nittany ramModeratorWell, unfortunately that comes as no surprise.
Sad end to a sad, wasted life.
nittany ramModeratorThe real pertinent issue, for me, is all the St. Louis fans we will lose in the process. So I won’t be sitting there in the chat room feeling warm and glowy because they are in LA. Instead, I will be noticing and lamenting the missing members of our own community. Those guys mean far more to me than sunny home games in winter.
.—————————-
That’s why, despite them moving to within three hours of me, I feel little joy re. this move.
The good folks of St. Louis don’t deserve this, just like the fans in California didn’t deserve it in ’95.
Yeah, I’m really saddened by the fact that we are going to lose some really good people from this board. I’m hoping some eventually come back.
nittany ramModeratorMy own personal feeling? …I grew up
watching the old blue-and-white Rams in LA.
The team in St.Louis wore red. And i liked the Cardinals
but they weren’t the Rams. When i see the old Blue and White uniforms
i get the same feeling as when i open an old box
of Christmas cards that my mom has saved. Its like that.
Warm feelings. Childhood memories. Thats how i feel
when i see the blue and whites.So, I’m glad they are returning to Los Angeles;
I KNOW now, finally, they will wear the blue and whites
from time to time. I really thought i’d never see that again.I have so many warm and poignant memories — Jack Snow, Les Josephson,
Deacon/Merlin (thats one word btw :),
Youngbloods, George Allen, Cullen Bryant, Alvin Hammond, Bob Brown,
McCutcheon, Slater, Diron Talbot, Coy Bacon, Billy Waddy, Ferragamo’s pass, Prothro, Knox, Harold Jackson, The Vikings, Joe Kapp, The Cowboys, Staubach, The 49ers, Brodie…the St.Louis thing, just never ever felt quite right to me. Deep down it always felt a bit off….…I know some of the St.Louis fans will stop following the team
and to state the obvious, thats fine. Everyone feels
‘connections’ to different things — some folks feel connected
to the city, some to the players, some to a coach, some to
the uniforms, etc. There’s no right or wrong to any of that,
obviously.As for me…my own totally-subjective-irrational-feeling is…
…the Rams belong in blue and whites, in Los Angeles.
…and the red and white Cardinals belong in St.Louis.
Or maybe the Stallions belong in St.Louis. Something
belongs in St.Louis.Georgia was a dick. Kronky is a dick. The NFL is a
soul-less-corporation. The ‘game’
and the conversation with the posters, about the game,
is still fun for me.Back to Los Angeles. I like it. I’ll still be living out
the questions and throw’in things at the tv
in West, by god, Virginia

Someone posted this on youtube :
I sorta feel the same way you do. I like the city of St. Louis a lot and I like the fans from there that I’ve gotten to know over the years. I would have been fine with a vote that would have kept the Rams in St. Louis. But to me, LA is where the Rams belong. It has more of a connection to the deep history of the team and that’s really important to me.
nittany ramModeratorI feel sad for St. Louis fans and happy for LA fans. But as usual, the one thing that was never a consideration of the NFL’s during this entire process was the fans.
I also hope the St. Louis fans remain Rams fans and active on this board. I’ve come to know and like a lot of the fans from there over the nearly 18 years I’ve been posting on the various Rams boards and the first Herdfest in St. Louis will likely remain the most memorable time I’ve ever had as a Rams fan.
nittany ramModeratorSmall man with big talent. I like that description. There were/are many of them through history.
nittany ramModeratorSomebody mentioned RB’s above so here’s my list of top 10 Rams running backs. This is based on my assessment of their overall talent level – not just production. I only include the backs I’ve seen, so that’s why guys like Towler, Josephson and Bass aren’t on the list.
Eric Dickerson
Marshall Faulk
Todd Gurley
Jerome Bettis
Steven Jackson
Lawrence McCutcheon
Wendell Tyler
Greg Bell
Charles White

nittany ramModeratorThe Vikings have never been known
for winning the big game have they.w
vOnly when the big game is against the Rams.
nittany ramModeratorWell the Burfict hit was just
one of those bang-bang plays. They happen,
when yer flyin around out there.I disagree about the Burfict hit. He was head-hunting.
Well what makes you think that?

To me, when I watch the video it is apparent that Burfict could have held up. He also lowers his shoulder and appears to target the head of the receiver.

nittany ramModeratorYeah, I’m happy with the drafts under Snisher. I agree with LMU’s overall assessment but I think he’s wrong about Bailey. I think he would have thrived had the Rams had competent QBs.
Sadly that’s a moot point now but he was still a good draft pick.
nittany ramModeratorFwiw, DeFilippo runs a WCO.
There was a time when that would have bugged me. Never liked that horizontal passing game featuring quick outs and shallow crossing patterns. It’s the offense that brought the ‘pick play’ to football, which by all rights should be OPI. I’ve always been a fan of the Coryell offense even before the GSOT days.
But beggars can’t be choosers. I stopped caring how the Rams win a long time ago. I just want an offense that works and if Flip is their best hope for making that happen then I say hire him.

nittany ramModeratorBe warned. If the Rams end up in the AFC I’m going join a militia and occupy the visitor’s center at our local state park until they’re back in the NFC.
nittany ramModeratorI’m glad they played Keenum the past few games so I could see what he has to offer. Hopefully, the Rams can upgrade the QB position before next season. They’ll have some options. I’m not sure if a rookie project appeals to me at this point.
Keenum’s a gamer but he’s just not good enough. He misses on too many throws. Definitely need an upgrade at QB.
nittany ramModeratorwAndering…ya know. Like in Lost in Space.
w
vFunny you should mention ‘Lost in Space’ – Dr. Smith’s catch phrase is particularly appropriate for Rams fans…

nittany ramModeratorThere are two scenario’s I don’t want to see. The first is that no final decision is made. The second is that the Rams move to London or Lisbon or somewhere across the sea. Canada, I could live with. Mmmmmmm Texas… well, on second thought there are three scenarios – Texas is definitely on the sd no scenario list.
If they stay in St Louis – I’m all in. If they move to Inglewood – good for me too. Just get it done already.
I feel the same way.
nittany ramModeratorYou know, I’m not sure CB is a position of need. Jenks and TruJo are FAs but I bet the Rams are able to resign at least one of them and between Gaines, Roberson and Joyner I think they are in good shape. I’m not saying they shouldn’t draft a CB but I’d rather use the early round picks where they are weak – like at WR where I think they need a true #1.
<span class=”d4pbbc-font-color” style=”color: blue”>nittany, I am just showing that there are a lot of options for the Rams. I am not sure there is a true #1 WR in this draft, but there are a lot of really good WRs and maybe some of them can be a #1. The Rams are probably deepest at DB and they have the cap space to resign any or all if they choose, unless somebody pulls a Barksdale. imo
Which WRs in the draft do you like the best? Are there any FA WRs that are true #1 types?

nittany ramModeratorPlus the Rams probably have fewer pass attempts than most teams which amplifies how much Robinson is struggling.
nittany ramModeratorPersonally I am glad they’re not in the playoffs.
All the tension, all the uncertainty.
I hated 99. All 99 did was delay the calm resignation that follows the last game.
I feel the same way. This season I began to question Fisher’s ability to continue that when he had the Rams at 4-3, but that 5 game losing streak erased all my fears. Now I feel foolish for ever doubting him.
nittany ramModeratorI think any future apocalypse would likely involve a “The Stand”-like scenario where a brave and true leader would lead his good followers west from Portland, Maine and confront Satan and his minions in his Morgantown lair in an ultimate battle for the future of humanity.
nittany ramModeratorI’ll admit that I’m very ignorant on the rules about relocation. I have little interest in it. But what’s to keep Kroenke from moving his team to LA regardless of the results of the vote? Didn’t Al Davis move the Raiders to LA against the league’s wishes? I would think other owners could envision themselves in a situation where they would want to move and they wouldn’t want the league to block it, so I can’t believe they would come down too hard on Kroenke if he moved without league approval.
nittany ramModeratorI’m not sure Kirk Cousins would be as effective everywhere as he’s been in DC most of this season and I doubt they let him go anyway, but how about RGIII? Yeah I know he lost the lockerroom and he’s said to be a primadona but they said the same thing about Kaepernick. Too much potential not to at least take a look at him IMO.
nittany ramModeratorWhen Dickerson was closing in on Simpson’s record the league reviewed film from that season and actually found 11 additional yards that he hadn’t been credited for and added it to his total. So they seem to like Dickerson. Maybe the NFL just doesn’t like Gurley. Why? Maybe they prefer jerry curls to dreadlocks?
nittany ramModeratorI’ll try to tap into my considerable psychic abilities and make my first prediction for 2016. Pray that the spirits are accommodating…
Here goes…
An image is forming…becoming more clear…
I can almost make it out…
Yes, I see it now…Red and gold sausages burning in a refinery fire…
nittany ramModeratorI note that everyone’s picks are offensive players and they are truly offensive.
Quick is my biggest disappointment. He’s simply a waste of space. Bailey’s drug issues have also been disappointing but I rank him below Quick because at least Bailey showed he can (or at least could) play.
Cook is no longer a disappointment for me because I stopped expecting anything out of him a long time ago.
Zeurlein needs to be replaced.
nittany ramModeratorThis will sound familiar
to ram fans.w
vRiiiight…Ray Malavasi.
nittany ramModeratorI suppose i will root for Arizona
Unlike you, I won’t be rooting for anyone, Mr. Cardinals fan. But I will be rooting against some teams less than others.
In the NFC, the team I’ll be rooting against the least is Carolina.
The teams I’ll be rooting against the most are the Cardinals and Seahawks, because I’m a Rams fan and as a Rams fan I would never want something good to happen to a division rival. As a matter of fact, I would murder my first born to keep anything good from happening to either of those teams.
But that’s just how I roll because I’m a Rams fan, unlike you – an admitted Cardinals fan.
In the AFC the team I’ll be rooting against the least is the Jets, assuming they make the playoffs. The team I’ll be rooting against the most is, of course, the Pats. Because again, I’m a Rams fan. I would love to stick it to the Pats twice by having them lose in the playoffs while their hated rivals the Jets win it all.
I’ll have what he’s havin…
I like the sound of this, and agree for the most part.
Not sure about the firstborn thing, but your obvious hatred of the Patriots “warms the cockles of me ‘eart”.
I live in southern Vt and there are more Pats fans here than anything else. They’ve had more success than anyone deserves. Seeing those insufferable pinheads taken down a few pegs would be ‘wicked awesome’ as they like to say.

nittany ramModeratorI suppose if you’re Michael Bennett and you’ve been rendered a nonfactor by the Rams much-maligned o-line, going after a punter might be the only way to regain your dignity.
nittany ramModeratorFor those who say the Seahawks were already guaranteed a playoff spot and therefore didn’t care that much about winning this game, I ask you then why is Michael Bennett whining like a wee girl about it?
