    One thing that gets forgotten about is that Von had a monumental impact on this defense.

    Not only as an experienced leader, but once he saw Burrow having a pocket to step into with everyone overrunning it, he starting spinning back inside. You can’t teach that stuff.

    You know who else deserves a ton of credit? Brycen Hopkins, and the Rams coaching staff for making sure so many players are prepared to step in once injury happens.

    After Blanton went down, Hopkins caught 4 for 47.

    Bengals were there all night long but in the end 3 – 14 on 3rd down, 1 – 3 on 4th and 7 sacks allowed will get you beat almost every time. Rams had more experience, more playmakers and Cooper Kupp and that was enough.

    I mean, can you imagine the Bengals thinking about this game all offseason? The Rams got to the end without Woods, OBJ and Higbee, and couldn’t run the ball, and they STILL got beat by Cooper Kupp. And that’s a compliment to Kupp (and Stafford).

    One person who probably will get lost in all of this, and shouldn’t be, is A’Shawn Robinson. What a monster today.

    How much differently will Matthew Stafford be viewed now? He was 0-3 in the playoffs over his first 12 seasons with Detroit, a stat monster with a massive hole in his resume. Then he led three game-winning drives in the Rams’ playoff run, including this one tonight to win

    When #Rams coach Sean McVay saw Bengals in the shotgun before that final fourth down play he said out loud Aaron Donald is gonna close the game out. Donald did. McVay just now: “Aaron Donald is the F’IN man.”

    McVay was mic’d up so this should be verifiable soon.

    People will tell you that Burrow thrives in pressure, about how he took 9 sacks and still won. Well he took 5+ sacks in 5 regular season games this year and they were 1-4 in those games. And they scored an avg of 19ppg in those games. -8 pts compared to their season avg.

    Not knocking Burrow, he’s been really impressive and deserves credit. But this mythic narrative of the Bengals unlockable defense and Burrow overcoming all odds is manufactured.

    He talks a lot about AD taking to hard coaching. In fact that was a theme immediately when they hired Henderson. AD went to Henderson, we heard, and said I want you to push me. That was from the very start. I think Henderson was a great hire. Because of the weaker games this season some of us have been a bit skeptical about the Morris defense. But Henderson makes it clear that Robinson coming through this year was no fluke, that Miller was a great addition, and so on. The front 5 (minus ILBs) really has been outstanding in the post-season. He’s telling me my weaknesses and things I need to clean up and trying to teach me things that I can do better and work better that can help my game. When you’ve got a coach like that, you just sit and listen and you try to keep what you’ve been doing but also add what he’s trying to teach me and make me that much better.

    The Bengals played GB, LAC, and DEN earlier this season. Reason that’s relevant is all three defenses run some sort of Fangio-based defense (like the Rams). In those games: Joe Burrow: 246 yards/game, 4 TDs, 4 INTs, 4 sacks/game Cincy: 19.6 PPG, 1-2 record

    It’s been a pick your poison thing with OBJ and Kupp. Play Robber over Kupp to bracket him, OBJ is left 1-1 for backside digs. Slide the other way, allow Kupp to kill you with choice routes. It took a few weeks, but McVay is feasting with these two at the table right now.
