znModeratorRich Eisen@richeisenTom Brady lost a 17-point lead for the first time ever to lose an 8th regular season game for the first-season ever and Bill Belichick’s team now owns perhaps the most situationally bone-headed play of all-time. The NFL Earth is off its axis.

znModeratorWow. Cowboys lose a game they had no business losing.
First the disastrous performance against the Texans last week. Now they cough up a 27-10 lead to a 5-8 Jaguars team, to lose in overtime.
An abhorrent way to go into their most important game of the season, against Philly.

On one hand, completing the largest comeback in NFL history — turning a 33-0 deficit into a 39-36 win, as the Vikings did against the Colts on Saturday — is a sign a team is capable of anything.
On the other: The Vikings continue to leave us questioning whether they’re actually good.
Minnesota entered Saturday with a negative point differential, despite its 10-3 record. It left with the NFC North title and its seventh fourth-quarter comeback of the season. That’s impressive and alarming; it means the Vikings have trailed in the fourth in 10 of 14 games.
- The 33-point comeback broke a record set by the 1992 Bills, who overcame a 32-point deficit to defeat the Oilers 41-38 in an AFC wild-card game.
- At halftime, Kirk Cousins was 6-of-12 for 43 yards. He proceeded to complete 28 of 42 passes for 417 yards and four touchdowns in the second half and overtime. (Roller coaster for fantasy managers.)
- The Colts dropped to 1-4 under interim coach Jeff Saturday and have been outscored 69-9 in the second halves of their last two games combined. Yikes.
One more stat to melt your brain, via Yahoo: Since 1930, teams were 1,548-1-1 when leading by 30-plus. Truly a work of art.
Elsewhere, Josh Allen looked like an MVP as the Bills clinched a playoff spot. And the Browns won a snoozer over the Ravens.
znModeratorPete Prisco@PriscoCBSRewatched Bills-Dolphins. Josh Allen is unreal. Has anybody proved more people wrong than him? He was ripped in the draft process and in his early years. Big miss for almost all out there.
znModeratorStu Jackson@StuJRamsRams HC Sean McVay said DL Marquise Copeland (ankle), DL Aaron Donald (ankle), LB Travin Howard (hip), CB David Long Jr. (groin) and QB John Wolford (neck) are OUT for Monday Night Football against the Packers. C Brian Allen (knee) will be questionable.

Packers coach Matt LaFleur kindly took time for a virtual sitdown with LA beat writers this afternoon.
On Sean McVay/Rams signing Baker Mayfield: “Yeah, you know, can’t say I was real excited about it, from a competitive standpoint…He’s a guy that I got a lot of respect for.”LaFleur and McVay have caught up every so often about their similarly unique seasons. LaFleur says he has more appreciation for now is dealing w/ coaching turnover at extreme levels.
This is my first year kinda experiencing that…and, I mean, it’s a bitch to go through.”

znModeratorRams WR Tutu Atwell discusses his speed, first NFL touchdown & Cooper Kupp’s mentorship | Featured on Rams Revealed Ep. 97
https://www.therams.com/news/rams-revealed-tutu-atwell-featured-speed-touchdown-cooper-kupp
Tutu Atwell is the fastest Ram.
We have NextGen data to back it up. He regularly reaches 21 miles per hour on game day, according to GPS data.
But this week on Rams Revealed, the second-year pro told us that’s not even close to his ceiling.
“Actually, when I was in Louisville, my top was 24 (miles per hour),” Atwell said of his college days.
So that led us into a conversation about formulating an all-Los Angeles Rams 4×100 relay team, and who Atwell would want on the track with him to win a league-wide race. The Miami native, fresh off a mini-bye week trip home, didn’t even take the anchor leg for himself!
“Van (Jefferson) will start off. Jalen (Ramsey) second leg,” he quickly decided.
Then, after proposing the Rams hold tryouts for the right to run third, Atwell plugged himself in to run third, build a big lead, and set Robert Rochell up to hold down the anchor role.
“I’m gonna put Scoota on the fourth leg… He’s just gonna bring it home.”
A bright spot within a challenging season for the Rams, and the offense in particular, Atwell’s emergence brings optimism for what’s to come – perhaps as soon as this weekend at Lambeau Field on Monday Night Football, but also in 2023.
Whereas Atwell was too overwhelmed to execute a celebration in New Orleans following his first NFL touchdown, he promised us there’s something TikTok worthy in store the next time he hits paydirt.
For all those details and a whole lot more about the 23-year old, including his IMDB credentials and love of gaming, plus Cooper Kupp’s influence and whether he’ll be drafted in fantasy leagues next year, check out this week’s Rams Revealed on YouTube as well as your preferred podcast platform.

.
Jourdan Rodrigue@JourdanRodrigueSounds like Michael Hoecht is making a case for a longer-term role specifically as a pass-rusher with the Rams. Raheem Morris even alluding today to Hoecht “changing his body type” a bit toward more of a pure pass-rusher. Very interesting..Stu Jackson@StuJRamsRams DC Raheem Morris on team waiving OLB Terrell Lewis: Combination of getting Michael Hoecht acclimated to position, Keir Thomas seeing more time + being able to get Daniel Hardy some snaps as well. Also less likely that Lewis was going to be active this week vs. previous wks.SeattleRams@seattlerams_nflWould that help with setting an edge in the run game? Seems like the Raiders exploited that early, forcing the Rams to play Thomas more.Jourdan Rodrigue@JourdanRodrigue
I think that seemed like more of an eyes/discipline thing. He had his eyes in the wrong spots and that’s where his contact points wentDon’t think he is “the future” at this moment but maybe real solid rotational guy
znModeratorBlaine Grisak@bgrisakDTRThe Packers run defense ranks 32nd in DVOA. Their 0.073 EPA per rush allowed ranks 31st. They are allowing five yards per carry which also ranks in the bottom-5 at 30th. Rams NEED Akers to take over on Monday night…
znModeratorJourdan Rodrigue@JourdanRodrigueThe Rams are releasing OLB Terrell Lewis, per source..Lewis’ release means the Rams waived both OLBs who entered the year expected to be the starting rotation opposite Floyd

Wow, the weather looks really nasty for our game Monday. Rams can’t catch a break.
13° is painful. Mayfield may be used to playing in the cold, but that’s going to be a challenge for others. Advantage Wisconsin residents. Our running game may need to rear its head. Our run D gives me hope and Rodgers must be harassed (if we can). That’ll be the key along with moving the chains on the ground.
Now watch Baker come out slinging it all over the yard
