ParticipantI say we see since slump Goff. He’ll have a serviceable game, but not good enough to counteract the day Brees has. Somewhere around a 58% completion percentage, 200-250 yards passing, one TD, but two interceptions, or possibly one interception and one fumble.

ParticipantI think that if the Rams win it will not be because of an outstanding game by Goff it will because the defense and/or ST will have played well enough to get the Rams offense at least one extra possession. I see Goff as the same way as I saw Bulger. That’s not to say I think that they have the same physical traits or style. I think that, like Bulger, Goff is capable of putting up some good stats from time-to-time, but usually it’s going to be about him not doing anything stupid to give the game away. As long as Leonard Little or Aaron Donald gets a few sacks, or forces a turnover or two. Bulger/Goff can be depended on to throw a couple of beautiful passes to win help win. A nice onside kick by Wilkins, or a fake punt by Hekker might be needed to get an extra possession as well.

ParticipantWho is this guy? It’s the first time I’ve seen him. I watched bits and pieces of this video trying to figure out where in Canada lives. I liked his lecture on thermal underwear. It looks like he’s in eastern Ontario, but I can’t tell for sure.

ParticipantDoes anyone here remember, not too long ago, when the Rams were really bad for a really long time? Now they’re in he NFC Championship Game.

Rams will wear throwback uniforms Saturday against Cowboys, Rams announced.I enjoy seeing the Rams in the throwback jerseys, but I was hoping for the whites this weekend. That would have meant that the Cowboys would have had to wear their blue jerseys.
6. THE CURSE OF THE BLUE JERSEY
The Cowboys were the designated home team in Super Bowl V, which meant they had to wear blue (the rule since has been changed to allow the designated home team the choice of wearing white or colors). Dallas lost the game, and the legend of “the blue jersey curse” was born. In subsequent years, opposing teams periodically have worn white at home just to force Dallas to wear blue — most famously in the 1981 NFC championship game, when the Eagles wore white at Veterans Stadium and won, thereby cementing the blue jersey’s status as uni non grata.canadaram
ParticipantThose 300-yard passing games are important for NFL QBs, right? A QB needs to show he can win games with his arm. Except those 300-yard games are not an accurate barometer. There were 132 such games last season and QBs owning them posted a 64-66-2 record. Yep, a losing record.

ParticipantHappy New Year to all. May your favourite football team bring you much joy in the year(s) ahead.

ParticipantIt’s been exciting to see the run game over the last two weeks. I hope McVay remains committed to running the ball in their first playoff game. Since McVay and Kromer arrived, the Rams have had a good run blocking line. It seems like this offense can be a great run first offense if that’s what McVay wants. Goff still wasn’t great for much of yesterday’s game, but he still threw some nice passes when it counted. Loved what I saw from Noteboom. I’m still not a big fan of Ebukam. Hopefully the Rams can upgrade his position next year and he comes in as a backup in 2019. Not that I’m suggesting that Ebukam is the only reason the Rams defense gives up big plays.
Anywho, sweeping the Niners en route to a sweeping the division? I love it. My eyes are wide open about the Rams deficiencies, but the first two years of the McVay era have been dreamy. Bring on the playoffs.
canadaram
ParticipantI say rest him until the playoffs. Hopefully that’s in two weeks. If it’s next week then at least he’s had a couple of weeks off. It sounds like whatever he’s got going on is going to require offseason surgery.

ParticipantI hope that all you southerners enjoyed yourselves.

ParticipantThanks for the maps JM.
I would say that if the Rams can’t beat ARZ at this point than everything is much worse than we thought.
Agreed.
Part of me also feels as though the Rams are in a figurative no-win situation during the next two weeks. If they beat bottom dwellers like Arizona and San Francisco it doesn’t necessarily prove anything in terms of them being back on track. Although some positive signs would be nice (ie. how they win, how Goff looks under pressure etc.). If the Rams are playing starters as they fight for a first round bye and they lose, then I might start focusing more on the draft than their first playoff game.

ParticipantI predict a very close high scoring game.

ParticipantRoad game in the cold against a tough defense the week after clinching the division. Oh well. I did not expect a game plan that had Gurley running the ball only 11 times.
canadaram
ParticipantThe only way I can see the Rams winning this game is if the ST and/or defense score some points. Kind of like last year vs. the Jaguars.
canadaram
ParticipantI don’t expect this to be one of Goff’s better games.
canadaram
ParticipantDetroit’s defense has some real talent on the line and in the secondary and on top of that they looked prepared. Having said that Goff still made bad decisions, like throwing into triple overage on his first INT. Anyway, thanks to the football gods for giving the Rams Gurley and Donald. I hope Brown is ok, otherwise we may see Davis and/or Kelly suit up vs. the Bears on SNF.
Super excited that the Rams are division champs again. I’m going to soak that up all holiday season.

ParticipantI remember feeling pretty frustrated about the Rams TE situation after the playoff loss to Atlanta, but now I feel cautiously optimistic. Everett and Higbee have a real opportunity with Kupp’s injury.

ParticipantRams should win, but i think that it will be closer than most expect. I think wv’s difference of 8 pts is pretty reasonable, but I think the Rams eclipse 30 points. It wouldn’t surprise me to see the Lions get close to the 30 point level.
canadaram
ParticipantBTW, I’m glad zn brought up Wilkins. He was the first thing that I thought of when the idea of onside kicks was brought up. He was amazing at it. In fact, if I recall correctly he even recovered one of his own onside kicks in a comeback win over Houston in 2005.
canadaram
ParticipantI know getting rid of the kickoff has been suggested for a few years now, but I’d never really had a strong opinion about it. Recently having read some books about brain injuries I’ve started to feel that eliminating the kickoff is a good idea. I like the Schiano idea actually. This video is the first that I’ve heard of it. The narrator would prefer a 4th and ten scenario, but I’d prefer to stay with Schiano’S plan or even go to 4th and 20 because it seems like there is already an increase in scoring in today’s NFL. I don’t want even the slightest chance even more inflated scoring. Anyway, I liked that video.

ParticipantChicago in cold weather doesn’t seem like an ideal game for the Rams. I think the Bears win that game. I like the Rams chances in the other 4 games though.
canadaram
ParticipantThat was great. I especially loved Woods reaction to Ebukam’s second TD.
canadaram
ParticipantGood time for a bye week if you ask me.
canadaram
ParticipantI expected KC to flirt with the 50 point plateau, but I didn’t expect Ebukam to score two TDs. Great to win and even better to have ten wins before the end of November. Hopefully Talib is back and healthy on December 2 vs Detroit.
canadaram
ParticipantI love this team, but with this defense the Rams are not legit Super Bowl favourites. I think they will be hard pressed to keep the first week bye as the Bears look solid on both sides of the ball.
canadaram
ParticipantThe Rams can probably score 30 plus against KC, but I honestly would not be surprised to see KC approach the 50 point plateau. I don’t see a Rams win no matter how I look at this game.
November 13, 2018 at 5:49 pm in reply to: Rams vs KC will be moved from Mexico City to Los Angeles. #93858canadaram
ParticipantYay! Although I do feel badly for any fans who planned and paid for a trip around this game.
canadaram
ParticipantCan’t help but appreciate being 9-1 before the halfway point in November. I’ll never not appreciate a winning record. With only 6 games left the Rams only need one win for the division title. That amazes me. After sitting in the middle of a desert from 2005 to last year I’m still in awe of the Rams current succes.
canadaram
ParticipantDitto on all the horrible defense comments. I thought Ebukam looked especially bad at times, but there is plenty of blame to go around I’m sure. I don’t know how much of a difference Talib will make, but it will be great to get some help on defense. Good to see more and more from the TEs. So bummed about Kupp. I hope he’s back earlier rather than later next season. Go Reynolds.
