CBS Sports’ Zachary Pereles named Rams edge rusher Byron Young, who is now in a much bigger shadow with Garrett opposite him, as the Rams’ top under-the-radar breakout candidate for 2026.

It can be difficult to find an under-the-radar star on a team with so many very much on-the-radar stars, but Byron Young fits the bill here. He has already played very well — PFF had him as the No. 10 EDGE in the NFL last year — and now he’ll get a ton of one-on-one opportunities with Myles Garrett on the opposite side. Last year, Young notched 12 sacks and made his first Pro Bowl, but he probably wouldn’t come to mind if you had to list the Rams’ top stars. Still, he appears to be on his way to becoming one.

The Rams signed LB Tomon Fox.

He has 37 career games with 2 starts. He’s here to play special teams after he played 69% and 76% of the respective snaps over the past two seasons with the Giants.

With a new special teams coordinator, the Rams will be looking for players who can help improve a special teams unit that cost them games last season. While the Rams also signed Grant Stuard for that special teams ace role, Fox will be valuable to have on the practice squad.

NEW/BREAKING: MLB investigators plan to question Dodgers head doc Neal ElAttrache in wake of disclosure he supported Conor McGregor’s use of performance-enhancing drugs as he recovered from injury. ElAttrache is LA Rams team doc. NFL didn’t return message seeking comment on what NFL plans to do.

The UFC star Conor McGregor took powerful performance-enhancing drugs after he broke his leg in 2021. McGregor did so with the support of Dr. Neal ElAttrache, the Dodgers and Rams team doctor and one of the most high profile sports doctors in the world. McGregor then engaged in an active effort to evade scrutiny from antidoping officials.

Los Angeles generated a positive expected points added (EPA) on over 50% of its total handoffs in 2025, according to Pro Football Focus. The accomplishment marks only the second time in the PFF era, which dates back to 2006, that an NFL team has surpassed the 50% positive EPA threshold on rushing plays. Head coach Sean McVay’s 2018 squad, led by All-Pro running back Todd Gurley, was the first to establish the record.

The Rams had the best run-blocking unit in the league this past year and will likely return all, if not most, of their starting offensive linemen.

I wish Williams had breakaway speed.

I just – we’ve said it before – imagine Steven Jackson in this offense.
