I would’ve called another QB sneak on 4th and goal.

    oline giving up pressure.

fail to score td with a yard to go.

turnover that takes away at least a fg.

defense gives up huge td at the end.

    sigh.

    I’m beginning to lose faith.

I mean, we all saw the Jets coming, and look what they did to the Browns, but the Seahawks?? How the fuck can we lose to that shit bag team? Really?

Is it McVay, Goff or both? I don’t think you can pin this one on anyone else.

    Defense played great.

We have a field goal kicker.

We really struggle scoring points in some games.

Switch QBs and I believe we win going away.

Do we not have a backup QB? I mean outside of the shit play and having more turn overs than any player in the last two seasons… this alone…

    Defense played great.

they played good. i wouldn’t say great. but they played good.

offense was terrible. absolutely terrible. left at least 10 points on the board. at the very least.

Frankly, at this point, I’d rather they crawl,
    bleeding, wrecked, unloved
into the playoffs as the last Wildcard.

    These are the pandemic rams.

We will rally around John Wolford, and we will play good football.

I dunno Invader. It seemed like around 1/3rd of the game we gave them the ball between the 40 and 50 yet still held them to 20 points. I think the defense played great.

if they get at least one turnover. let’s say that dwill int drop that probably goes in for a td. if they don’t give up that huge td at the end when the game was still in the balance. then i’d say great.

but they played good. good enough. but the offense played like crap.

I didn’t get to see the game…..I’m not sure I want to now. I know a lot of y’all love Goff, but how is 1-2 turnovers a game for a QB acceptable?

    Because it isn’t 1 or 2 turnovers a game.

There’s a spate of them in 2 games, and then all the other games are just not as high as that when it comes to turnovers.

The Miami game and 2nd SF game combined = 4 INTs and 3 fumbles (all 3 lost). So that’s 7 in 2 games.

    All other 13 games combined = 9 INTs and 3 fumbles w/ 1 lost for 10 turnovers.

Looking just at INTs, the 9 in 13 games = an INT percentage of 2.2%. Tomorrow when all of today’s stats are in it will be possible to say where that would rank in the league. It won’t be high but it won’t be one of the lowest either.

And they did not lose today because of the INT. That didn’t help but they still could have won at that point. If you’re going to name one play where they lost the game on offense–kind of a weird way to look at it cause it’s never just one play–it was being stopped on 4th and goal.

Plus there’s the fact that while Seattle was held to 27 minutes with the ball, they somewhat exceeded the Rams allowed points per play and touchdowns per game, along with getting 47% on 3rd down conversions, which is far above the Rams defensive average of 35%. (35% is 2nd in the league, 47% would be 27th). So as much as we like that defense, it fell below its standard–without the excuse of being on the field too long (Rams had the ball longer).

Fumbles plus interceptions seem pretty high to me.

Add this his third place standing in the league this season with 17 turnovers, just one behind Kirk Cousins and two behind Wentz.

That was Jared Goff’s 23rd game with a turnover since the start of last season, the most in the NFL, per @ESPNStatsInfo

it’s too many turnovers. it can’t be denied. he’s making bad decisions.

it would still rank 21st. it’s too many turnovers.

this is pretty clear i think. even after taking out those two games.

with those 2 games, he ranks 23rd.

    ypa ranks 21st

    passer rating ranks 26th

this is all including today’s game.

is he as bad as those rankings suggest? i don’t think so. i think he’s better than that. it’s frustrating for sure. but there’s better days to come for goff.

Thank you…. knew I wasn’t crazy. It isn’t acceptable to me. It’s one thing if the payoff was high… but his td to Int ratio isn’t good either.

    I agree with that.

The deeper issue that both the Seattle and Jets game have in common is that the OL got dominated. Goff AND McVay AND the Rams offensive personnel don’t have anything that will compensate for that when it happens. No receiver scares the D, their running game is too inconsistent, McVay doesn’t have anything to call on when that happens, and Goff is harassed and presses.

By the way in spite of that he had a 47% percentage third down conversion rate today. Across 15 games that would rank 4th in the league. You don’t do that if you are the terrible regressed qb many are claiming.

    he’s making bad decisions.

I think the issue is that he presses. In fact–I have always thought that. (I’ve always said it too.) What’s the difference? Just put in the abstract like that, “makes bad decisions” suggests he can’t process things. “Pressing” on the other hand means he tries to make plays when he shouldn’t and knows he’s in a bad situation.

Notice fumbles disappeared as an issue since the Two Really Bad Games. But sacks increased. He’s taking the sacks instead of trying to make the play in spite of an impending sack.

It’s a team problem you say? A mcvay playcalling problem? Maybe it’s just a QB problem that the rams have.

Oh man, it’s this crap again. Never ends. What do 2019 and the last 2 games this year have in common? OL got dominated. Last year it was because of injuries and inexperience. I don’t know what it is this year, maybe they miss Whit AND Blythe got exposed.

But we’re going to hear endlessly how it’s just all on the qb. It’s 2007 all over again.

    well. whit.

i mean we had to expect a drop off. not just for his ability to play left tackle and the fact that he’s the best olineman the rams have. but also being the most experienced. being the leader. a guy goff trusts.

so yeah. that’s definitely part of the problem.

Imo the coaching since the Pats game has completely collapsed. These guys just aren’t ready to play maybe the pandemic taking its toll or injuries but they just don’t look sharp. How many times did Goff have to get them lined up? Drops , blown coverages missed tackles missed blocks idiotic play calls over and over. They used to be known as a well coached team now they look like a team that doesn’t practice.

Sadly I agree with that. Something happened to this team in both the Jets game and this game.
