I’m still mad about the refs not calling two blatant roughing calls facemask should have put us 1st and goal at the 1. The helmet to helmet while another defender torqued Stafford’s knee way late (he completed the pass) at the very least cost us 4 points. On the positive the really played like the well connected team we saw early this season noting the Covid-19 outbreak a little too connected.

Blanton has been blocking pretty good in his few snaps also they could get really creative and put Hoect in at FB he has some experience running the ball

If the Rams come out with 6 OL 2 TEs with Michel they could keep KM and co off the field

Just focusing on the offense here but Stafford’s first year in it he loses Akers in Camp then Funk Mundt Harris Atwell Woods for the season Skowronek last week after a bye trying to hurriedly implement OBJ and deal with several lingering injuries. Looking at the first 8 games some of the amazing throws that Goff wouldn’t make on his best day. He didn’t suddenly become an awful QB. Late November at Lambeau he lost a 1 possession game to the same Packers team that beat the Cards while down 5 starters.

Repeating the same thing and expecting different results Mcvay is insane. Axe Morris and Joe D.

I think it should be mentioned that OBJ has a stronger arm then Stafford . Imagine if you will Stafford rips a laser to OBJ on the edge and OBJ uncorks a 70 yr bomb to Jefferson who has blown past cb 4 This is a risk free move , they don’t need to even activate him if there’s a chance of hurting the team and if he’s finally happy and flourishes could mean Rams playing in Sofi in February. Is he a head case? His teammates say no ,he has a house in LA several Rams are friends with him and after Djax Atwell Harris all history this season we were paper thin at wr .If we don’t resign him next year we get a pick if he goes somewhere else. What’s not to love?

He was exciting to watch on the field but the one against the Seahawks didn’t look right and the one against the Bux where he taunts them, loved the
play but didn’t like the behavior. So then he beefs not getting the ball enough Mcvay puts him on returns then he beefs again and requests trade. It’s all trying to put the tooth paste back in the tube . I wish it would’ve worked out but I trust Mcvay did the right thing.

Morris has the talent for this defense to be elite. But it never will be by the conservative scheme he’s employing. It’s not the players. Staley had less talent and did more than Morris is doing. Drop, read first then react is a losing way to play. The players are too fast these days to do that. Staley played his zone as a combo zone/man. Zone only dictated who you would cover. Once a receiver entered the zone he was played in man coverage. Obviously, that is a simplification but it’s an illustration of how it’s different from Morris’ version. In Morris’ zone, they simply make their drops and wait to see where the pass is thrown then react. That concedes the reception. unless the DB is right on top of the receiver when the pass is thrown. That is the ancient way of playing zone.

Morris showed he can be more aggressive when he forced the Colt’s first punt. He locked them down immediately by playing more guys in the box, taking away their run game. When they were behind the chains he then backed off and played pass. I have no problem with that at all. Had he done that the entire game IMO the score wouldn’t have even been close. He would wait until they were on the Ram’s side of the field before he began to tighten things down. At that point he’s trying to limit them to FGs. That’s a loser mentality.

I disagree that Morris has better talent.losing JJ3 Troy Hill Morgan Fox Ebukam and Brockers all with years of experience playing together has to effect continuity and where was this talent gain coming from?

Jack you have the Raiders @ 9 and 9 which I don’t believe will happen in the regular season but other than that it’s a reasonable take all one could expect at this point

That was probably the most entertaining preseason game I watched ever. The Bobby Brown submarining the center for a tfl is something I’ve never seen before ,that was crazy! Perkins is looking to me like a better back up than Wolford especially the durability aspect. Atwell is too small and is going to get hurt quickly . Tavon is a giant compared with Atwell but that said Stafford puts that deep shot out in front of Atwell where he can go and get it.Garrett is a game wrecker this Defense is going to scary and the offense as well. Making cuts will be painful with this bunch.

The problem with Kupp that I haven’t seen mentioned is he misses games big games ,he’s missed more playoffs including a Superbowl than he’s played. How many times have you seen him messin with his knees after a play?

Henry Ellard 814 rec 13,777 16.9avg 65tds throw in 1527 more and 4tds returning punts
and 364 returning kickoffs giving him 15,718 total basically doubling Pearson’s output.

Ellard should’ve been in before Bruce or Holt were eligible Bruce should’ve been a first ballot
HOF Holt and Megatron should’ve been in this year and Pearson should be running a camp for pushing off
    and getting away with it.

reaction was not good for me . The game for a January game on the road in freaking Green Bay went much better than expected. Rams were competitive
Were Donald and Kupp healthy might have been enough 3 or 4 picks dropped and failure to get the fumble hurt the Rams. Personally I ended up throwing
out a perfectly good batch of kava I made for the game because I had a fever and needed to take pain relievers to get it down . Got tested Monday got the results Weds. I got the COVID. Pretty mild symptoms so far . I think seeing Staley and now Barry leave makes me feel worse than the virus has.

Williams with pick 6 on a WR screen! Only a handful of players that could ever pull that off and most of them are on the 2020/21 Rams. Goff is one tough dude. As gutsy a showing as I can remember. The defense is crazy deep. Watching that game took me back to 3rd grade listening to Deacan Jones and Merlin Olsen crushing opponents. Watching this defense is like watching GSOT when they got going . It’s just different. Akers is getting better and better. Mcvay seems to be returning to his former self . Watching that game was a blast. Last but not least loved Goff’s post game comments about cigar smoking celebratory Seahawks .

Presumably hand injuries and cold weather could make ball security more of an issue.

Goff loses that game. With the OL sleep walking Wolford saved the day with his wheels. Goff without Kupp behind A slumping OL with a broken thumb when he was already struggling with ball security seems like a disaster waiting to happen. Let the hags game plan for Wolford. Another week with the ones could only help.

Against ARZ, Wolford was able to convert a couple of third downs running. Against ARZ, the Goff-led Rams converted 60% of their third downs, a rate that across 16 games would lead the league by a wide margin. Meanwhile, in his last 4 games, Goff has had 3 INTs. In his only game, Wolford had 1 INT. Against a much tougher defense, Seattle, Rams scored 9 offensive points. Same with Wolford against the comparatively less challenging Arizona defense.

My own feeling is this. If Goff is physically able to play against Seattle, he goes. In which case I root for him. If Goff is not physically able to go against Seattle, Wolford goes. In which case I root for him.

What I hope improves is the goal line offense, which was a problem in both of the last 2 games.

I agree on the goal line offense. Goff in his last 8 games has 9 INTs and lost 4 of his 5 fumbles ran for 59 yds on 27 ATT with Kupp playing
Wolford ran for 57 yards on 6 ATT converted 4 for 1st downs without Kupp game saved. The Goff being able to play is complicated imo Goff will say he’s ready no matter what that’s his mind set and has served him well for the most part but has affected decision making ability. Cold damp Seattle weather isn’t typically a good condition for healing broken bones . Also Breese didn’t play all that great after 5 weeks rehab with the same injury.

Imo the coaching since the Pats game has completely collapsed. These guys just aren’t ready to play maybe the pandemic taking its toll or injuries but they just don’t look sharp. How many times did Goff have to get them lined up? Drops , blown coverages missed tackles missed blocks idiotic play calls over and over. They used to be known as a well coached team now they look like a team that doesn’t practice.
