I always enjoy when Bomani and Domonique talk because they are very pro-labor:

My second reaction is to note that, that loss was one of, if not THE worse regular season loss in Rams history.

    Seriously. Name a worse one.

I say that because of the 49er injuries. Shannahan should NOT have been able to win that game. A BACKUP QB?? Are you kidding me. No first string WRs. No BOSA. Etc.

    I’m still in shock.

I will also note once again that K.Williams is a fumbler. If I’m not mistaken he has more fumbles over the last two years than any other player.
And i dont know if you can win a super bowl with a talented-fumbler.

What a loss. I hope they dont have to face a backup QB against Baltimore.

    Rams 31
    49ers 15

Rams will score a safety, and return a fumble for a TD.

The Rams will chew Shannahan’s mushy team like a Tapir chews a soft banana.

And Christian Mccaffrey will leave the game with a concussion. Or a pulled groin.

I think of him more as a land-based orca with legs. And arms. In human form. You know what I mean.

    .

Anquon the Bold was an Orca. Puka is a hybrid. A lion-Orca perhaps. Or a hyena-centaur. I’m not sure.

Yeah, the Cossell/Tucker discussion about Puka is exactly what i was alluding to. Its fascinating to see a WR(if thats what we wanna call him) be so successful, and yet not really have a classic WR skill-set like say, Devante or Torry Holt, etc.

I almost wanna call Puka a different name. Not a WR. A hybrid. Or somethin. I dunno.

Rams favored by 7.5 now, because of the SF injuries.

I dont remember the last time the Rams were favored by that much against SF.

    AI Overview

In 1950, after dominant wins over the Colts and Lions, the Los Angeles Rams were favored to beat the San Francisco 49ers by 20 points, but the 49ers ultimately only lost by a touchdown
    .
The context provided describes the Los Angeles Rams’ season in 1950:

The scores: The Rams beat the Baltimore Colts 70–21 and the Detroit Lions 65–24 in back-to-back weeks.

The matchup: They then faced the San Francisco 49ers and were favored by 20 points, according to a historical account of the rivalry.

The outcome: Despite the Rams’ powerful offense, the 49ers played a very physical game and held Los Angeles to 28 points, losing by a score of 28–21.

The Ravens were heavy favorites over the Texans. Lamar got hurt (might miss the Ram game) and the betting spread shifted NINE points. Texans now favored.

I dont think i ever remember a spread shift that much because of one injury.

Saw a ‘First Things First’ vid where Nick Wright was talking about the Cohen vs Saleh flare-up. The issue involved sign stealing.

Wright mentioned that Cohen was part of the McVay branch and Saleh was part of the Shannahan branch.

And that part of the background to the flare-up was that McVay-branch folks are known to be good at figuring out other teams signs.

Well, its an inter esting situation. We all remember the Cupp triple crown year. A lot of things came together that year. McVay, Stafford, Oline, OBJ, etc.

Its fascinating that we have the same thing playing out again.

For me, Stafford is as much a part of it as the Puka or Cupp.

I was thinking about the Hall of Fame the other day. A lot of people seem to think Stafford is ‘borderline’ or that he needs to accomplish a little more, etc.
The same people think Warner is a first-ballot hall of famer.

The thing is, if you asked most Ram fans to compare Stafford and Warner, and you give them three options: The same, Stafford better, Warner better — I think you would get more Stafford-better than the other two options.

I hope Puka wins a triple crown. Mainly because i think it would get people to think about the common denominator: Stafford.

    49ers lead the series 78-71-3

McVay has beaten Shannahan 3 in a row now. The Rams are the better team. They ‘should’ make it 4 in a row. We should see a total beat-down thursday night. A massacre. The Rams should Flay them afterward.

Shannahan is 10-6 against McV. 0-1 in the Playoffs, of course.

The GSOT won 8 of 9 against SF. From 99 to 2003.

From 1970 to 1980 the Rams were 19-2 against SF.

From 1981 all the way through 1998, things were pretty bad. There was the 17 game losing streak, but before that in the previous 19 games, the Rams only won 6.

My favorite 49er will always be Jaquiski Tartt.
“I see it, I’m like ‘Oh yeah, he f—– up. We about to win this game,’ ” Tartt said. “It hit my hands. I thought I had it, and I dropped it.”

‘I will end your f—king life’: 49ers coach reportedly threatens Jaguars coach
    By Alex Simon, Sports Editor
    https://www.sfgate.com/49ers/article/49ers-coach-threatens-jaguars-coach-end-your-life-21073272.php
When Jacksonville Jaguars coach Liam Coen approached San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh and chirped at the assistant to “keep my name out of your mouth,” Saleh reportedly replied by threatening to “end your f—king life.”

..The dust-up was sparked by comments made by Saleh on Thursday, when he said Coen and the Jaguars staff are among the best in the NFL at stealing opponents’ signs and signals. While Saleh stressed it was all legal stuff, using the specific “sign stealing” term raised eyebrows around the NFL and forced a visibly annoyed Coen to reply in his Friday press conference…

They’re going to trade for Joe Burrow. The Rams will become famous for saving great QBs from terrible franchises and turning them into HoFers.

Could I PLEASE have a god dam RUNNING QB just once in my lifetime.

    Everybody else has one.

I don’t remember exactly when I started following the Rams. It was 67 or 68. I recall attending the 20-20 tie with the 9ers at Kezar Stadium in 1968, and I know I was a Rams fan before we went to that game. And so I already knew of Jack Snow, too. I must have known about Bernie Casey because KFI in LA had a “Groaner” contest in which participants submitted bad sports puns, and the daily winner got a prize. I made a truly embarrassing joke using Bernie Casey’s name…and won. They sent me a balloon shaped like a clown that came with clip-on cardboard clown feet. I was already famous at the age of 8.

…I think we got a glimpse of the Rams against Philly, and I think we’ll learn something when they play the 9ers. I just don’t have a good feel for the AFC teams, so I don’t know what to make of those games.

Well, damn. I thought you started in 69. Now that Waterfield is gone, i guess you have the longest tenure around here. (Is Waterfield still alive?)

I dont think you can just allude to a famous and original Bernie Casey joke and then NOT tell the joke. What could possibly be funny about Bernie Casey?

Rams are good. Top four in the NFC. Eagles, Lions, Rams, Bucs. Seattle might be in the mix. Packers ‘should’ be, but somethin seems off about them so far.

All those teams are close enough so that whichever team is healthiest at the end of the year, will probly win the NFC. I mean, all those teams are an ACL or two away from losing.

    “..Nick Bosa injury looms large
The 49ers defense wasn’t bad against the Jaguars, but the cracks showed with Bosa out. Their pass rush was nonexistent. San Francisco was credited with zero quarterback hits and zero sacks. Jacksonville also had its way on the ground with 151 yards on 32 carries overall. If we remove all three Trevor Lawrence kneel downs at the end of the game the Jags went for 156 yards on 29 attempts.”

    49er injury:
Ricky Pearsall (WR): Suffered a knee injury after a hard fall on the sideline in the third quarter, which caused pain and instability, leading him to sit out the remainder of the game.

49ers played bad and the Jags played bad, and the 49ers lost.

I watched Purdy throwing the ball and If i were the GM of the 49ers I would only draft WR’s who were as big as Terrell Owens. Because Purdy has a habit of throwing the ball high and getting his WR’s kilt.

Purdy kinda reminds me of Jeff Garcia. Tough. A gamer. Solid. But limited. Not a great QB.

Adonai Mitchell. Second Round pick. Played at Georgia. Won two Natl Championships.

    Wiki:
“He was a key part of the 2022 College Football National Championship victory at the end of the 2021 season, catching the go-ahead 40-yard touchdown pass from Stetson Bennett with 8 minutes remaining.
During the celebration of the victory, Mitchell was interviewed by CBS Atlanta affiliate, WGCL, where he recounted the catch, “It was amazing to answer that call when it came, be that answer that the team to come through.”[12] Mitchell finished the season as the Bulldogs’ third ranked receiver, totaling 29 receptions for 426 yards and four touchdowns.[13]

As some of you might remember, i started watching the rams near the end of the 1968 season. I was eleven years old. The only players i knew were Deacon, Merlin and Roman.

But the first full season i followed them was 1969. We didnt have ESPN or cable networks or internet. (We traveled by Woolly Mammoth in WV back then)
The first game in 1969 was against John Unitas and the Baltimore Colts. (who were coming off a Super Bowl loss to Namath).

I could only follow the Rams by watching a non-ram network game, and watching for the game reports and halftime and postgame shows.

But i remember following the score of that first game. Random snippets and reports on the game would pop up on the screen of the Steeler game I had to watch. Baltimore was favored by six.

I still remember the final score. I smile just thinking about it. Rams 27. Colts 20.
Unitas had 3 INTs. Billy Truax had a TD. Roman had 3 TDs no picks.

Anyway, the Indy Colts belong in Baltimore. And the football gods know this. And that is why the gods flicked the ball out of that idiot reciever’s hands at the goal line. And that is why Johnathan Taylor ran a long way for nothing.

Bring on the 49ers. Who stayed in SF where they belong.
