znModeratorWhittington is kind of a huge blackpill for move-only TE prospects because he's only a fine WR and is a better, more versatile pure pass-catcher than almost every Tight End in the NFL when not adjusting for ease of role.
And he will dig out the nickel just as well as that TE https://t.co/i4yNyWzI0i pic.twitter.com/mdv22uk0WY

Sean McVay on Puka Nacua: “He’s making good progress. I am very optimistic about hopefully having him ready after the bye. I think it’ll serve him well and I have confidence in our other receivers to be able to step up.”
znModeratorRams-Jags statistical preview from @SumerSports features a lot of interesting stats, but not many obvious advantages for either team.
Something to look out for is the Jags’ use of 2 high safeties against a Rams team that has performed well against that look. pic.twitter.com/2sq6yIdmkP

znModeratorOn paper, it’s LA’s game, primarily due to the defense.
From that it looks like JAX is good in the red zone on defense, matching the Rams’ weakness.
But so are the Rams. Rams are better in the RZ on defense than the Jagz.
There’s this obscure little stat. NFL Team Opponent Red Zone Scoring Percentage (TD only) (here: https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/opponent-red-zone-scoring-pct )
Rams are ranked 3rd, Jagz are ranked 8th. For context, the Eagles are tied with the Jagz at 8th on this stat and the Rams put up 26 on them, which woulda been more if not for fumbled kicks and blocked runs in the RZ.
On offense for the same stat, Rams are 24th and Jagz are 20th. However, Rams get there more often. On NFL Team Red Zone Scoring Attempts per Game, Rams are 3rd with 4.3 per game and Jagz are 12th with 3.3 per game.
I would argue that all that taken together, on both offense and defense, is enough to favor the Rams (on paper anyway).

znModeratorThe shutdown wasn’t a glitch — it was the goal.
As soon as the government shuts down, Trump allies like Russ Vought gain sweeping authority to terminate, defund, or restructure entire federal agencies without congressional approval.
That’s why they pushed for it.

Matthew Stafford’s 124.2 passer rating in the fourth quarter is the highest in the NFL (minimum 40 attempts). His only season with a better fourth-quarter passer rating was the Super Bowl-winning season in 2021 (126.4).

znModeratorFrom SoFi Stadium to Camden Yards: How the Rams are preparing for London
Gary Klein
https://www.latimes.com/sports/rams/story/2025-10-14/rams-eight-day-road-trip-baltimore-london
The Rams will practice at Camden Yards baseball stadium this week after beating Baltimore, preparing for Sunday’s game against Jacksonville in London.
This extended road trip strategy has worked before: the Rams stayed in host cities before London games in 2017 and 2019.
BALTIMORE — Oriole Park at Camden Yards, the home of the Baltimore Orioles, is located a short walk from M&T Bank Stadium, where the Rams began an extended road trip on Sunday with a 17-3 victory over the Baltimore Ravens.
For much of this week, the baseball stadium will serve as the Rams’ home away from home as they prepare for Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium in London.
This is not the first time that the Rams have played an away game and then remained in the city before traveling abroad.
In 2017, coach Sean McVay’s first season, the Rams defeated the Jaguars in Jacksonville, Fla., and then stayed in town before traveling to defeat the Arizona Cardinals at Twickenham Stadium in London.
Two years later, the Rams beat the Falcons in Atlanta, and then remained there for a few days before traveling to London and defeating the Cincinnati Bengals at Wembley Stadium.
Several players said they would rely on the Rams’ training staff to help them modify weekly routines that include massage, acupuncture and other bodywork sessions with California providers outside of the organization.
Rams safety Quentin Lake noted that last season, the Rams stayed in Arizona for a few days before they played the Minnesota Vikings in an NFC wild-card game that was moved from SoFi Stadium because of wildfires in Pacific Palisades and Altadena.
“You’re in an unfamiliar environment and … it’s just the team and staff,” Lake said Sunday, adding, “Nothing truly is going to change in terms of our routine. … Honestly I love it because it’s fun.
“It’s fun for us to be in a different environment and really just lock in on football and focus on the task at hand.”

The Rams defense has not allowed a rushing play of 20 or more yards in 10 straight regular season games dating back to last season. It’s the longest streak for the Rams this century and the longest by an NFL team since the 2023 Vikings (13). The last NFL team to begin a season with a longer streak was the 2019 Vikings (seven).

In Warren McClendon Jr.’s 2 games, he’s allowed just 2 pressures on 76 dropbacks, via @NextGenStatsHis 2.6% pressure rate allowed is 5th-best in the NFL (min. 25 pass block snaps) & best among RTs.
If Havenstein doesn’t play Sunday, McClendon has shown he can fill that void.

McVay said Speights is making good progress, and that if all goes according to plan this week, he expects Speights to be ready to go for Sunday’s game vs. Jaguars in London

znModeratorOn Monday, Rams head coach Sean McVay spoke about that sequence of events and even compared Verse to a Marvel superhero.
“Once we did a great job, after Henry had a good run and a good surge, then two sneak attempts, and then for them to basically try to run kind of a lead play and for what Jared Verse did in that play was unbelievable,” McVay said. “That was Hulk-type stuff. He really checked into grown-man mode right there and did an amazing job, and I thought that catapulted just the momentum going into the half. It was a really strange game the way that it all unfolded, but our team found a way, and I think being able to win different types of games can be a strength as we continue to move forward… He’s just a man doing grown man things right there. It was just such a big-time stop by our group as a whole, and the collective responsibility on the second and third-down stops to get them to a fourth down, and really, it was great example all around. You can certainly feel that Jared Verse blew that play up at the point of attack.”
