NERamParticipant
I say “W” cause I just saw an article on Brady, and the caption said he hasn’t missed a start since 2008, and doggone it, there has to be justice somewhere, somehow…
Doesn’t there???
NERamParticipantNo, no, don’t want “dat”.
Hate to think of one game as being all that important, but do agree that a W against the Vikes will do alot for this young team coming out of the gates.
Great way to dissipate the black cloud that is Bradfords knee.
NERamParticipantThat you said it is not at all a shock.
š
Somewhere between Wagoners 5-11 and Macks 13-3 is the 2014 reality for the Rams.
Guess it could be 11 wins, but I don’t have a real warm and fuzzy any more. I predicted a 10-6 season when Bradford and the WR’s started showing something this preseason, then upped it to maybe 11-5 after they played a couple of games.
Losing Bradford yanked it backward to 9-7.
That’s what I’m thinkin’. 9-7.

NERamParticipantWell, all right. Bring on the Vikings, then.
NERamParticipantGeez, I was gettin ready to pack up the tent and the camel to move to the next watering hole… š
NERamParticipantVery good news. Considering his criminal record, Iām surprised it wasnāt longer.
Yeaaaaaah, buddy.
Anything to help our divisional “friends”, eh?
NERamParticipantYeah, I do seem to recall the OL Merry-go-round. Bring em in, suit em up and turn on the churner.
Can certainly understand a preference for Boudreau wanting to teach technique to an experienced player, than basics to a rook.
Given Fishers fondness for DL, it does seem plausible that Sam and Westbrooks both make it.
NERamParticipantS’pose any would work OK, just as long as it doesn’t end up Shaun “Over The” Hill.
Or, “Hamburger” Hill…
NERamParticipant&That would be awesome ! 6 months heād be back before the draft and well tested by OTAās.
Just in time for the next preseason assault…
Sarcastic, I know. Sorry.
NERamParticipantIts gotta really suck for the vets, who’ve seen this rodeo before.
Not sure how to discern the difference between a perceived lack of heart, or an attempt to just get through the <meaningless> game without anything else bad happening.
NERamParticipantWhat possible good
can come of a fourth preseason
practice-game.Thereās gonna be more knees
blown out, somewhere.
It aint worth it.Do they really need
to play FOUR ?w
vNope.
Not sure the risk/reward payoff warrants games 1,2 or 3 either. Obviously stated in light of present circumstances
NERamParticipantPerhaps I’m being a bit melodramatic…
I mean, I do live in CT, and there’s lots of fun stuff to do in the fall, besides football.
We have leaf-peeping, we have raking of leaves, we have burning of leaves, we have stuffing of leaves into old garments to make scarecrows.
All told, who’s got it better than us, anyways? Hunh? Who?
NERamParticipantThe longterm diehard Rams fan.
That expression says it all, quite succinctly.

Where can (Austin) help the ball club if heās not getting a lot of opportunities on the offense?ā
Iām not sure thatās necessarily true. I think they will pass it plenty. I have less of a handle on this part of it but I also think they will rotate WRs, so itās not certain he will be crowded out in a numbers game. I do think they fully intend to set up a fair number of big strikes, and Austin can do that, as we know. I donāt think this will be Seattle. In 2012, Bradford was tied for 7th in the league with Manning for the number of passing plays of 20 yards or more. I expect that to continueā¦in principle, a play action offense with Stacy should not be that different from a play action offense with Jackson.
.,..
Ah, a voice of reason tacking back up the pieces of falling sky.
I like your version better. Thank you.
August 12, 2014 at 9:21 pm in reply to: Torry Holt: Tavon Austinās Biggest Impact Will be on Special Teams #3880NERamParticipantGeez, hate to think of him as just a special teams gimmick. I was hoping for more Welker-like contributions than Devin Hester v2.
August 12, 2014 at 8:43 pm in reply to: Sept 3,1999– Fast Eddie on Warner's first pre-season start after Green was lost #3875NERamParticipantRemember that time well. Felt like a kick in the stomach when Trent went down. Probably made the ensuing result that much sweeter, going from such a low to the unbelievable high so unexpectedly.
NERamParticipantSomething Snead said last night while in the booth caught my ear. Nothing really earth shattering, and not something we don’t already realize…
He said that a lot of what you see on the field during pre-season games are guys trying to make the team. And because of that, you tend to get a lot of “individual” performances, and not team focused effort.
That’s got to lead to missed assignments, blown coverages & gaps, etc.
Factor in having starters on the bench, rooks trying to make the team and doing their own thing, I dunno, I don’t get overly excited or disappointed in preseason. It is what it is.
Best part for me is seeing the new guys, and the possibilities.
NERamParticipantGZ’s a bust…

If it is at all possible, he looks to be playing faster this year. Getting reps both outside at WR and in the slot, especially when Britt and Quick are on the field. Also being seen on a semi regular basis in the backfield, and getting reps in the run game. I am a little concerned that many of his reps are between the tackles which exposes him to more hits that necessary. Obviously, he will be the primary Punt Returner, and will be as dangerous as ever in that role.
Not sure if its just me, but isn’t that kinda like taking a Corvette off-roading through the woods? Why tempt fate?
NERamParticipantI agree with Zack. š
10-6.
11-5 is too lofty a goal. Yer setting yerself up for hand wringing, bitter disappointment and November pastry making classes.
Rein it in a bit; you’ll be a happier person.
NERamParticipant1). Secondary
2). Receivers
3). Bradford
Don’t really have any pressing questions regarding what Bradford is capable of, I think I saw enough good last year. Really boils down to whether or not he can last an entire season, health wise, and can he lead the Rams into the post season.
NERamParticipantThose were the days when devoted Rams fans were all actively wishing Jay Zygmunt would just take over the team and run it right.
š
NERamParticipantIām glad you found your way, NERam.

vThatās all I heard when I went to the old board. Bzzzzzzzzā¦
Somebody had locked the front door, and I couldnāt get in. Had a bloody cake in the oven too.
Oh, well.
Where do you guys keep the sugar and flour around here?
We;re still sorting that out. In the meanwhile, welcome back from the void.
Thanks. Took awhile… That algebraic 404 equation threw me off course a bit.
