Without Wms it honestly doesn’t matter who else you draft in rounds 1-3. That’s why I am so adamant about them hopefully getting a 1B back. They need a back they can win with even when Wms is out. And if Wms isn’t out, having 2 backs, a 1A and a 1B, is a good thing. After round 3 it is dicey on picking RBs. In fact, Wms aside, the last good, productive RB the Rams drafted after round 3 was …drumroll … nobody. Wms is the only RB picked after round 3 to make something of himself in the entire history of Rams drafting, from 1937 to 2023.

i just don’t think it’s worth it to draft an rb 1b in the first three rounds. but maybe the rams will think differently. strengthening in other areas can help the team if the rams are to lose williams for a short period of time. and it will have the added benefit of making the team better when he is in the team healthy as well.

Of course, that is if we can resign Kevin Dotson, and sign either AJ Espensa or Shaq Lawson, from the Buffalo Bills.

I’m reposting my dream draft, if somehow this happens, I did draft a RB.You may, like him.

The above changes, of course, if the Rams make miracles happen and sign Brian Burns. He gives them a top-flight edge, age 26 for the next season, so they can focus elsewhere. IMO, he should be their top priority. Also, I’m hoping they target young, ascending free agents, instead of older, one-year signings. Guys they can sign for at least three years during their peaks. Obviously, corners, safeties, a tight end, tackle, center. If they don’t draft a running back, they need to find help for Williams, via FA, and he needs to keep the offense humming at the same clip. No let down, etc. The NFL is a harsh world, but I’d cut Noteboom, Allen, Long, and Kendrick, post-June, to free up roughly 25 million.

    Salary Cap Calculator

But that’s tricky stuff, of course — the pre- and post-June cuts — cuz of timing, with FA starting in March. Their savings go way up, especially for Noteboom, but they need the cap space before June. So, they might not be able to wait. Have never been a Cap guy, so just tossing stuff around here. Anyway, they don’t really have enough room to splurge on more than one or two guys, at least not without those key cuts, and the timing doesn’t work in their favor for the initial wave, which Burns will most certainly be in (if he’s not tagged).

I’ve been pushing to keep Kevin Dotson, and sign either AJ Espensa or Shaq Lawson of the Bills. Buffalo is in a mess, cap wise. If we get  Dotson, and one of those two players from Buffalo, along with my dream draft(if it can happen), I feel playing in the Super Bowl next year, would not be shocking

i’m pretty sure he’s gonna get tagged. so then you’re looking at giving up significant draft capital.

My wish is to get either AJ Espensa or Shaq Lawson from the Bills. Both are going to be free agents, and the Bills, based on their cap, can’t sign both. I would love for either one, to be in horns.

My wish draft. Does not mean this will happen, but it is based on where players are expected to be, in the rounds. I’m expecting that Raheem Morris gets a Head Coaching gig. Which means, we get a 3rd round comp pick in 2024, and a 3rd round comp pick in 20205. I want the Rams to sign Aubrey Pleasant, our DB coach, to be our new DC.

Teams know, Alaric Jackson can’t stay healthy.

    Yeah like Roger Saffold. 😎

Losing Alaric Jackson would be know big deal, if another team signs him. That’s how I see it.

If you lowball Jackson you’re inviting the rest of the league to think about poaching him, and therefore getting a solid experienced veteran starting LOT at a very cheap price.

i agree. i was at one point wanting to draft a left tackle to replace jackson but at this point i’d rather they opt for continuity. bring back jackson. bring back dotson. they may have to draft a center. but i’d try to bring back as many starters as i could on the oline.

There is a chance, if Raheem Morris gets an HC job, we will get a 3rd round comp this year, and a 3rd round comp next year. I want us to sign, Aubrey Pleasant, our DB coach, as the new DC, fast.

Here’s my wishlist. Some of these players I have written down, could be late round to UDFA’s, mixed in with earlier round talent.. The talent is there,

    Wide receiver:
    J. Michael Sturdivant UCLA
    Kaden Prather Maryland
    Ty James Mercer

    TE:
    Jaheim Bell Florida State
    Erick Alt Iowa

    EDGE/DE:
    Zion Tupuola-Fetui Washington
    Jonah Ellis Utah
    Sundiata Anderson Grambling
    Thor Griffin(DE) Harvard

    ILB:
    Jeremiah Trotter Clemson
    Jaylon Ford Texas
    Omar Speights LSU
    Armon Bailey Sacramento State
    Devon Jones Kutztown University

    DT:
    Maason Smith LSU
    Kris Jenkins, Michigan
    T’Vondre Stewart Texas

One guy I thought about is former NFL Linebacker, Darryl Tapp, who is a DLine coach for the the 49ers, as our new DC, should Morris gets a HC position. Or we can make sure Anthony Pleasant stays, by offering him the DC spot, and that is again, Morris gets an HC position.

The Lions “out-physicaled” the Rams. The through tackles throughout the entire first half, busted up Stafford, Nacua, Williams, and Higbee. Just beat them up. The Rams won the 2nd half, but fell short. Zero turnovers. Bummer. That was a winnable game, but that’s the end of it. Puka Nacua. Good lord. I’d like to think, “Just wait until next year,” but I don’t see how he can improve on his game. Like… how? Hopefully Kupp comes back full strength.

Even though we can go on about plays, but the Rob Havenstein penalty, at the end, hurt us, and took the team out of field goal position. The D, could not come up with the stop, coming out of the two minute warning.

We played tough, but now it is time to concentrate on free agency and the draft.

I’m still pushing for us to sign, either AJ Espensa or Shaq Lawson. The Bills can’t sign both. Yes, they are Edge Rushers. Which one is available, 4 years $24 M, $18 M guaranteed, which means resigning certain guys, like Witherspoon probably can get a 1 year $2 M deal, Wentz 1 year $2 M deal.  Re-sign Demarcus Robinson for 2 years $5 M,

If we get that Edge Rusher, than we can draft a CB, and a Center

I want Hoect to be moved to DE

The person I fear most  is Craig Reynolds, when playing Lions this week. We need to contain him. That’s what happens when you have a Kutztown University graduate on the team. We all know how great the talent has been from KU players.

I know that, because I’m a Kutztown University Graduate. That’s why it is the greatest College/University throughout the Universe and beyond.

If the Rams had all 53 players from Kutztown University, we would be undefeated for decades, and never losing a Super Bowl. Just saying. 😆 😆 😆

My concern is we could be one and out in the playoffs. Our field goal kicker is trash, and our secondary is trash. Derion Kendrick starting, means to me, no one else is as good as him, on the roster. It is sad, you look in free agency for 2024, it is not that good either, based on what’s out there.

We need to play better than this. At this point of the season, we should not be playing down to our competition. Especially, against bad football teams. Granted we won, but we can not afford to play like this, in the playoffs, or we will get blown out.

I did one through a Mock Draft simulator. I turned down all trades. I did it for fun, hopefully, all of you can do one for fun. Click on the link below, and pick LAR. My picks are below. https://www.nflmockdraftdatabase.com/mock-draft-simulator 23. Terrion Arnold CB Alabama 52. T’Vondre Sweat DT Texas 85. Sedrick Van Pran OC Georgia 150. Jaheim Bell TE Florida State 153. Jordan Travis QB Florida State 191. Lathan Robinson S Ohio State 210. Kaden Prather WR Maryland 213. Omar Speights ILB LSU 216. Willie Drew CB Virginia State 218. Zion Nelson OT Miami(FL)

i like it. i mean i don’t know anything about the players you selected, but they hit all the positions that i think the rams should be looking to fill in the draft. maybe the one need i see missing is edge defender but maybe the rams get one in fa. but yeah. i was thinking defensive back, interior oline, defensive line, some depth for the receiver position. i like it.

I have a feeling the Rams may look to getting that Edge in Free Agency. The free agent market for Edge Rushers, may be the strongest we have ever seen. On top, if, I’m correct, we will have close to 65 million in cap space as well

I have been looking for it, and was wondering, if we can clinch a Wild Card spot, this Sunday? If there is, how can it be done, besides beating the Giants? What teams do we need to lose?

Check to see if I am right or wrong, I think we get in, after we 17, if,
    We beat the Giants
The Bears beat or tie Falcons
The Buccaneers beat or tie the Saints
    The Steelers beat the Seahawks
The Packers & Vikings somehow tie.

I know we beat Seattle(twice) and New Orleans, but we may have to deal with possibly 3 or 4 teams, in a tie breaker, as a possibility.

I like our chances, if we play the Lions on the road, then I do with going to Philly, Dallas, or SF. The Lions are not really that good defensively. I feel if we had to go to Dallas, Philadelphia, or San Fransisco, in the playoffs, we will get blown out.

I liked how hard we played for most of the game, but Washington scored two TDs in the 4th Quarter. We need to learn to close out games, in the final quarter. In other words, need to shutout teams in the 4th Quarter, and OT, if we have to go OT.

If somehow Dallas and Philly each lose the next three games, and the 9ers go 3-0, that game against us, will not mean a thing. Because the 9ers would have home field throughout the NFC. It makes me think, they will sit their main guys, after the first Quarter.

With the possibility of us having $60 Million in cap space. I still say we should go after either AJ Espenesa Edge Bills or Chase Young Edge 49ers, and Patrick Queen ILB Ravens. Plus, Edge and ILB are real strong, plus those three teams will have major cap issues. We get that Edge and ILB in free agency, then we can keep building the OLine, and get another DT(320+), CB & Safety.

As I always say, you can never go wrong with drafting OL, especially at LT & C.

I feel if we win our last 5 games, making the playoffs, would be great, but not a guarantee we make the playoffs. But, it will give us a chance. Winning 4 out of our last 5, we will need help, to make it into the playoffs. I’m going off, on what I see.

Not sure if this is clear in the discussion but the Rams have 4 games left, not 5. To me it looks like they get in if they win 3 of their last 4.

My bad. My brain is not there. There are 4 games. I do feel we need to win 4 straight. Winning 3 out of 4, we still will need some help. No guarantee.

you shouldn’t lose on a walk off punt return, but you can’t have delay of game penalty on your first possession in OT. BTW Any holding calls against the Raven’s OL today.? next week ..home game vs Commanders, Rams are in position of winning 4 of their last 5 games

Even if we win 4 of our last 5, their is no guaranteed, we make the playoffs. I feel we need to win 5 straight to get in. That also counts on the Packers and Vikings losing.
