Predict Rams Record

I would say that there is a 99% chance the Rams will wind up between 6-10 and 12-4. Both extremes very unlikely.

I put the percentage between 8-8 and 10-6 to be 50%.

That makes the most likely outcome 9-7. And I think the Rams are more likely to be above that mark than below.

This year’s Rams are hard to predict. They are very young and it is not known how much they will improve from last year. The Rams are in the best division in football. So much depends on how well they compete within the division. Whatever the Rams do this year, they will be a better team in 2015.

9-7. They gotta cut down on penalties and turnovers. This division is brutal when teams make mistakes.

10-6 plus wildcard game victory.

Yes–9-7 seems to be a very reasonable prediction. Vegas seems to have them at an over/under of 7.5 so they expect pretty much last year’s season.

I–ever the optimist–see better.

But will 9-7 make the playoffs?

I don’t think so.

So this season could be exciting, encouraging and fun. But the fun will probably end come playoff time as a weak division team sneaks in for the last wild card at 10-6.

That’s my prediction. I’m sticking to it. At least until the first pre-season game.

9-7, and that feels optimistic at this point. Both the secondary and the WRs have starters who IMO still need to prove that they belong in the NFL. There’s no depth in the secondary and very little proven depth at LB. With their schedule, they need to win a lot early if they’re going to have a winning record and there’s so much that could lead to a slow start: Long and Bradford returning from injury, new DC, inexperienced secondary, Bailey’s suspension, Robinson learning to pass block. I know that I’m going to be reading the camp reports with more anticipation this year than any year in a long time. There are so many guys who *could* make the leap in ways that will take this team to the next level, but how many can really expect to do it and do it early.

I don’t really buy in to the “they need to make the playoffs this year” hype. I can imagine a 7-9 or – with a couple of key injuries – even a 6-10 season that I would feel good about and that would leave me very optimistic heading into 2015. Snisher has a plan. The DLine is stellar and deep; the OL and RBs are on their way there, and the LB unit is improving. I like how they drafted for the secondary, and – while I expect the unit to be fairly serious weakness in the coming season – I also think that it will probably be very good with another year of experience and drafting. When that happen – whether it’s this year or next – this is going to be a very tough team to score against, and that will let this O play the game that it’s built for. I just think it’s more likely to be next year.

Yeah I don’t either.

First, I think Fisher has 5 years. (Which really means 4 because he will want an extension.)

2nd, I don’t think there’s a “reach this pinnacle or die” mentality. As long as this is clearly a good team heading the right direction, I think there’s leeway with the record, depending on the circumstances.
