ZooeyModeratorWell, they still have Jimmy G, and who knows, they might keep him as insurance. At any rate, the Trey Lance thing is interesting. The media have practically all decided he is a bust. Based on a few hints here and there about him ‘not being ready.’ I dunno. What if he ‘is’ an upgrade over Jimmy G? Imagine that beastly 49er team we saw last year, with a slight upgrade at QB. The 49ers are a kind of wild-card. All depends on Trey.
The “Trey is maybe not working out” narrative is pretty sketchy, from what I gather from NoCal radio. And it’s based on what “insiders” were saying last season. All I’m hearing is a report that coaches were somewhat disappointed in his development last season. There were no claims made as to whether it was learning the playbook, execution, or whatever. But it’s a bit premature to bury his prospects, imo.
Furthermore, the 9ers tried to trade Garappolo, or at least were reported to be interested in doing so, but did not get their price. If that is true, then the 9ers felt that at a certain price (2 second-rd picks or more is what they allegedly wanted), they would have taken a deal, saved some cap space, and proceeded with Lance. That, at least, speaks to a willingness to go with Lance this year. They wouldn’t do that without a level of confidence. They were in the NFC Championship last year, and made it to the SB before with JimmyG in the past. Why would they deliberately make themselves worse? You don’t turn the keys over to an unqualified driver when your team is on the cusp.
So I think the Lance will have to beat out JG straight up, or at least give the coaches reason to think he’s on the road to eclipsing JG, or else they keep Garappolo another year.
Either way, the 9ers should not be ranked at 24. IMO, they are closer to #10 than they are to #24.
But let’s just tee it up, and find out.

ZooeyModeratorThat cant be real. Rogers did not really type that.
I think it would have made legitimate news media within an hour or two if this was real. People who fill the sports airwaves 24 hours a day have to talk about something, and this would have been mentioned.

ZooeyModerator49ers are ranked 24? WTF are they smoking?
Yeah. They are better than that, even if they go with Trey Lance, and he isn’t any good.
ZooeyModeratorI gotta say that the first thing that set off my BS meter (and I haven’t “looked into this” to see if it IS real or not) is that the original comment places Cousins in the same zip code as Rodgers.
ZooeyModeratorAddendum 2: Some people claim this is all bogus. Forgery of some kind.
Anyway, how ’bout those Rams?
ZooeyModeratorThey have Washington, the Lions, and the Giants ranked higher than the 49ers.
ZooeyModerator
ZooeyModeratorAddendum: Apparently, Kelly didn’t even directly respond to Rodgers.
ZooeyModeratorAnd now…oh, no…Rodgers has circled the Rams game on his calendar.
WHAT🤯🤯🤯 #Packers QB Aaron Rodgers doesn’t hold back in response to Kelly Stafford, wife of #Rams and former #Lions QB Matt Stafford. 😳

ZooeyModeratorThe “Replacement Theory” is accurate.
The full theory says not only that POC are gaining #s on the white population, but that it is deliberate and conscious, and when the white population is small enough, POC will just kill off all the remaining white people. It isn’t just an observation of demographical trends, it’s a bonkers, hateful, paranoid conspiracy theory.
And my thing is…even if whites will be replaced…so fucking what? Only half-blood whites? M’kay.
What they don’t understand is that it is that way already. They’re aren’t any pure blood anythings.
ZooeyModeratorHe thinks he will be back in November to play against the Saints. Rams target for him is Broncos.
That is a 35-day difference.
November 20 vs. December 25.
8 regular season games vs. 3 regular season games.
That’s not a small gap to bridge when you’re talking about money.

ZooeyModeratorI think the Rams can pull 11-6 against that schedule. Win the games they’re supposed to win, like Seattle, Atlanta, Carolina, and Dallas. That’s 5. Split the rest.
ZooeyModeratorDo you generally get the Rams on TV when it’s “regional” action? This year, us “nomads” should have a nice selection of national games. But those of us on the East Coast tend not to get the regional stuff very often.
We get a few games here. I am in 49er territory, so they take precedence. I get the Rams when they kickoff in a time slot that is not in conflict with the 49ers and/or Raiders depending on which network has the game. If the Rams play at a time/network not in conflict with either of those teams, I get them most of the time.
Otherwise, I watch online.
ZooeyModeratorNine games at home, 8 away.
One of the “away” games is the Chargers. So 10 of their games are in SoFi, and only 7 are truly road games.
Only one of those away games is in the Eastern time zone.

ZooeyModeratorFirst of all, whoever wrote that piece in the WaPo doesn’t know what the left even is. He/She was listening to “hard-left” podcasters? Really? No, the fuck they weren’t. So that’s just the starting point.
Secondly, the ENTIRE argument is based on anecdotal nonsense. There is not a shred of evidence to support the idea that millennials were left to begin with, or that they are moving right. The entire piece is basically fiction, painting a narrative the author wants to believe, right along the old trope that people grow more conservative as they age.
Sure there is a lot of dissatisfaction with Democrats. Duh. But that doesn’t mean anybody is moving to the right.
I am not saying that there aren’t millennials out there floundering around, groping for answers the system isn’t providing. I’m sure there are. But the idea that that generation is buying into GOP ideology has no basis. Hell, a LOT of the MAGA/Trump crowd hate GOP ideology. They’re there for the anger, resentment, and racism.
ZooeyModeratorAll I know is that I’m battle-tested from hanging out on this board with a bunch of pussy fans who hate the Rams.
17-0, baby.
Me and Old Hacker are the only 2 Rams fans left, I guess.
ZooeyModeratorYeah, that whale photo.
That would be an intense few seconds. Good lord, the majesty and power would be overwhelming.
