January 9, 2017 at 6:45 pm in reply to: Trump is such a baby: Meryl Streeps speech and Trump's reaction. #62958
InvaderRamModeratorI mean look at the people in that room with Streep — would you guess most working class voters identify with the folks in that room?
this. i mean i agree with a lot of what she says, but she’s as much of a part of the “liberal elite” as trump is a part of the “conservative elite”.
so really i doubt she has much more of a clue as to what’s wrong with this country than trump.
maybe i’m wrong. i don’t know. but i’m tired of it all. it seems like the rich control the dems and the reps. and everyone else really don’t count for much at all.

InvaderRamModeratori don’t know about quitting. i will say that it is my opinion that fisher lost the team. whether that means they stopped believing in the system. or they lost confidence. or they turned on the coach. i have no clue.
but i do believe the coaching staff lost the players.
InvaderRamModeratormatt patricia intrigues me as well. he’s smart for sure. not sure how that translates to being a football coach. can’t hurt though.
his background includes playing offensive line. he was also an ol coach for some time. again. not sure if that helps having experience on the other side as well.

InvaderRamModeratorA lot of being the HC is getting the right fit at coordinator then managing them. we don’t know who Kyle plans on at his coordinator positions.
There are plenty of good candidates and the Rams do have positives to lure a good coach…the biggest IMO is the cap availability and the worst is the loss of draft picks.
i agree. but i would also add that a team like the broncos appears to have great leadership. under elway you figure they’ll make more good decisions than bad. under demoff well….
InvaderRamModeratori wouldn’t mind getting a defensive oriented coach as long as they could find an offensive coordinator. i just don’t know who’d they hire. i think people here have suggested turner which i like. mostly cuz you don’t worry about him leaving to be a head coach.
InvaderRamModeratorto the objective person i’d think the denver job would be more attractive. better defense, and they too have a promising young qb. and draft picks.
my only hope is that he doesn’t want to play under his dad’s shadow.
either that or he isn’t that good…
InvaderRamModeratoralso i believe josh forrest was projected as an inside backer coming out of college.
biggest thing they’d need is some pass rushers and another defensive end.
InvaderRamModeratori like wade phillips as the new dc.
But he’s a 3/4 guy. Rams really don’t have 3/4 personnel.
i think donald fits any scheme. ogletree was a 3-4 inside backer in college. i think brockers could play nose tackle. just find another end and some pass rushers.
InvaderRamModeratorget rid of him.
InvaderRamModeratori like wade phillips as the new dc.
whole new defensive staff.
only guy i’d bring back is fassel.
InvaderRamModeratori like mcdaniels. but i think i like shanahan more.

InvaderRamModeratorand also i believe the nfl just needed one team in la for the new tv deal that’s supposed to come up.
January 6, 2017 at 8:22 am in reply to: With Raiders eyeing Vegas, NFL might help the Chargers stay in San Diego #62471
InvaderRamModeratorwell i guess it depends on what the market research says.
cuz certainly having all 32 teams move to la wouldn’t work. my hunch is moving 2 teams move to a city at virtually the same time might not make the most sense from a money standpoint. 2 teams competing for fans, ticket sales, merchandising, corporate sponsorship… i don’t know…
my guess. and it’s only a guess. is the nfl would prefer to have the chargers in san diego. and just one team in la for now.

InvaderRamModeratorThat doesn’t make sense other than wishful thinking from a $tanK toadie?
it doesn’t make sense for the chargers or the rams or the nfl to have the chargers move to los angeles. especially financially.
i’m thinking spanos stays and tries to get a stadium built in san diego. that’s my guess.
Didn’t make sense to leave St. Louis but they did. Chargers moving to LA was a concession the NFL got from $tanK to make his new stadium available to Spanos. To the NFL the Chargers move to LA does make sense.
from the standpoint of the nfl it made perfect sense for them to move. it was about money. stan has more of it than almost any other owner and a team in la meant more money in all their pockets.
unfortunate but true.

InvaderRamModeratorI really liked that we were able to get out of the stadium in remarkably quick fashion which would not be the case if they built a stadium down town.
yeah i agree. they should stay in mission valley although i understand the lure of one in downtown. i do. but it doesn’t sound like it’s ever going to happen. so try and find an alternative.

InvaderRamModeratorWhat does Jerry Jones want?
yeah. actually that’s a good point.
I wonder if Spanos would be agreeable to an upgrade on the MV stadium? I don’t think it’s a dump, the only problem is the flooding, but how often does it rain in So Cal?
it’s not a dump. it’s a really nice stadium i think. but then i think the coliseum is a really nice stadium. just upgrade it and it’d be just fine. it’s starting to rain a lot more, but really, i’m sure they could find a solution if it was really a problem.

InvaderRamModeratorhekker is excellent.
i think trujo could be pro bowl caliber but not excellent.
ogletree could be pro bowl caliber but not excellent.
hav, donnal. solid perhaps? tj too.
tavon. serviceable? lance as well.
goff and gurley? who knows at this point. if they are busts, it really will be a rebuild.

InvaderRamModeratorthat and they got one of the best quarterbacks ever. and one of the greatest football minds ever.
but yeah. they also have a solid football structure from top to bottom.
InvaderRamModeratoreither he’s lying (and there’s a high likelihood of that) or he doesn’t know talent. that’s just my opinion.
they lost jenkins, mcleod, lau, long.
gaines and quinn cannot be relied on. grob is likely a bust. the receivers need retooling. the qb and rb. there’s promise but questions that need answering. i think it’s a rebuild.
InvaderRamModeratorwell what would be the strength without the defensive ends?
Special Teams.
…
…
yikes i tell ya. yikes!

InvaderRamModeratoro the dline is supposed to be the strength of this team and we’re hoping to draft 2 defensive ends.
Well IMO the DL won’t be the strength of the team UNLESS they draft 2 ends.
Quinn has been hurt for 2 consecutive seasons now, and Hayes is up there and not that productive. They need a rotation at both DE spots.
OR teams just double/triple Donald and there’s no defense.
I think they can get things out of this offense without pouring in a ton of resources.
But they won’t win if they let the defense slide while trying to get a top offense. That would just be gray area hell.
..
well what would be the strength without the defensive ends?
January 3, 2017 at 6:26 pm in reply to: There's no offseason anymore which keeps ex-coaches like Cowher from coming back #62327
InvaderRamModeratorWell… a five million-dollar-a-year sports-job is not what I would call ‘stressful’. But people have their own views about these things.
w
vwell. compared to their sports broadcasting jobs they are.
InvaderRamModeratorso the dline is supposed to be the strength of this team and we’re hoping to draft 2 defensive ends. and mind you i actually don’t necessarily disagree. the rams NEED defensive ends.
i think it just shows exactly how much work this teams needs.
InvaderRamModeratoryeah. let him go. they can find someone else.
InvaderRamModeratori don’t know what was in gurley’s head this year. i hope this is a wakeup call. i’m pretty sure he’s a hard worker. you don’t come back from an acl injury the way he did not working hard.
maybe he settles down. the la lifestyle can be distracting. he needs to buckle down and focus.
InvaderRamModeratorat the very least they need to find a new left tackle and a new center. at the least.
maaaaaaaaaaaybe robinson could slide over to guard. that’d be huge if he could.
InvaderRamModeratorHavenstein and Donnal both come from college programs that ran the ZBS.
interesting. it seems as if this oline did better last year under cignetti’s zbs. gurley too.
InvaderRamModeratordonald and hekker. that’s all i got.
both the best at their positions.
and might i add that i think the negativity toward donald is astounding. just astounding.
InvaderRamModeratormy faith in demoff is so lacking that i think these rumors are true. that they’re stupid enough to trade away more draft picks after doing the exact same stupid thing one year ago.
i believe they’re that dumb. that they would do that for a coach who isn’t all that great.
