I am not giving up on the coaching. I think they are caught in a slow start, and I think the D let up after the Jenkins TD. But you can also see improvement in a lot of areas. Just a warning about me though–I tend not to let losses get to me.

Can I cut Cook and is Wells the next Finnegan?

I have a theory. I think that you had a large amount of young, talented players learn how to do something one way….and started doing it really well by the end of last season. Instead of making that “second year in the system” jump….they were asked to do it completely different this year. Essentially seems like they started over. I was afraid this might happen and I am really upset about it

I agree. Emotions were high and Cook was upset at himself. Doesn’t excuse taking it out on the QB who did nothing but place a beautiful throw right in his hands but, like I said, emotions were high. I mean, if teams start cutting every prima dona that acts like a prima dona, then football fields are going to look mighty empty on Sundays.

That could be the problem. It could be that the reason the Rams are still trying to learn a new defense three weeks into the season is because they didn’t really work on it enough in preseason. They were nothing but vanilla all through preseason games. They weren’t showing anything. They did that so they wouldn’t tip their hand I suppose but the downside is their defense isn’t sure of itself yet…THREE games into the season.

Well, #1, he knew damn well who it was. #2, we’ve seen Rams be frustrated at leaving plays on the field before. Not one of them since we began following the game took it out on a team mate on the sideline like that. In my own reaction to what Cook did, I agree with William Hayes.

I agree with what Hayes did too but I wouldn’t cut Cook over it.

First I wouldn;t cut him on principle.

BUt also…his contract forbids it. They lose a lot of cap space if they cut him.

This is Fisher’s 3rd year. I do not see any improvement. .

Jeff Fisher is floundering. And he can’t admit it. This is NOT the time to talk about improvement.

There is no improvement in the defense. None. They can’t even get anything out of our DL. And that loss was utterly unacceptable. If he had any bleeding honesty he’d admit it.

And by the way, his call to go for the 1 down the SECOND TIME was a massive fail. I knew it at the time. I thought, “We won’t get this a 2nd time and if we don’t we’ll lose the game.” Yep. Passing up a chance for a chip shot FG to extend a lead and slow down the team that has all but erased a 21 point lead? Ridiculous call.

This team is going to lose a lot of games this year. Again.

Unfortunately, Fisher will weasel enough games to get to mediocrity and blow a top draft pick.

You can’t just make that decision by looking at the distance.

It’s more involved–like the momentum in the game. You were losing it.

I thought that was just a bad decision at the time.

But, one way to respond to the momentum issue was to take it to them on 4th and 1 and go for the TD.

So can we drop the fire Fisher bullshit posts? Listen up Rams fans, your team was a bloody mess when Fisher and Snead came on board in 2012. They are doing the best they can to turn it around. There is nobody and I mean nobody who could come in and make this team an instant winner. They Rams have been going through a rebuild the last 3 years. There is no instant coffee in regards to becoming a legitimate contender in the NFL.

Anyone who has been around since Fisher took over knows there are aspects of this team’s game that have improved greatly and other parts that are starting to come around.

I say stay the course with Fisher. I don’t always agree with him but I’ve seen the improvement in this team.

Yes, I know the defense for reason unbeknownst to me is struggling mightly right now. But remember this is their 3rd DC in 3 years only because Greg Williams suspension in 2012. Now GW is here. lets give him some time.

I don’t see Fisher on the hotseat yet. I think he/his staff has to do something about the mental mistakes and penalties though. I know the Rams are a young team, but I need to see some improvement.

I think he’s doing a nice job and seems to be a playmaker. Of course it’s very early but I’d like to see more of him. It sounds like Fisher is going back to Hill so we’ll probably see him vs. Philly. Fisher has been pretty adamant that Hill is his guy but I wonder if the offense starts to stall if he’ll consider a switch. As you pointed out in another thread the Eagles can put up some points so the Rams will have their hands full trying to keep up.
