ParticipantHoly Fuck!
What the heck is in that water at the University of York?
If that beast was in New York, I think it would be getting comfortable with some Duck Sauce…
TSRF
ParticipantI think we dodged a bullet here. Rogers may be “better” than Stafford, but he is such a douche. I wouldn’t be happy if the Rams had gotten Rogers this off season. Too bad he won’t end up imploding SF…

ParticipantSo. You saw my Satan and raised me a Yahweh…
I fold. The best I had was the stupid Boston accent, but that doesn’t compare to earthquakes.TSRF
ParticipantBTW, still feeling GREAT after my 2nd shot.
TSRF
ParticipantMy bad. What I meant is THE Satan loves the Red Sox; A Satan (probably one of the intern Satan’s or maybe just a Wood Nymph) loves the Giants. Humans fall for the lesser demons all the time, so no shame on you. It is a well known fact that THE Satan only watches AL East baseball, unless the Blue Jays are doing OK, then he channel surfs, but just between the game and reruns of “Hogan’s Heroes”.

ParticipantI’m going for my 2nd Pfizer shot today. My wife had her 2nd Moderna last week, and she had bad upper body pains, a headache and a fever for 2 days.
By the way Zooey, you’re wrong on who Satan’s team is. If Satan wore socks, what color would they be? Red, or course. I rest my case.

ParticipantThe fact that Lindsey Graham won re-election in the 2020 cycle makes me want to puke every time I think about it. Well, Ted Cruz too, but that probably deserves another thread.

ParticipantHey, Joe. Where you going with that gun in your hand?
Agree on Devo. They should be in. Whip It! and Satisfaction were masterpieces.
The other two I think definitely belong are Tina Turner and Todd Rundgren.
Tina has had an amazing career, from her early stuff with Ike, her solo stuff in the 60’s, her revival in the 80’s and just for being her. Hell, her Acid Queen in the movie Tommy should get her in all by itself!
Rundgren could get in just as a producer. Grand Funk Railroad were a bunch of washed up nobody’s before he produced “We’re an American Band.”. True, they still are washed up nobody’s, but everybody knows THAT song. He also took heavy metal XTC and convinced them to make “Dear God”. Bold move at the time, great song. As a musician and front man, he is no slouch. I did see him live once, in Providence, RI, so maybe I’m biased in his favor.
The best of the rest?
Carole King – just saw her do a COVID vaccine song.
Kate Bush – her duet with Peter Gabriel on “Don’t give up’ on the “So” album is timeless
The Go-go’s – Hey, are they all chicks?
Everybody else can go fuck off.

ParticipantIrv was a great player and a great broadcaster. RIP Irv!

ParticipantSame Trappist brand, but different favor: Seedless Raspberry Jam. Off the charts on my home made (via bread machine) flaxseed Prairie Bread.

ParticipantI admire your optimism, but is going to be much worse than you state.
Take off those rose colored glasses, Herzog.
I am kidding, of course.
TSRF
ParticipantIt’s the end of the world as we know it…
Really.

ParticipantMaddy! Who’s next; Lyster??
Let’s hope, once things are all back to normal, we can be singing, “Hail, hail, the gang’s all here!”

ParticipantI’m beginning to like the trade more and more.
I tried to think (without resorting to Google) of a few QB’s who were on bad teams early on, then went on to greatness.
Two names came to me: Jim Plunkett and Steve Young.
I’m sure there are 10 QB’s who crashed and burnt for every one that went on to succeed, but I think the Rams are going to put Stafford into a position to really succeed. I hope so, anyway.
Now we definately need a deep threat WR.

ParticipantI heard a CBS Sports Minute with Jim Rome on WFAN sports radio this afternoon. He implied that where there is smoke, there is fire with the Rams / Goff talk, and that we should be prepared for Goff being elsewhere next season. Just his take, but he is sort of an insider, I guess.

ParticipantI say, keep them guessing on the QB front. Switch them out on alternate series, activate Bortles too and have a three QB rotation. That would certainly fuck with them…
TSRF
ParticipantBring on the Packers!
TSRF
ParticipantWTF? New England gets Denver – Los Vegas? Is this punishment because the Patriots suck??
BTW, Happy New Year, all.
TSRF
ParticipantI’m beginning to lose faith.
I mean, we all saw the Jets coming, and look what they did to the Browns, but the Seahawks?? How the fuck can we lose to that shit bag team? Really?
TSRF
ParticipantMaybe they should never wear that color combo ever again.
TSRF
ParticipantIf this is a trap, and we lose this game, we don’t deserve to make the playoffs.
Good news is, I don’t think it is a trap.

ParticipantThe Pats are garbage. They barely beat the Jets.
Time for statement.TSRF
ParticipantI’ve been quiet about this for a while, but I just can’t take it any more. The yellow stripe on the bone unis is horrible! It’s gotta go (other than that, good win).

ParticipantSo as I’m driving home from Boston today, they have a 10 Questions feature on 98.5 the Sports Hub. One of the questions was a redo of the 2016 draft. Lance Burkhart was the NFL expert and then there were 2 or 3 talking heads. They all picked Wentz over Goff. On a bright note, they all picked Ramsey above either QB!
December 2, 2020 at 1:01 am in reply to: can the poor 7-4 Rams hope to compete w/ the 6-5 Cardinals? #125141TSRF
ParticipantSo I didn’t get to watch the Pats – Cards game on Sunday. The Fox channel out of Hartford that carried it is no longer available on my cable package. No matter; Boston sports radio painted the picture for me on my way up there Monday morning:
Cam Newton was horrible; he only completed 9 passes, but the Pats won.
Murray had a shoulder (hurt against the Seahawks) and the Cards didn’t let him run much. Pats D contained him.
The Rams D should set the tone. On O, they should run the ball early and often. I’m looking for a comfortable 4 point win…
TSRF
ParticipantWe don’t care if we lose! You ain’t goin to have a stat line Mr. Two First Names. Arrr…
TSRF
ParticipantI agree with you here, ZN. Probably best for us that the Cards don’t sweep the Seahawks.
Although, I will admit that growing up in the latter part of last century 50 miles away from NYC, being a Rams fan but surrounded by Giants fans, I had an affinity for the ST L Cards. Neil Lomax. Stump Mitchell. Otis Anderson. They gave the Giants fits at times, and I loved it.
