I definitely want to see a FA Center. I also want to see Hav staying at RT and GR going to guard.

I want to see growth from the QB position. Once that happens, wins will follow.

    —————–

Yeah, I’ve had it with GRob at tackle. I dont ever wanna see him at Tackle again.

I think i posted that one a while back. Not sure though.

The most interesting part of that vid to me is the ole-guy who was pro-trump, but said he voted for ‘the black guy’ twice. A lot of folks voted for Obama — and then Trump.

I dunno. At this point it all looks like re-arranging deck chairs on the Titanic.

Yes, it’s over. I have to fight the urge to say that in almost every single thread on this board because it’s the bottom line of all of it – climate, banking, energy, voter suppression, you-name-it. It’s over.

    ============

Yeah, thats why i am such a board-curmudgeon these days. I see all this info being posted on this or that issue and yes, its interesting and often accurate, etc, whether its fracking, climate-change, growing inequality, destruction of democracy, pollution, Trump, Hillary, NeoLibs, NeoCons, what-have-you — but i just wanna reply to every post — What the fuck difference does it make. It’s over.

I just dont see any way out of this. The people keep voting for Corporate-Dems and Corporate Reps. They dont have to.

One is compelled to believe that the masses have had their brains colonized by the corporotacracy. So the numbers for revolution or meaningful change just are not there. And theres zero reason to think they will ever be there.

And the environment gets worse every day.

One question I have yet to see be discussed is how a billionaire can ethically be a politician in the first place. ..

    ————–

Yes, of course you are right. And of course its never discussed in the MSM — and if it WERE to be discussed you KNOW how they would ‘discuss’ it — they’d bring in a handful of billionaires and/or CEO’s and/or ‘think-tankers’ and/or other ‘safe’ guests to discuss it.

Its over, Zooey. The scoreboard reads 99 to 1. Bernie being the one.
There is no coming back from 99-1.
I mean there has never been a time when there was MORE information about what was going on. Theres books, films, documentaries, the internet — its all full of accurate information and descriptions of the situation — and….its still…99 to 1. Information no longer matters. Game over. The dems and reps will trade chairs until the end.

Is there a point you’re trying to make with the naked photo of Jeff Goldblum?

If it’s that he turns into a giant fly which therefore disputes my dissertation on the size limiting respiratory systems of insects and spiders keep in mind that he was only half a fly. To survive after the hybridization process he must have retained his human respiratory system.

    Nice try though.

    ———————-
Seems to me the name of the movie was the FLY,
    not the HALF-FLY.

But you go ahead and try to sell your fake-insect-news
on this board. See how far you get.

Good short interview with Noam. He played cowboys and indians when he was a kid, btw:https://zcomm.org/znetarticle/most-of-the-world-is-just-collapsing-in-laughter-on-claims-that-russia-intervened-in-the-us-election/

“…So what’s the purpose of NATO? Well actually we have an official answer. It isn’t publicized much, but a couple of years ago, the secretary-general of NATO made a formal statement explaining the purpose of NATO in the post-Cold War world is to control global energy systems, pipelines, and sea lanes. That means it’s a global system and of course he didn’t say it, it’s an intervention force under US command, as we’ve seen in case after case. So that’s NATO. So what happened to the years of defending Europe from the Russian hordes? Well, you can go back to NSC-68,6 and see how serious that was. So that’s what we’re living with….”

    I liked this one:http://www.leftvoice.org/A-Few-Words-on-Marxism-and-Identity-Politics

    “….
…….I am a black man of working class background, I am also a Marxist. Frankly, if you tell me that struggles against racism need to take a backseat to whatever overgeneralized idea of working class struggle you’re advocating, I’m going to tell you to eat a bullet. Stop using Marxism as a cover for your personal discomfort at having to talk about race, gender, or sexuality. Marxism is scientific, so suggesting that specific struggles based on race/gender/sexual identity are of lesser importance in a society built on the subjugation of race/gender/sexual minorities isn’t just bad politics, it’s outright contrary to the idea of Marxism.

We have to realize that the struggles we are facing are, in fact, intersectional (I know you hate that word, probably about as much as I hate whitewashed Marxism). What we should bring to light, however, is that it’s not just about the intersection between racial, gender, and sexual identity, but between all those AND class identity. We need to put forward a new, Marxist identity politics that recognizes the special oppression that comes with race and the consequent importance of fighting racism head-on, but also emphasizes that the interests of the bourgeoisie and petit bourgeoisie of color are just as hostile to working class POC as the interests of the white bourgeoisie are and that the interests of bourgeois women are still hostile to the interests of working class women. Class and identity are not mutually exclusive: black and brown workers’ struggle is workers’ struggle; working women’s struggle is workers’ struggle; LGBTQIA workers’ struggle is workers’ struggle. The sooner some of y’all come to realize that, the sooner we can rise up together and overthrow this capitalism bullshit for good. Now, let’s do better….” see link

    another view:http://nova.wpunj.edu/newpolitics/issue22/kelley22.htm

“… Besides assuming that the “universal” is truly “self-evident,” the neo-Enlightenment Left cannot conceive of movements led by African Americans, women, Latinos, gays and lesbians, speaking for the whole or even embracing radical humanism. The implications are frightening: the only people who can speak the language of universalism are white men (since they have no investment in identity politics beyond renewed ethnic movements arising here and there) and women and colored people who have transcended or rejected the politics of identity. Moreover, they either don’t understand or refuse to acknowledge that class is lived through race and gender. There is no universal class identity, just as there is no universal racial or gender or sexual identity. The idea that race, gender, and sexuality are particular whereas class is universal not only presumes that class struggle is some sort of race and gender-neutral terrain but takes for granted that movements focused on race, gender, or sexuality necessarily undermine class unity and, by definition, cannot be emancipatory for the whole.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not giving priority to “identity politics” over the struggle to dismantle capitalism and to build a world we’ve never seen before — a world free of market forces and all the terrible things that go with it. Rather, I have trouble with their characterization of race, gender, and sexuality as narrow identity politics while “class” is regarded as some transcendent, universal category that rises above these other identities. Indeed, Gitlin calls the first three, “birthrights,” and despite an obligatory nod to Anthony Appiah, he fails to treat these categories as social constructs that have enormous consequences for how class is lived. Along with these so-called “identities” come regimes of oppression. Are churches being burned because black people are alienating white folks? Is that why the Justice Department focuses much of its investigation on black congregations rather than white supremacist groups? Is pro-Prop 187 sentiment and callousness toward immigrants the result of Mexican and Central American immigrants’ refusal to be “inclusive?”

I FIND THE NEO-ENLIGHTENMENT POSITION INCREDIBLY PROBLEMATIC GIVEN WHAT WE K…” see link

I’ve said this since the election. I do not think Trump will make it through his complete term. (Well, I said 50/50). But I think the odds are getting worse for him.

Watch those Maddow videos I posted yesterday or the day before. When Reuters and AP start referencing that stuff, Trump’s presidency will be put on life support.

    ————-

Well i hope you are right, but my own crystal ball sez its more likely Trump will get eight years as Prez.

It is very difficult to imagine, at this point, that there is not a significant problem.

I no longer think we are looking at just the sole act of dumping DNC emails in an effort to tip the scales towards Trump. This isn’t just about a foreign policy preference.

There is an entire tangled web of financial shadiness happening here, and I can’t see the administration surviving an honest inquiry. Even if the financial stuff is all “legal,” there are clearly significant ties here that completely compromise Trump’s ability to be impartial on behalf of the USA. He is in this up to his neck in all likelihood, and clearly Tillerson and Ross are without question.

    ————
Well Its not that i disagree with your description of the ‘tangled web of financial shadiness’ but…I dont thihk the the ‘american people’ are gonna care.
I mean Trumps base certainly wont care. And the Dems have zero credibility themselves so whatever they do will look like the usual partisanship-games.

I just think we are past the time when a President can be impeached. The entire system is now BASED on corruption and money and money-influence. The SYSTEM should be ‘impeached’ but it wont be.

Frankly, i think Trump would be more likely to get in trouble for a sex scandal or some BS crap like that. THAT might annoy the voters. Ah well.

    Interesting about Aristolochia

“…Kabat tells a fascinating detective story. Doctors in the Netherlands were seeing an epidemic of kidney disease, and they traced it to a mixture of Chinese herbs used at a local weight loss clinic, eventually determining that a toxic herb, Aristolochia, had been inadvertently substituted for one of the intended herbs. The pathology was reminiscent of that seen in a mysterious disease that spottily affected certain villages in the Balkans, and they eventually figured out that Balkan endemic nephropathy was caused by contamination of wheat supplies with a weed, Aristolochia. They found that aristolochic acid modifies DNA and causes a unique mutational signature, leading to kidney cancer many years after exposure. Also known as birthwort, Aristolochia is a widely used herbal remedy in China. Taiwan already has the highest rate of kidney disease and kidney cancer in the world, and it is estimated that 100,000 people have been exposed to the toxin and are at risk of developing kidney cancer down the road. More than 100 products containing Aristolochia can be purchased on the Internet. This is a cautionary tale: delayed toxic effects of herbs were missed by herbalists for centuries. So much for “natural” and “ancient wisdom!” Of the 51,000 new dietary supplements introduced since 1994 under DSHEA, only 0.3% have any documentation of their safety. There may be other Aristolochias waiting to be discovered…”
