wvParticipant..
you can see the talent…=============
Thats the thing. There have been some medium passes that reminded me of Bulger at his zinging-accurate-best. And some long passes that remind me of Hadl at his bombing-rainbow-best. And some pocket-awareness-guts that remind me of Kurt.
And he’s only in his, what? 17th game? Somethin like that.
Who knows, but we could be seeing the next Manning or Brady or…somebody.
w
v
wvParticipantThe Goff to Woods rainbow was as beautiful a pass as I’ve seen. In Football. Ever.
Anywhere.Symmetry, Artistry, Timing. Perfection.
Reminded me of Hadl to Harold Jackson as someone else noted.
Goff keeps getting better.

wvParticipantThe Texans played tough the first half. Tourovers hurt them. Then the Rams took off. Great game by Woods

wvParticipantMcVay just won his 7th game.
But until he proves he can do that year in and year out, I feel any comparisons to Jeff Fisher are premature.
===========
LolTwo more wins and we leave the Fisher-Zone. Ie the 7-9/8-8 zone-of-mediocrity.
I do believe 9-7 is attainable.

wvParticipantInteresting. This one could go either way, I suppose. The owners dont like ugly lawsuits, but some of the owners are probly gettin sick of Jerry. They’ll be split on this.
Who do fans root for in a Goodell vs JJ

wvParticipanti’m 0-2 when I attend Rams games at the Coliseum…… (last year vs Buf and this year vs Sea)
beware, I plan to attend this Sunday…..can the Rams survive with my ass in the seats?
Burn some sage or some type of herb at the game so your evil curse would lift the demons away. Blow it to the Eagles if you can.
As your lawyer, I strongly recommend burning “some type of herb” before, during and after the game.

In 2009, I got a mild but lovely euphoric ‘high’ from this mix:
Saffron
Fennagreek
Cloves
Anise
Cardemon
CinnamonMix it in a bowl and sniff it.
Go Rams.

…..
……“Every game matters. You go out there and play for your teammates. You give them all you got. They deserve it,” said Sherman, who felt his Achilles pop on a cut while covering Cardinals receiver John Brown. “We were kind of beat up at corner anyway. I didn’t want to leave the young guys out there and leave them in tough spots.”“I don’t even know how to address this right now,” Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said. “He has been just a bastion of consistency, competitiveness and toughness — just an extraordinary, iconic player in this league. We’re going to miss the heck out of him.”
wvParticipantWhitworth vs Clowney. Should be inter esting.

wvParticipanti wonder if the rams during some blowout should try and feature mannion with the intention if trading him for a pick. definitely think they need to draft a replacement for him at some point.
Why not keep Mannion as the Rams backup? Who would be better? He probably wouldn’t cost much. imo You can still draft a prospect if you think you want to upgrade Brandon Allen.
=================
You are still a Mannionite, I see.

wvParticipantThis an awfully good film and film director. Read about him at Wiki. Joshua Openheimer.
Good interview too. I started the vid at the 34 min mark but the whole thing is good.:
wvParticipantWhen i look at that offensive roster, it just doesnt look like it has any weak-links anywhere. Its great to be able to go into the draft and just take whatever they want. Hasnt been that way in a long time.
I imagine they stock up on OLinemen? Jettison Tavon’s big contract and resign Watkins.
I guess Mannion may leave next year? So, i suppose they’ll need a new no.2 QB.
The media iz gonna be picking the Rams as a super-bowl choice next year. I might too.

Its interesting how the publishers chose that photo to be the cover of the book. A lone cop holding back the ugly-crowd.
They could just as easily have shown a photo of a bunch of cops beating up a lone citizen (Rodney King, etc)
Its a minor thing to bring up, but its the first thing that popped into my mind when i saw the book cover.

wvParticipantyes, great movie…. very underrated.
I think the actor who played “Ice Cube” is actually Ice Cube’s son….. those guys pulled it off well.
not only did that movie capture the racial harassment from the police, it captured how the music evolved, from raw talent to the polished finished production of the music and live performances…..
I thought that Giamati played the band manager pretty good…..
BTW, did you think he did a better job as “Pig Vomit” in Howard Stern’s movie?…. Giamati was great in that role………
====================
I dont think I’ve seen Pig Vomit. Or Stern’s movie.

wvParticipantYou should get the album. Classic gangsta rap album.
It is hard to do a full documentary in like a 2 to 3 hour movie. Ice Cube`s son played him in the movie by the way.
==============
I had ‘more’ strong reactions to that movie than any movie i’ve seen in years. By ‘strong reactions’ i dont just mean positive reactions 🙂
A great deal of what i found ‘interesting’ about the movie was…downright appalling. In some ways the directors vision was appalling to me (i watched the directors commentary). In some ways i found the NWA folks values and goals appalling. But the music was so viscerally powerful. And Paul Giamati was not the best actor in the movie (which is unusual) — the young african-american kids in that movie were just awesome actors. And the Rodney King angle was interesting….etc. Thought-provoking movie.w
vNovember 6, 2017 at 4:46 pm in reply to: media on the Giants game … tweets, articles, vids, etc. #77006
wvParticipantNY daily news:http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/giants/giants-defense-latest-part-team-crumble-article-1.3613400
Now the Giants defense has fallen apart.
While the Big Blue defense has not lived up to the expectations of one of the most feared units in the league this season, they had still done enough to at least keep the Giants in games.
That all changed Sunday when the Rams made them look like a Pop Warner team.
The Giants allowed 51 points — the most allowed by Big Blue at home since 1964 when the Cleveland Browns put up 52 on them — with the Rams taking no more than four minutes to score on eight of their nine scoring drives and had 10 plays of at least 15 yards or more throughout the game.
While the defense was missing some key starters due to injuries and shutdown corner Janoris Jenkins due to a suspension, it was still a shock to see such a poor effort on the surface.
“That ain’t the case,” corner Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie said. “I don’t think guys lied down, you just got to move fast like quicksand. Go out there, you try to fight but you keep sinking.”
The Giants sank faster than quicksand, though, and it started in the second quarter when they had the Rams pinned back on a third-and-33 from their own 48.
Rams quarterback Jared Goff threw a screen pass to Robert Woods, who was left open and ran untouched for 52 yards into the end zone, which gave Los Angeles a 17-7 lead at the time.Safety Landon Collins, who was nearly at a loss for words following the game, said the defense just over-pursued.
“We thought he was going to push to keep it strong,” Collins said. “He cut it back. We had nobody playing backdoor on that screen.”
Two minutes later the Rams struck again, with Goff finding Sammy Watkins deep behind Collins and the secondary for a 67-yard touchdown and put the Rams up 24-7.
They eventually took a 27-10 lead into halftime before scoring three touchdowns and a field goal in the second half.
“It’s heartbreaking,” Collins said. “We have to really get in the film room, get in the locker room and kind of just figure this stuff out. Something is up and we’ve got to figure it out.”
The Rams finished with 473 yards of total offense, with Goff throwing for 311 and the running game, led by Todd Gurley, accounting for 162.Jason Pierre-Paul’s reason for the defensive breakdown was simple.
“Mistakes, mistakes, mistakes,” the defensive end said. “Mistakes cost us that game.”
While head coach Ben McAdoo’s job is likely in jeopardy already, the poor performance from the defense could signal doom for other coaches, but Rodgers-Cromartie says the blame lies on the players.
“You can’t put it on the coaches,” he said. “Not the way we’re playing. That’s the defense. Ask any of us, we’ve blown coverages for people wide open. You can’t fire no coach for that. Fire a player or something’s got to give.”
Rodgers-Cromartie did express some optimism before leaving the stadium, saying he expects Jenkins and others to return to the defense next week.
“Next week we’ll get a lot of key pieces back and go from there,” he said. “Just one week at a time.”
wvParticipantDitto.
Thing is, i really dont watch other teams anymore. In 99 i knew more about the Bucs and Vikings etc. This year, i dunno how good Philly really is, or Minny, or Seattle or New Orleans. So it could be that the 2017 Rams just have an easier path. Or not. I dunno.
….I’m just not sold on Philly yet.
