JackPMillerParticipantI ended up with this draft, with a mock draft simulator
R2-36: Steve Availa G/C TCU
R3-69: Zach Harrison Edge Ohio State
R3-77: Eli Ricks CB Alabama
R5-167: Davis Allen TE Clemson
R5-171: Jaxson Kirland OT/OG Washington
R6-177: Johnathan Mingo WR Mississippi
R6-182: Branden Joseph S Notre Dame
R6-189: Mekhi Garner CB LSU
R7-191: Chris Rodrigues RB Kentucky
R7-223: Brayden Willis TE Oklahoma
R7-251: Jake Moody PK Michigan
This would be an A+ Draft in my mind, if we got this draft.
JackPMillerParticipantI assume if Stafford retires next year, we are screwed with the cap again next year.

I’m not saying Stafford will be going, but it is, what if it happens scenario? In the trade, we get the Jet’s 13th pick, plus the Jets 1st and 2nd picks round next year. This is the draft I got, R1-13: Broderick Jones OT Georgia R2-36: Steve Availa OC/OG TCU R3-69: Zach Harrison Edge OSU R3-77: Eli Ricks CB Alabama R5-167: Kendra Miller RB TCU R5-171: Aiden O’Connell QB Purdue R6-177: Davis Allen TE Clemson R6-182: Aubrey Jackson LB Jackson State R6-189: Dylan Horton Edge TCU R7-191: Quindell Johnson S Memphis R7-223: Elijah Higgins WR Stanford R7-251: Brayden Willis TE Oklahoma I doubled up on Edge, and TE.
I don’t think anyone is giving up a 1st for Matt Stafford at this point… And now, the Larch.
I never said Stafford was going to get traded. Again, it is one of those, What if he did?

JackPMillerParticipantSomething tells me thar Max Pricher is going to be our new Long Snapper.
JackPMillerParticipantThat is a bad trade. A 3rd round pick plus a player, and that’s it? Dolphins won that trade easily. We should have gotten a first round pick in 2024.
JackPMillerParticipantIt was Minnesota or Dallas that it seemed in the 70’s that always knocked us in the playoffs.
I still remember the Mud Bowl, with heavy rain in a playoff game from the 77. Not sure if too many, which we lost 14-7. I don’t want into details. We should have won that game
JackPMillerParticipantRams General Manager Les Snead indicates that he's not going to trade Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp or Aaron Donald. https://t.co/sBrTR2icfN

JackPMillerParticipantSome guys I was impressed with, Nolan Smith, DJ Turner, Keondre Coburn, Siaki Ika, & Owen Pappoe.Even though neither are not at the combine, but I do like, that is Brayden Willis TE Oklahoma & Davis Allen TE Clemson. They are considered late 5th – late 6th round picks.JackPMillerParticipantThis is a bad sign, imo. Looks like Rams insiders (including Wagner) don’t think the Rams have enough to compete for a championship. And that they don’t think they can address their needs this year.
I know next season is going to be tough. I predict, after the 2023 season, Aaron Donald, Matt Stafford, and Sean McVay, will retire. Les Snead, and whoever the new Head Coach will be, will have a lot of work to do.
JackPMillerParticipantThis post is what can we do, to create cap space. Remember, we are $14 Million over the cap. You would like to get some more space as well, to sign rookies
Rams have one month to get under the cap. Two moves can get them there.

It doesn’t take an expert to understand the Los Angeles Rams aren’t in the best shape salary cap-wise. They’re currently $14.1 million over the salary cap, which has been set at $224.8 million for the 2023 season. It’s not an issue that they’re over the limit right now because the new league year doesn’t start for another month. On March 15, however, they have to be under the cap, per league rules. They’re also not the only team with more than $224.8 million allocated to players at the moment. There are 13 other teams that are over the cap, too. With one month until the deadline, the Rams need to make some moves to clear up some space. Whether that’s releasing players or restructuring their contracts, there are multiple avenues to freeing up money. Two simple moves can get them under the cap before March 15, and it doesn’t require them to release anyone. First, they can restructure Cooper Kupp’s contract, thus creating $14.19 million in cap space. That almost gets them under the cap right there. The second move they can make is restructuring Bobby Wagner’s contract, which would save them another $7.75 million in 2023. After those moves, the Rams would have $7.82 million in cap space, according to Over The Cap. It would make sense for them to tweak those two contracts because it’s highly unlikely that the Rams want to move on from either player anytime soon. If they restructure Aaron Donald’s deal, it’ll cause some pain in 2024 in the event that he retires. A restructure of Matthew Stafford’s contract would only save $251,250 in 2023, so his deal isn’t worth touching. Leonard Floyd could conceivably be a cap casualty, and there are rumors swirling about the possibility of dealing Jalen Ramsey. Kupp should be on the team for at least the next two years, and the same goes for Wagner. It’s better to restructure the contract of a player who is expected to be on the roster in the coming years than one who could be cut in the near future.
I’m not sure if I want to restructure Aaron Donald’s contract. I believe Matthew Stafford, Aaron Donald, and Head Coach Sean McVay will retire after this season, Donald’s cap number will be a killer, if we do it,
JackPMillerParticipantI would not want to restructure Aaron Donald’s contract next year, due to he is probably going to be in his last season. His dead money will be a real killer for cap. Also, I believe that Matthew Stafford, and Head Coach, Sean McVay, retires after the 2023 season, as well as AD.
JackPMillerParticipantNoteboom I don’t know about. It may actually be that Jackson is better.
I hope Jackson is better. Noteboom still played well at G.

February 16, 2023 at 11:48 pm in reply to: Bad draft? … general view of the draft (starting 2/12) #142923JackPMillerParticipantI feel Corner is not as great this year. Edge and Interior OLine are probably the best of position areas in this draft.

1. Cornerback
We may not see any corners selected inside the Top 5, and depending on team needs, we mat even see one selected in the top 10. However, the depth is incredible. Joey Porter, Jr., Cam Smith, Christian Gonzalez, DJ Turner, Kelee Ringo, Clark Phillips III, Deonte Banks, and Devon Witherspoon could all be in the first-round conversation.
2. EDGE rusher
Will Anderson, Jr. is arguably the best player in the draft, but there are plenty of guys to keep an eye on for both 3-4 and 4-3 schemes. Tyree Johnson has the size, speed, and production to warrant a top-ten selection, and other talents like Myles Murphy, BJ Ojulari, Isaiah Foskey, and Andre Carter will garner interest in the mid to late first round.
3. Running Back
This position is almost perennially deep. Like every year, there will be prospects who fall to day three that can be quality backs for years to come. While I do not support taking any running back in the first round, Bijan Robinson may be the best back to come out of college since Saquon Barkley. He is the only running back I have a first-round grade on, but there are a slew of names who will come off the board quickly on Day 2. There is quality depth once again.

JackPMillerParticipantCameron DaSilva@camdasilvaWho’s staying and who’s going? If Coleman Shelton is a free agent, I would let him walk
JackPMillerParticipantWOW. Ag was a great poster, and I know he will be missed.
JackPMillerParticipant1. Edge Rusher: Also toughest position to stack bc there is so much talent (and different kinds of talents). EDGE will stretch into day 3. 2. Cornerback: Underclassmen really helped. Deep group. 3. Tight End: I have 5 TEs in my top-50 and a few others in the top-100. Loaded!
edge rusher or corner it is then!
My top 3 is,
- Edge Rusher
- Interior Line, someone that can play Guard & Center.
- CB
My 3 wish picks, if a miracle would happen,
- BJ Ojulari(LSU)
- Either Steve Availa(TCU), or Ricky Stromberg(Arkansas)
- Riley Moss(Iowa)
Of course, those players probably won’t get to us, when we select in the 2nd, 3rd and later rounds.

JackPMillerParticipantThere is talk that if DeMaco Ryans takes either the Houston Texans or Denver Broncos HC job. Ejiro Evero will get the one Ryans doesn’t take. It’s looking Harbaugh is going back to Michigan, and Sean Payton is going back to TV.
January 27, 2023 at 3:18 pm in reply to: Rams tweets … 1/24 – 1/29 (including Rodrigue q & a) #142751JackPMillerParticipantLions get: Bobby Wagner, Jalen Ramsey and a 5th round pick Rams get: Pick 18 Who says noRams not only will say no, but they laugh at it. They are not giving them up, for something that low. The Lions would have to give us back the 6th pick, along with the 18th pick, this years 3rd round pick, and next years 1st round pick. and Aiden Huchinson, for the deal to work.
JackPMillerParticipantI dunno if they can upgrade, but Kupp needs some help.
well there’s obj and juju. but i think gesicki could be an exceptional receiving te. not a traditional wr but maybe could take attention away from kupp.
I do have a feeling that Allen Robinson is going to have a much better year. Ben Skowronek has been a nice find as well, for us.
I’m not sure I really want a WR in these next two draft classes. They look weak. Edge Rusher is real strong, along with interior OLine.
Next years draft, CB and Safety really looks good, Denzel Burk & “Kool Aid” McKinley leading the charge at CB. Andrew Mukaba, & Cole Bishop leading the charge at Saftety. That’s along with many more.
January 24, 2023 at 3:56 pm in reply to: divisional round aftermath & setting up conference games #142736JackPMillerParticipantLetting people who don’t know this. If the Bengals & 49ers win nextweek, it will be the 2nd time in history, that two teams have met each other three times in the Super Bowl, they faced each other in Super Bowl XVI in 1982, & Super Bowl XXIII in 1987. Cowboys and Steelers are the only teams to meet each other three times, which were Super Bowl X in 1976, Super Bowl XIII in 1979 & Super Bowl XXX in 1995. Again, just giving out some trivia
