Nate Landman calls his extension with the Rams “life-changing.”

“This is the happiest I’ve been and the most fun I’ve had playing football.”

Sean McVay said the back end of the Rams defense as a whole is playing “really well.”

Rams solution to having a weak secondary and no opportunity to add players?

Just go ahead and take the guys you have and make them a good secondary.

I’m going to apply the same approach to my finances. What do I do if I have no money? Just go ahead and have money anyway.

Again praised assistant HC/pass game coordinator Aubrey Pleasant, safeties coach Chris Beake and defensive assistant Mike Harris for their work with that group.

“I’m just really, really pleased with how that’s looked.”

    McVay on CB Cobie Durant:

    “The landshark’s balling.”

Not only do the Rams now have the NFL’s top point differential at +127, but they’ve also beaten the teams ranked No. 2 (Colts) and No. 3 (Seahawks).

Someone told me recently that #BenJohnson has been influenced greatly by #MikeMartz & as I continue to study the film there is no doubt! The number of ways they run “PINCH” (Big In w/ Influence Post inside of it) is awesome – that’s the “Route that Built my House” & is good vs every coverage, so can’t have it enough ways IMO!!

from How LA replaced Lake, Higbee and Havenstein: https://theramswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/rams/2025/11/24/rams-week-12-snap-counts-playing-time-buccaneers/87445262007/?taid=6924849c4b123d000180c8d8&utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=trueanthem&utm_source=twitter

The Los Angeles Rams lost three key starters in their Week 11 win over the Seattle Seahawks, all of them landing on injured reserve. Quentin Lake, Tyler Higbee and Rob Havenstein were all put on IR and will miss a minimum of four games, but the Rams have a good plan in place when it comes to replacing each player.

Wallace takes Lake’s spot in the slot: Prior to Sunday, Wallace had never played more than 55% of the snaps in a single game, but he was on the field for 89% against the Bucs, taking Lake’s spot in the slot. It’s unclear whether he played that much because of Roger McCreary’s injury after just one snap, but Wallace got the start, not McCreary.

Forbes and Durant still top 2 CBs: The Rams use a lot of defensive backs but Emmanuel Forbes Jr. and Cobie Durant remain their top two cornerbacks, with Darious Williams also rotating in as the third option. Forbes played 73%, Durant played 71% and Williams played 56% of the snaps, with Kam Curl, Kamren Kinchens and Wallace all playing 89%, too.

Parkinson and Allen remain ahead of Ferguson: Parkinson had a big game with four catches for 41 yards and a touchdown, doing an excellent job in Higbee’s place. Davis Allen was the No. 2 tight end and caught three passes for 29 yards, while Terrance Ferguson remains the third option, playing only 15 snaps.

Whittington and Mumpfield both contribute at WR: With Xavier Smith out, Jordan Whittington and Konata Mumpfield both played meaningful roles on offense. Mumpfield caught two passes for 25 yards and Whittington caught three for 17 yards, playing a combined 57 snaps.

Forbes has definitely figured something out. He is sticky, and he has good closing speed, and WA just cut him halfway through his 2nd season.

He is small (160 lbs) with wiry legs, and couldn’t tackle when in WA. His confidence collapsed. They cut him as a clear on the field failure. And he really was that, a failure…at that point anyway.

The Rams worked on his strength, his tackling, and his confidence.

    It worked obviously.

Durant and Forbes were both top notch in that game. The combination of Shula at DC and Pleasant as secondary coach is working wonders. And Witherspoon is coming back.

Nate Tice noticed the Rams quick snap count on third down:

I had a little moment of annoyance with them. They were laughing at how the Rams handled the Tampa D. At one point, they mention Whittington’s catch and run, where JW eludes a couple of would-tacklers and gets a few extra yards on what was at first just a 6 or 8 yard catch. They laughed at the Tampa D for not being able to tackle who they called “Jordan ordinary Whittington,” as in he’s just this JAG so what’s with missing a few tackles on him.

Well. Whittington was renowned at Texas for his run after the catch ability. I’ve seen enough plays with him since last year when they drafted him to know that that ability of his translates to the pros. In fact I think he has been under-used this year.

This is a picky little detail, but I thought they were being a little smug and dismissive about that.

Which, I know, is a first world problem. So here are a couple of analysts praising my team after a big win, and I am annoyed by one toss-off remark they make about what is to them just an obscure depth player.

But I stand by it. 😎

No one is playing better at QB than Matthew Stafford. He should be on the top of every NFL MVP list. Watching him play is like poetry in motion. You’d be hard pressed to find anyone with better arm talent at the age of 37.

Bucs QBs threw 17 incompletions tonight

10 of them were either deflected or intercepted by Rams defenders

    from https://theramswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/rams/2025/11/23/rams-buccaneers-week-12-takeaways-win/87442332007/?taid=6923e7a9c9b8e40001d2e318&utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=trueanthem&utm_source=twitter

Secondary has become a strength. Even without Quentin Lake, the Rams’ secondary locked down the Buccaneers. Emmanuel Forbes Jr. broke up five passes, Cobie Durant knocked away a touchdown pass and scored his own touchdown on a pick-six in the first quarter and just about every player in the secondary is a sure tackler in the open field.

With Lake and Ahkello Witherspoon both expected to return at some point this season, the Rams’ secondary is only going to get better as the year goes on. Even right now, Emmanuel Forbes Jr. and Durant both look like No. 1 cornerbacks, with Darious Williams also playing well.

Rams sure looked like the best team in the NFL on Sunday night as they obliterated the Buccaneers.

    PFF@PFF
Matthew Stafford in his past 8 games

    25 TDs
    0 INTs

    J.B. Long@JB_Long
Rams red zone last 5 games: 18 TD passes in 21 trips

Stafford in the red zone this season: 24 TD, 0 turnovers

First in the NFC to 9 victories. McVay’s 8th winning season in 9 years.

Stafford’s first career 6-game winning streak. His MVP campaign shifts into top gear with a 3TD performance. 308 passing attempts (across 8 games) without an INT.

    Greg Beacham@gregbeacham
    Matthew Stafford’s last 8 games: 25 TD passes, 0 interceptions, 2,091 yards, 66.5 completion %.

He has 308 straight pass attempts without an INT — the longest streak in his career, in the NFL this season and in Rams history.

Matthew Stafford was sublime, Davante Adams scored two more touchdowns and the defense scored a pick-six.

The Rams are 9-2, winners of 6 straight and have the best record in the NFC.

PFF’s initial metrics for Week 12 have Emmanuel Forbes allowing no catches on eight targets.

That’s about what it looked like.

Emmanuel Forbes is why people buy low on failed 1st round draft picks.

Not only that, it’s the highest point differential through Week 12 of his HC career.

    Nate Atkins@NateAtkins_
The Rams now lead the NFL in point differential at +124.

They’re at +118 during this 6-game winning streak, with an average margin of victory of 20 points.

The Rams have held 9 of their last 17 opponents to 10 points or fewer dating back to last December. Extraordinary.

In 2025 base defense = 20th in NFL and are good vs run

    DE Desjuan Johnson

With Stetson Bennett as the emergency QB.

Xavier Smith didn’t practice much, so Jordan Whittington and Konata Mumpfield will split WR3 reps.
