I don’t know how soon Bailey will be effective. He has not practiced for two weeks. Might take awhile for him to get back into game condition. If he is back at practice today or tomorrow then he should be able to go pretty good this week.

    Damn, ok sad again.

Quick has suddenly become the real deal.

And he’s not even completely polished yet. He’s a better version of the same clumsy kid he was before. To me that means he hasn’t even finished evolving yet.

But very few guessed this was possible—> meaning, THIS: in 2 games, with 2 different qbs, he now has 14 catches for 178 yards. Projected across 16 games (which isn’t a promise, it’s just a way of measuring what he has done so far)…that’s 112 catches for 1424 yards.

    .

That would be something….WE might FINALLY have a 1000 yard guy

I hate that even though we have the same basic defense, it’s seems to get overhauled every year. There’s no reason why this team should be bad against the run NO REASON

I’ll bet you flexibility with G.Rob got more important once they saw Long in action.

There’s just not enough time to develop these guys in so many positions. They don’t get as much practice time as they used to.

I don’t know the logic behind having him learn more than one position as a freaking rookie. This completely goes against what they were doing in mini camp. I thought they were wise in mini camp….afterwords…..not so much

Chris Long is one of my favorite personalities on the Rams. This is such a bummer.

I still believe we can do a complete 180 turn around….but I am also perplexed at the lack of readiness of this team.

I don’t see how you can cut either Sam or Westbrook. There just is no telling how good these guys can be. What if we’ve found two hidden gems.

Long worries me the most. How long (no pun intended) before he gets Hill killed as well.

Yeah maybe….perhaps I should put more faith in the ‘Stache’. They were wise to bring Hill in….for this very reason.

I would say that we have reached the point of irreconcilable differences.

    An impasse.

    The unbridgeable gulf.

The point where one guy sees things one way and another sees it another way.

I say “tohm-ah-toh,” and you say “toledo.”

Or to quote Raising Arizon again–“there’s what’s right, and there’s what’s right, and never the twain shall meet”.

    LOL….fair enough

One more note. My fear is that so long the Rams keep Sam, they won’t make a hard move to get his replacement. Fisher doesn’t like to send mixed messages and he’s all about “Sam’s our guy”. AND he doesn’t want to undermine Sam. These issues vex me Zack…I am vexed.

Well, Amendola kept getting different injuries. How does the same injury getting re-injured mean Bradford is Amendola?

B/c he can’t stay on the field AND he HAS injured other things in his career hasn’t he????

No, I view it this way. Bradford had a freak moment and a re-tear. I don;t view that as the same.

In 2011 he injured the ankle, but then that year was so rough that every single Rams qb got injured. They picked Clemens up on waivers and he was playing a game 11 days later. And then…got injured. So to me 2011 was the situation.

Amendola has shown that every single year he goes out on the field, it will be something else. That was true of 2011, 2012 (with 2 injuries) and 2013.

My point is, he can’t stay on the field due to health. And I feel like if he did, he would have been great. Those two things are similar to Amendola.

Stick a fork in him……he’s done.

I wouldn’t have wanted to lose out on GR or Donald. Not with that bunch that was available.

I could have tried to be fairer to Long because I had never thought he was going to be ready for the regular season. I do believe he was put in a bad spot. My gut says the Rams think they’ve still got this franchise/Pro Bowl tackle when not only 2013, but 2012 even, should have told them different. It’s always felt to me like Long was being rushed back, which seems completely unnecessary when you have Saffold and you spent the #2 pick overall at tackle. I’ve been leery at times with those options, too, but Saffold or Robinson has to be preferable to a guy coming off a knee injury and who’s barely played.

The ease of Bradford’s re-injury makes you wonder if he came back too soon, doesn’t it? Everybody can’t be Adrian Peterson.

    –Mike

I agree completely. The non-recovered version of Long has never been good. He has to be completely healthy to be effective.

I think Fisher uses Pre-season the way some pitchers use the beginning of spring training.
Some pitchers are told to only use one pitch the entire time they are in a spring training game. For example, that pitcher will throw nothing but sliders for three innings, just to get his mechanics in, and sharpen his secondary pitch. I think that’s how fisher uses the first part of pre-season.
Donald going up against two guys all game is only going to make a guy like Donald better when he only has to go against one. The secondary having to cover Green bay’s receivers, being thrown by a probable future hall of famer, with no pressure whatsoever….. is a great way to get them to sharpen there skills and learn, learn, learn.

I am glad he’s doing these things, b/c they NEED IT. That secondary scares the crap out of me….however, at the same time, you can see the RAW talent. It’ll be good at some point, but man it actually got younger this year and that’s freaking hard to believe.

To be honest, they freak me out a lot.

I share these concerns. Game three I need to see something. If it takes two games for this defense to gel…..in this division, it’ll all be over

He’s a quick strike stealth bomber. He might touch the ball 5 times but he’ll still roll out 200 all purpose yards…..on some occasions anyway.

I do believe he will do damage as a receiver when they bring 8 guys up to stop Stacy and company.

Not sure what to make of Torry publically stating his opinion on a player like that. It’s not his usual style to be so specific. Doesn’t he help out in OTA’s or something?

I wonder if he’s indirectly trying to light a fire under Tavon’s ass. Or maybe he’s just being candid.

Gaines performance was a good omen for me. I still dont trust Jenkins and Tru.
