I usually dont watch these little vids on players, but i watched this one today,
on Stafford, (I’m sure its posted somewhere on the board) and it is just startling how F’ing confident this guy is.

I dunno if we have seen this kind of QB-leadership-style since…..?

He just f’ing ‘owns’ this team.

Compare this (fairly or unfairly) to say, Bradford’s style. Or any other
Ram QB. (and I’m not sayin you have to have this or that ‘style’
but i am pointing out, Stafford’s confidence/style is startlingly
    ‘powerful’)

I would take Kupp and Woods. Ike and Torry were artistes but I just prefer the K/W physicality. Plus Woods has all the instincts of a running back when he’s running with the ball. Sees lanes, knows how to cut, etc.

I am actually feeling better about Jefferson this year. Last year he was much worse when it comes to being physical. I saw some alligator arms when he was catching in traffic last year. He’s not Woods or Kupp but he’s better than last year.

In terms of the OL, I see it as both. Stafford is a type of qb who can help out an OL. But then at the same time this OL is much more consistently solid than last year. It’s a good OL. Best in years actually. Better than 2018 I think. So to me it’s both things–this is a qb who can help the OL, and this is a good OL in their own right on top of it. I think one key difference is Allen. Best center play by a Ram for a long time.

    ============

I think i agree with all that…but think of what we’re saying on the Kupp/Woods
thing — Ike and Torry are probly both gonna be in the Hall of Fame.

    And we’d probly take K/W.

    Watched the replay last night.

Stafford and Goff head to head. Got to see what both do best, etc.
Goff made some great throws as per usual, but he just cant
zing the ball accurately to all corners of the field like Stafford.
The talent difference is just striking.
Goff is good, Stafford is elite. Makes a huge difference.

I loved the Lion defense. They were all over the field, hitting hard,
making great plays. Fierce, swarming, effort. Seems like they just
need some weapons on offense and to get some guys healthy and they’ll be good.

Kupp is fun to watch. Stafford’s talent really brings out the best
in Kupp. I am still skeptical about Kupp lasting an entire season though.
But if the rams make it into the playoffs healthy, I think they are the NFC
favorites. I would not pick against them.

I’m slightly disappointed in Van Jefferson. I was expecting him to get
better separation, and be more physical. He’s ok, but not what i was
    hoping for.

Looked like the Lions did a good job on Donald all game long,
cept for one play, and that play cost them the game. Lions are cursed.

The OLine is playing better than I expected, and its wonderful,
but i think a lot of it has to do with Stafford. I think all the little
things he does make all the other parts work better.

Robert Woods just made a bunch of tough, hardnosed, football plays
out there. Kupp and Woods might just be the most ‘complete’ WR pair
the Rams have ever had. And that is saying a lot. Would you rather have
Kupp and Woods or Ike and Torry? I dunno.

Mark Sanchez is my new favorite announcer. I loved his insights
on the game. A guy like Higby would make a catch, and Sanchez would point
out that the route should have been crisper, etc. Good stuff.

Dallas, Packers, Cards, Rams, Bucs — Some fine teams in the NFC.

RAMs are 15 point favorites. 15 points. Thats ridiculous.
The Lions have played a lot of games that could have gone either way.

They had the RAVENS beat. A bad call cost them the game.

That spread annoys me so much, I’m taking the Lions
    to win, outright.

Lions rush for 200 yards, and win:

    Detroit 17
    Rams 13

“It’s easy (with Stafford) because what happens is if I’m wrong, he still has a chance of making it right. And those are the things you’re looking for. If it’s there in the timing and rhythm, let’s be as close to automatic as possible. But I think the guys that really separate themselves are the ones when it does go a little bit off-schedule, you have the ability to make it right.”
And to my eye, Goff is not one of those guys…”
    ==========

Its interesting that watching the vids from Goff’s college days, back
when it was “Wentz vs Goff”, it sure looked to me, like Goffs
STRENGTH was throwing off balance and making great ‘off schedule’ plays.
    Thats why I liked him.

But in the Pros, it just didnt turn out that way.

Now, it wouldnt surprise me, if down the road, as Goff matures
and spends some time as a back-up (which is going to happen)
he makes a comeback and plays very well for some good NFL team.

But it sure dont look like he has the supporting cast to
    be good in Detroit.

Throw in mass media, owned by plutocrats and oligarchs, and they desperately want the duopoly too, so they’re never going to really tell the truth about how horrible the GOP is relative to the horrible Dems..

    ==

One of the things i think about, is this: If a critical-mass of people somehow,
by magic, ‘woke up’ and developed a higher-political-consciousness, or
‘class consciousness’ or whatever you wanna call it — and there was a real
possibility of the nation tipping toward actual-socialism — What do you think the Democrats would Do? Or, lets say the Dems had a choice between Socialism or Fascism — which way do you think they’d top?

    I know what ‘i’ think 🙂

    I basically agree with zooey.

Dem-party cant topple the Rep-Party cause both
are Capitalist-Parties. Essentially, that is it.

    They share fundamental capitalist ideology.
It would be like asking capitalism to get rid of capitalism.

How many Dems really seem like, ‘Dems’ anymore?
How many Dems seem like ‘moderate’ Reps?
Can anybody really tell the difference anymore?

But there’s also this: Somewhere close to 35, 40 or maybe even close to 50 percent of the nation shares the Rep-Party version of Capitalism.
Thats a lot of proto-fascism, or whatever you wanna call it.

I think people liked Woolford cuz they didnt like Goff.

Now that the Rams have Stafford, I think
the Woolfordites will change their tunes.

The ’22nd in rushing’ stat is interesting.

They dont have a dynamic, explosive running game, like, say
the Browns, but it looks to me, like maybe its “just good enuff.”

I think if Goff was Quarterbacking they would be 28th, btw.
Stafford forces teams to defend the whole field. Has to help
the running game a little, I would think.

Henderson looks like a good ‘complimentary’ back. Not a work-horse.
Sony Michel looks very ordinary to me.

Situation makes me think about the GSOT. All those outside-weapons, a Hall of Fame QB, AND a Hall of Fame RB/WR/player-coach. Are you kidding me?

You and your Seahawk compatriots at wikipedia can try to minimize the accomplishments of the Rams all you want, but I won’t stand by and let your fake news go unchallenged.

Merlin Olsen played in 56 Pro Bowls, not 14. Elvis Peacock is second with 54. Look it up.

The Rams record for sacks in a game is 47, and they did it 27 times, most recently last Thursday against your beloved Russell Zorn.

And somehow your NFL historical “scholars” completely overlooked this little tidbit…

“The NFL team record for safeties in a game is three, which all occurred when the Los Angeles Rams recorded 3 against the New York Giants on September 30, 1984. The individual record is two, by the Rams’ Fred Dryer against the Green Bay Packers on October 21, 1973.”

    ====

In NONE of those games, were ANY of the players vaccinated
for Covid. ALL those records were set by Un-Vaxt players.

I think my point is quite clear.
