“Everyone and everything is corrupt. I don’t care what Trump does. It’s just more of the same old same old. In some ways, I even find him refreshing. We have bigger things to worry about.”
    =================

Hmmmm. Well, thats purty close to where I’m at.

I dont think ‘everything’ is corrupt, but I think at the National level the American Government is almost-totally-corrupt. Remember the Senate scorecard — 99-1.

    99 to 1.

    99 owned by big-money. 1 not.

Its a dark, unsettling, ugly, un-hopeful view. I admit that. Not a fun view to hold.

I would like to have a different view. But….

Is there a yapper who deserves a paycheck less than Skip Bayless?

I’m not sure that anybody on the planet takes him seriously.

Well, his wife might take him seriously. I dunno.

    6’3″ 258 Lbs. He’d be kindof a tweener in today’s game.

Anyway, what that article left out was his acting ability. Much like Jim Brown, and unlike Chris Massey, the man could act:

“He made a cameo appearance as a substitute teacher in the ABC sitcom “Welcome Back Kotter”.

    Christopher Todd Massey.

It’s unbelievable that it needed to be said, but wv spends his Sundays watching the 49ers, so it’s not surprising.

    ===================

Look, I just have to be honest. I’m not sure Chris Massey was quite at Jim Brown’s level. I know its close, but I might have to give the edge to Jim Brown.

I mean, Brown was in Movies. Classics. I think he was in McHales Navy, er somethin. Jackie Brown vs Godzilla. The Dirty Toaster. Somethin. I forget, but I know he was in movies. Massey couldnt act.

I wonder if he’ll give us another video where he’s jumping around “I’m Free, I’m free!”

    So who’s next? 49ers?

I suppose he has to ‘get counseling’ first. Or some sorta agent-arranged ‘rehabilitation.’

Luckily for us, these decisions will be made by, Corporate Weasels, and their Corporate-Art Departments.

    What could possibly go wrong.

Maybe the Walmart Smiley Face superimposed behind the horns.

Maybe just a dollar sign on the helmet,
only the dollar sign can have a horny curly-Q on it.

IF Jim Brown plays, the Browns have a good chance.

I was thinkin about Jim Brown the other day, when i listened to Weddle talk about Aaron Donald. Weddle said he was the best football player he’d ever played with, period. I started wonderin which players had risen to a completely different ‘level’ than the other players. Jim Brown did. Who else? I dunno, but maybe Aaron Donald is in that class. Maybe. When he’s healthy.

Rams are three point faves according to one site i looked at.
(Seattle is favored by four over the Saints; 49ers by 6.5 over Pitt — Cowboys are 21 point favorites over the Dolphins. WTF??)

I have no feel for the Browns, or this game. I got nuthin. But I trust the Rams defense, as long as AD is healthy. I’m gonna assume he’s ok.

i wanna see if these qbs can hold up physically.

i think that’s the main problem.

    —————–

I tend to agree with the three NFL players in the vid. I think the future is gonna be tilted toward the running-QBs. For the reasons they talked about — simply more and more running-QBs coming out of college.

The smart ones will last. The ones that run-and-then-slide. Like Russell Wilson. The one’s that have the macho-streak will end up like RGIII.

Granted there will also, always be drop-back QBs. Its just that the trend is gonna be toward more athletic-QBs. I think.

Looks about right. Pats and Chiefs essentially the top two in the AFC. Rams and Cowboys in the NFC. And if Brees comes back, the Saints are right there. Packers look interesting, too.

Yes it’s inevitable. The Rams were the most studied offense going into 2018.The OL is not dominant like it was in The past. Staying on last season they played 19 games including 3 playoff games so no one is asking Sean who? Still they get their share of chunks. The OL will get better and Goff gets more time. You would think the saints were game planning for that game as soon as the schedule came out.

    ==================

Is it my imagination or are teams just taking away Gurley’s chunk plays completely, more or less.
Theyre gonna make Goff beat them.

He’s day to day. It’s his oblique. That could be a strain or a pull or something.

Well I hope thats what it is. Why were we told it was his ‘back’ ?

Can we trust them to tell us what it is? They were purty cagey about Gurley.

. . . along with helping to save the planet. Sadly, it’s not radical enough. But it’s a huge step in the right direction. Those who argue against it on matters of costs are, at best, incredibly ignorant. At worst, cynically manipulating the general ignorance of Americans.

Well to me, that article raises fundamental questions about the revered ‘Constitution.’

And my question is, IF this constitution allows the poisoning of poor people, so that rich people can profit, then what the hell is the point of it? Etc, and so forth.

“….As National Review’s David French (a former Ivy League law professor as well) recently detailed: “Time and time again, the pattern is the same. She’ll push regulatory authority beyond the statutory limit. She’ll push statutory authority beyond the constitutional limit. In so doing, she’d represent the next stage in imperial presidential evolution — reaching beyond both President Obama and President Trump…”
    —————-

So the solution is what? Allow fracking to poison poor people and animals and plants for decades in Appalachia, because corporations profit from it?

What exactly is the ‘constitutional’ solution to corporate-poisoning of places like West Virginia?

Big game between Seattle and New Orleans coming up. Interesting matchup, important consequences.

I thought Bridgewater did very well against the Rams. He was victimized by drops and penalties. Several important positive plays were called back.

I think the Saints will still be a force in New Orleans, but on the road, without that crowd, i dunno. Seattle game will tell us a lot about the Saints.

What do others think? What’s the “informal poll” on that?

well like i’ve maintained. i think goff regresses statistically.

too many things were going his way before and now he’s got oline issues. sully isn’t there to help him. the oline overall is not as good as it was in previous years. plus defenses have hours of tape on him and two offseasons to look for weaknesses, which he will have to counteract.

this isn’t the biggest deal. almost all qbs go through this.

the important thing is that mcvay and co not panic, but i really doubt that they do panic.

    =============

Let us all hope Aaron Donald’s back problem is not a real back problem. Ya know.

I dont wanna see him giving 110 percent of 70 percent. Or somethin.

“Well, this is certainly a first – for me to post two new threads in the SSF in the same day (or month, or year) but this whole thing has me doubting what I have believed for over 50 years.

I love our team, the guys, what they do for the community. I love what they appear to stand for. I love my fellow fans.

But is it all in vain? Is the stress and strain of unrequited outrage really a good thing? Is the product just that, a product subject to the whims of the stockholders and leadership? A sham designed to print money but whose recent faux pass’ have shead light on the people behind the curtain having an interest in only one thing?

Lord knows it would be hard but I am ready to throw in the towel on the NFL. Is that wrong?”

“Today my question is the same.
How long has all this been influenced by the front office directly?
My gut says 2009 is a sham, everything in the Goodell era is a sham or at least attempted influence that occasionally failed to achieve the desired result.

Clinging to the last tendrils of faint hope that an acceptable resolution will occur but i know in my heart that will never happen and I must reconcile myself to life without the Saints.”

“I love the saints more than anything. I have probably spent half a million dollars over the last 30 years on traveling to games. I used to say I had no regrets. Now I do because the nfl will never give us a fair shake.

I already lost a good female friend this weekend because she told me to calm down because it was just a game. Any idiot that says that doesn’t realize what being a saints fan is all about. I am proud to be a saints fan since it is about family, integrity, loyalty, perseverance, and flat out passion.

I simply can’t support the nfl any longer. The maggot screwed us in bountygate and ever since. Cam Jordan was right. We’re used to getting bad officiating but this was a whole new level. I FEEL STRONGLY THAT THIS GAME WAS RIGGED from the get go to get an LA team in the SB.”
    —–

“I might have to take a step back and watch Saints games the way I watch two other teams play each other. Just sit back and hope for some good football and a good close game (entertainment). I just don’t know if I can get as into it anymore. Probably once July comes around. I need a break.”
    ———–

Exactly I will never quit following the Saints fan and following them as always. It would be cheating myself and throwing all of the joy and heartache away for nothing . The NFL as a whole won’t win in that way with me personally.

What does change is the fact that I will no longer spend money on NFL products. I will tell my family not to buy me any gift that helps them I have tons of Saints stuff it’s a tradition to get something every year. I am dropping the Sunday ticket I live on a super fixed income from SSDI and 300.00 is a huge chunk. There are streaming options anyways(should have done that awhile ago). I think we will get enough primetime games also.

I have stopped watching pre game shows years ago and I don’t watch football from morning till night on Sunday’s. I will balance my time which is becoming more valuable as time goes on Sunday’s. Lastly bring my stress level down it’s not worth it anymore. Overall the game isn’t as fun as it once was the evolution is not one of forwardness it’s gone just the opposite way.”
    ———
    Kris
“I’m done with NFL football. I was almost there before the start of this season for exactly the reason we are all so disgusted now. I couldn’t stay away from my Saints once the season started. I have been a continuous Saints fan since the early 80’s. I really hope I can hold onto that conviction because it IS RIGGED. The flip side is it’s so much fun to be a part of. I hate Goodell and what he has done to the NFL.
Hmmm, Goodell fired and rules changes to allow PI to be reviewed would probably restore some of my faith especially if the games are not “officiated” to be determined in last 4 minutes.”
