There’s plenty to look at and correct when they view the film on this one.

    But.

I have always said that comeback wins build character and confidence and morale and spawn legends. That’s even if your team was the one that lost a lead, forcing them to come back.

    was there any doubt???

Rams could easily be 4-0…. or easily be 1-3

you nailed it ZN, they never lost confidence.

Of all the Rams teams that I had no expectations of, this might be my favourite ever. Love the young guys. Love Stafford. Great to see a 100 yard rusher again. Williams is a TD machine inside the ten. A fun, fun win.

Really happy for Stafford.  He deserved to win the way he gutted it out in the second half.

Hard not to like this team.  Yeah, they’re gritty but there’s more to them than that. They’re also talented.  This is a good roster.  It’s young, but it’s good.

They have a nice receiving corp that could be great when Kupp gets back.  They’ve fixed their o-line.  They have a good young secondary that will only get better with experience.  Barring injury this is a 10 win team.

They will be going into the off-season with few if any major holes, no dead money, and a first round pick.

Right now they are a legitimate playoff contender.  Next year they could be scary good.

We need to play better in the 2nd half. Now we got Philly at home. I wonder if we can shock the world, next week, and defeat the Eagles. I say, we got little to no shot at beating them.

A relatively-healthy Stafford with a solid OLine is a thing of beauty.

Because I’m old, he reminds me of some of the elite old-time passers:  Stabler, Namath, etc.

What a gun, what accuracy, what guts.

Controlled the game most of the way. Won the game in the end.  Good day!

had to watch the game later as i was on the road. but wow. stafford. it reminded me of the clip of him playing with an injured shoulder. couldn’t even lift it but kept going back out there and leads his team to a win. i didn’t see the game when it happened since he was a lion but glad i got to see this one. not live but as a rams fan. i’m not quite sure what to make of him. i don’t think he’ll ever be remembered as one of the best of this era of football. guys like mahomes, rodgers, and brady will probably be in those discussions. but i think performances like this will be etched into nfl lore along with the. what was it. three game winning drives in three postseason games to lead the rams to a superbowl? one against a team led by tom brady. one against the rams biggest rivals in the niners. and one in the superbowl including the no look pass to kupp. someone correct me if i’m wrong on the details. maybe not the best. but one of the toughest. one of the most clutch.

and then puka. i don’t think i’ve been as impressed with a rams rookie offensive skill position player since todd gurley. not even kupp. and i know a lot of it is due to stafford. i just saw a tweet where they list the top four receiving seasons through the first four games. puka, megatron, and kupp. i don’t remember the exact order but the point is that their qbs were all stafford. i don’t think it’s a coincidence. and the numbers will also decrease once kupp comes back. i don’t think it’s sustainable. nevertheless very impressive. he’s got a long way to go but he seems to have the mentality and physical ability to be successful. can’t wait to see how it all pans out.

Don’t know if you noticed but I posted that play: remember this play from Stafford’s rookie year

That’s an interesting comment. If this team has a rival in this regard, it’s ’99. So it’s been a long, long time since I had a team exceed expectations as much as this team has. I thought they would be better than everyone was saying, but this team is giving glimpses of playoff potential. I was hoping for .500.

Like Nittany said, there’s a lot of talent. More than I hoped for with so many youngsters in the starting lineup. This is an all-time great draft, by the looks of it. Nacua and Avila are off the charts for rookies, and they’re getting help from Young, Turner, and some of the 2nd year guys.

They are ahead of schedule in their refurbishment, that is certain.

Today’s weakness seems to be penalties. I haven’t looked at the stats yet, but it sure seemed to be a problem.

Welp. This is going to be an exciting season, not just an interesting one, looks like.

Let’s catch Philly by surprise next week.

Pretty silly of me to forget 99 and the low expectations that I had then. That would be the gold standard. Maybe I forgot about my low expectations after Green went down. I don’t know what I was thinking.

This is definitely looking like an all-time great draft. To hit on multiple players on both sides of the ball is rare indeed. Great job by the coaches in developing these guys.

And we’re saying that–as in, we’re quite rightly saying that–after just 4 games.

Usually you can’t really judge a draft for a couple of years.

Wonder how the 2023 draft will look after a couple of years. After all there were 14 picks, and the record for draft picks in one draft since the 7-pick limit began is 15 (Vikings, 2020). And as we well know, not every player makes a splash in year one.

One thing that I would like  to see change is Hoecht dropping into coverage.  Can that somehow be schemed out of Morris’s defense entirely?  It doesn’t seem to be working.

Yes. This is not Beginner’s Luck. What Nacua and Avila are doing is the real deal. They look every bit like future All-Pros. There are a couple of other guys that are showing “age-appropriate” promise. I mean…they look about like what you hope for from their draft position at this point. Meaning that they are on the road to being draft “hits” as opposed to draft “misses.”

I hope Young develops. It’s rare for an Edge to produce in his rookie year. He seems to be doing okay. But he isn’t an Impact player. Somebody else said it in a different thread: the Rams need an Edge to make them truly threatening. Increased pressure on the opposing QB is the one improvement in the Ram’s game that would make the biggest difference for this team, and if all this draft (combined with last year’s) fills out the roster with quality players everywhere, the Rams will pick up the missing piece(s) before next season.

McSnead’s team-building strategy looks like it is ahead of schedule to me, and that is good news in Ramsville.

Nacua is so much like the rookie-Kupp.    I hope he learns when and how ‘not’ to fight for more yardage.    Ike could teach him a thing or two.

There are secondaries out there that are going to do to him what the Pats did to Faulk.

my fear is that he can’t stay healthy.  that’s the one thing about kupp i don’t like.  as good as kupp is he’s only had two 1000 yard seasons in six.  mainly because he can’t stay on the field.  he could easily have five in six if he could play all the games.  four in six if he had just stayed somewhat healthy.

avila has looked good too.  i think he might have given up one sack yesterday?  but the first four games he’s looked good.  best olineman since rodger saffold?

    best olineman since rodger saffold?

I assume you mean best interior OL cause, Whitworth.

But yes best interior OL since Saffold–and, as good as Saffold was at guard, Avila is already showing he can do some things you would never ask Saffold to do (things on the move, out in the 2nd level).

Last year btw Saffold was a starting guard for Buffalo. Where, coincidentally, the OL coach is Aaron Kromer. (And in fact that’s where the Rams superb new OL coach, Ryan Wendell, coached last year–he was an assistant to Kromer).

As a Rams fan, I am stocked deep with OL history trivia. 😎
