Should note before the week turns over: Rams OL allowed just 3 pressures, no sacks to Broncos. Got blitzed at a 44.8% rate, too, and protection in light of that points a lot of credit toward C Coleman Shelton (calls). RT Rob Havenstein went out of his way to praise Shelton today.
.due to the efficiency that the Rams organization has, per Mayfield, the newly-adjusted quarterback was able to post one of the most efficient and best games of his career in the win.“Everybody on the sidelines is always communicating,” Mayfield said. “It’s an efficient place.”December 26, 2022 at 3:07 pm #142297zn

Both Rams OL Oday Aboushi and Broncos DL Randy Gregory have been suspended for one game after a postgame skirmish. Both have the ability to try to appeal. From the NFL: pic.twitter.com/Ahwu0NAv4P

ModeratorJAKE ELLENBOGEN@JKBOGENThe thing about yesterday is that while the #Rams were without 8 of their starters, 4-10 and completely out of playoff contention…They still played what you could call the most complete complementary football game of the Sean McVay era. That was incredible..The #Rams pass rush generated a whopping 29 pressures which was their best of the year. Michael Hoecht led the way with 7 of them.I think Baker is going to have a market too big to even consider coming back to the Rams as a backup.HoldenCantor@HoldenCantorWhat a game for the Rams offensive line yesterday which gave up just (ONE!) hurry in 29 pass blocking snaps per @PFF.Stu Jackson@StuJRamsRams DT Larrell Murchison, who left Sunday’s game vs. Broncos with a neck injury, just has “a little bit of a stinger”/neck soreness, per HC Sean McVay. McVay said he doesn’t expect it to impact Murchison’s status for Week 17..Blaine Grisak@bgrisakDTRNot sure it’s a coincidence that Akers had turned it around ever since Thomas Brown took a larger role again coaching RBs..Gary Klein@LATimeskleinMcVay on Akers: “That’s certainly I think is something that we’ve worked through. There’s totally a different trajectory in terms of what he’s done and the way that he’s handled himself and the way that he’s playing the way like we know he’s capable of…”December 26, 2022 at 3:34 pm #142304zn

ModeratorI can’t help but wonder if there is a “Thomas Brown” affect on Cam because this was the Cam we all were looking forward to at the start of the season.Jourdan Rodrigue: I think clarity of plan + role was helpful and I think Thomas Brown deserves a lot of credit for a lot of things most people won’t ever see publicly, including the resurgence of this run game. That’s not to take away from anybody else. RBs coach on most staffs, especially this one, is one of the more uniquely isolating roles on a football team and any first-year coach in this situation would have a hell of an uphill climb even without the injury issues they dealt with and lack of veteran presence in the room.December 27, 2022 at 9:21 am #142311zn
ModeratorWhat did yesterday say about the standard and culture of the @RamsNFL?
On tonight’s Coach McVay Show, a pretty candid reflection. How the 2022 players have inspired him. pic.twitter.com/GKniQximFo

ModeratorOver 2 seasons, an LA Rams RB has rushed for 100+ yards in a game 3 times. Coleman Shelton was the OC in all 3 games. (Brian Allen played 1 snap in one game)
So why am I the only person to notice?#RamsHouse #LARams #ColemanShelton

ModeratorBlaine Grisak@bgrisakDTRAfter being in 11 personnel on 100% of their plays the last four weeks, they moved to 48% 12 personnel against the Broncos with an EPA per play of 0.21. No Skowronek a reason for this. Need depth at TE to run it more next year, but something the offense needs more of..All three of Cam Akers’ touchdowns and his two biggest runs against the Broncos all came in 12 personnel.December 27, 2022 at 4:31 pm #142336zn

ModeratorBrett Kollmann@BrettKollmannIf your nickel is soft as toilet paper and can’t play the run, you die. If your nickel is slow and can’t carry a vertical, you die. If your nickel can’t at least survive a two way go in man from time to time, you die. It’s the most important spot in a modern secondary imo.December 28, 2022 at 2:07 am #142345zn
ModeratorRams took ex browns who were being reported as bad team players and made them ball out. Mayfield and OBJ both will have a ton of interest this off season. Prior to their Rams signings no one wanted them. That’s culture pic.twitter.com/dKQVy0Z35t

ModeratorIf you're interested in the resurgence of Cam Akers over the last month or so, Matt Waldman has 17 minutes of film study for you.
For me, the fact that he hasn't put the ball on the ground over this time is the brightest spot of all. https://t.co/X5WHub9UQO

Moderator𝕋𝕠𝕞@TL_LARamsSo were the Cam Akers issues mainly down to the RB coaching? He has had a resurgence since Thomas Brown took over coaching RBs again and the previous RB coach left..Michael Miller@megatonmykMaybe but the last 3 games the Oline has gelled because with the exception of Allen it’s been the same guys 3 of them are vets. DL Larrell Murchison, who had 2.5 sacks in his first game with the Rams, surprised and delighted teammates when he celebrated after a sack. “Well, the dance definitely sticks out,” said Bobby Wagner, grinning. “When you come into a team (like that), he’s quiet, doesn’t reallysay much. Just kind of meeting with coaches, trying to get sped up on the defense. Then he goes out and gets a sack and starts dancing, starts talking to us – like, where did this come from?! But he’s put a lot of work (in) to try to understand the scheme, understand the nuances
of the defense, and I think that it was really fun just watching him have fun out there, let loose, not worry about always being right and making plays. … Everybody was feeding off that energy, because he probably said about four words before that.”
