next year. If he has games like that next season, then I will see him as a streaky QB. If he doesn’t, then I will see those games as a fluke stretch. Stafford was still getting familiar with his receivers, and he hit a stretch of good defenses consecutively.

Ya know, I have held a pretty positive attitude towards Aaron Rodgers most of his career. He’s a good player, and he grew up in my childhood home town.

But in the past year, his arrogance, sense of entitlement, and especially his dickishness to his teammates has been revealed. I heard some espn types talking about how aloof Rodgers is from most of his teammates, including Adams, with whom he had no relationship. They contrasted that with Brady who has worked the phones trying to get players to join him. Rodgers couldn’t be bothered to try to keep Adams, his only real weapon. Apparently, he’s the lord, and his teammates are the serfs.

So…I hope his career ends with irrelevancy.

I’m casting my vote that Matthew Stafford becomes the defining QB of the 20s.

Well…I guess the Bengals could have made adjustments, and yada, yada, but that’s basically the way the game was going until OBJ went down. That’s for sure. I’ve said it before, but I think the Rams would have steamrolled the Bengals with OBJ.

Bobby Wagner. He’s looking for a one-year $11m deal, while the Rams are unwilling to meet the price. Jourdan had a piece that said the Rams were in the $5-6m range like a week or so ago.

Okay, so go get Gilmore or Clowney.

When I first saw this headline, my gut reaction was…”The 49ers front office doesn’t have any enticing offers on the table, and are trying to tease one out.”

Now, the latest rumor is that the 9ers may be forced to cut Garappolo.

    ProFootballTalk says this:

Earlier today, we looked at what the 49ers will do with quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. And here’s the reaction to the item was posted: the 49ers will have a hard time trading Garoppolo.

The problem arises from the full set of circumstances surrounding his situation. The biggest problem, as one league source explained it on Saturday, is the shoulder surgery Garoppolo underwent earlier this month. No one will trade for a quarterback with a $25 million compensation package after he underwent surgery to repair the labrum in his throwing shoulder, the source explained.

Throw in the fact that Garoppolo had the surgery without consulting with the 49ers, and it makes every team that otherwise would be interested in Garoppolo very leery.

Unless Garoppolo is willing to do a new contract as part of a trade (and why would he be?), a trade isn’t happened. The most likely result, the source predicted, is that the 49ers will have to cut him.

With none of Garoppolo’s salary becoming guaranteed until the eve of Week One, the 49ers can wait it out. But they won’t get cap relief without cutting him. And because he’s in the last year of his contract, cutting him would leave behind only $1.4 million in dead money — and it would instantly create more than $25 million in cap space.

So they may get nothing for Garoppolo other than cap relief. It’s a considerable amount of cap relief, but no assets from another team.
