“…On May 2, 2015, the New England Patriots selected Cardona in the fifth round (166th overall) of the 2015 NFL draft,[7] making him the fourth pure long snapper to be drafted in NFL history (and the second drafted by the Patriots, after Jake Ingram).[8]
…He was a contributor to the Patriots as they defeated the Atlanta Falcons by a score of 34–28 in overtime.[14][15] Cardona had an active role in the game on seven special teams plays.
..On March 21, 2023, Cardona re-signed with the Patriots on another four-year contract extension worth $6.3 million, making him the highest-paid long snapper.[21]
September 2, 2024, Cardona was announced, for the first time in his career, as a team captain for the Patriots
wvParticipantHey, now. The Saints just signed Travis Etienne, and the Chiefs already got Kenneth Walker.
Who the hell is going to draft Jeremiyah Love?
Titans or Commanders it looks like.

Juszczyk,
McCaffrey,

Mike Evans.Not bad.

wvParticipantUSA today Mock after the McDuffie signing:
…12. Dallas Cowboys – Mansoor Delane, CB, LSU
If Delane is still available when Dallas first comes on the clock, there shouldn’t be too much of a debate within the Cowboys’ draft room. The consensus All-American has developed a mastery of man coverage, which would open up plenty of possibilities for new defensive coordinator Christian Parker to mix and match his scheme to his available talent.
13. Los Angeles Rams (from Atlanta Falcons) – Kenyon Sadiq, TE, Oregon
Dealing for McDuffie reinforces that the Rams are all in on maximizing NFL MVP Matthew Stafford’s remaining window. Taking Sadiq, a matchup nightmare still requiring some polish, might not seem fully aligned with that mentality. But Sean McVay and Les Snead were previously enamored a hybrid tight end in Brock Bowers, and Sadiq could feast in an offense that came to embrace using three tight ends.
wvParticipantThis draft is like the opposite of 2000, where they knew they had a contender and then blew all their picks.
The only thing I know in advance I would not like is taking Ty Simpson at 13.Ah yes. 2000. The Worst Player Available strategy.
w
v
wvParticipantOld age. Yup.
wvParticipantToo much St Augustine.
wvParticipantMina: “Oh Wow!”
wvParticipant
wvParticipantSo, now they draft a CB with the 13th pick, right?
w
v
wvParticipantChiefs lost their safety Bryan Cook to the Bengals.
Apparently, the Chiefs are just gonna play Defensive Linemen and Linebackers. Spags is tricky that way.
w
v
wvParticipant49ers get Mike Evans.
w
v
wvParticipantSam Monson@SamMonsonNFL
The Rams now basically have 1) no holes on the roster, 2) draft capital to play with and 3) a history of trying to trade UP for players in the last couple of drafts.—
Yeah, it would not surprise me at all to see them trade up, now.
w
v
wvParticipantSeattle also loses a starting Safety/CB. Coby Bryant signs with Bears.
w
v
wvParticipantNice to see the Seahawks lose Ken Walker Jr, to the Chiefs.
Charbonnet had the ACL tear, so he might not be ready to go at the start of the season.w
v
wvParticipantPrisco had Jaylen Watson as the no.4 free agent on the market. Behind only Tyler Linderbaum, Trey Hendrickson and Alec Pierce
w
v
wvParticipantWell, its not Vonn Miller and OBJ, but its still another ‘All-In’ year for McSnead.
After they go 17-0 and then shut-out the Bills to win the Super Bowl,
I just hope they dont implode the next year, like they did last time they went All-In.w

wvParticipantIt would be interesting to see splits between Snead’s ‘stats’ with Fisher and then McVay.
Also, I never hear much about Kansas City’s GM, Brett Veach. I hear a lot about Lynch, Schneider, Roseman and Snead.
But the Chiefs have been the most successful team by FAR the last decade. I would think Veach has something to do with that.
w
v
wvParticipant“who likes the Packers??”
wvParticipantCan he be compared to Brady? I think in purely abstract terms yes. But then Brady was in New England getting rings and Stafford was in Detroit getting injuries. So that will always tilt the discussion.
The Stafford vs Brady game at Tampa in 2022 had to be one of the greatest games in Ram history.
Matthew Stafford (LAR): 28/38, 366 yards, 2 passing TDs, 1 rushing TD.
Tom Brady (TB): 30/54, 329 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, 1 lost fumble.Cooper Kupp (LAR): 9 receptions, 183 yards, 1 TD.
Mike Evans(TB): 8 receptions, 119 yards, 1 TD
===========The Regular season game at SoFi. Rams 34 Tampa 24
Matthew Stafford (LAR): 27/38, 343 yards, 4 TDs, 0 INT
Tom Brady (TB): 41/55, 432 yards, 0 TD, 0 INT
—
Cooper Kupp (LAR): 9 catches, 96 yards, 2 TDs
DeSean Jackson (LAR): 3 catches, 120 yards, 1 TD
Tyler Higbee (LAR): 5 catches, 38 yards, 1 TD
wvParticipant
wvParticipantEmmanuel Acho (who played for the Browns and Eagles) has never raved about Stafford like THAT before. Jeezus.
I’m glad he started with the throw in the windy cold chicago weather to Davante. In clutch time. In a playoff game. Just ridiculous.
As was the no-look throw over the middle to Kupp in the Super Bowl.
Stafford, like Aaron Donald is a Hall of Famer.
Are we allowed to wonder if he is ‘better than Brady’ ? I suppose not.
w
v
wvParticipantFrom the Rodrigue NYT article above:
“…A senior front-office source shared examples of some of his own team’s tags, which appear as small pictures within the reports in their system:
Bounce dryer sheets — player lacks bulk, strength
Picture of a raw steak — raw player
Orange juice carton — player has juice
Pacifier — player is immature
T. rex — player has short arms
Eddie Haskell — team feels player is not being honest
Stick figure — player weight is below a certain threshold …”
w
v
wvParticipantBack in my day, we had a sophisticated offense too. (from the coryell tree)
It was: ‘Go down and out, to the Left’ or, ‘Go down and out, to the Right.’
w
v
wvParticipantmy one worry. he’s supposedly elite at the slot but only good outside, and he’s going to have to play on the outside with the rams.
I think they will move him around, inside, outside. I mean, why not.
Hybrids and flexible players seem to be more important than ever.

wvParticipantI must say, the Rosenthal-Rodrigue-Claybon-Wolfe vid is fun as it meanders along. References to Chekov, the Gutenberg Bible, the apocalyptic novel ‘The Bear’ (in which the Protagonist is eaten. Claybon asks if this is a ‘metaphor for colonialism’) and author George Saunders.
Go Rams
w
v
wvParticipantRodrigue: “Great for the Rams because they can’t draft corners”
w
v
wvParticipantRodrigue, Rosenthal.
wvParticipantI’m not a Kyler Murray fan, but saw this stat. He has the 6th most passing yards since 2019.
He was behind only: Mahomes, Dak, Herbert, Josh, Lamar.
