Some amazing post game stats…
Rams had 28 first downs to 10 for Cards.
Rams 13/19 on 3rd down 68%, 3/12 for Cards 25%.
Rams 425 net yards to 193 for Cards.
Rams 197 net yards rushing to 25 for Cards.
Rams had 6 penalties to 10 for Cards.
Rams 4-4 on FG’s to 0-1 for Cards.
Rams Red Zone efficiency was 3-6 for 50%, Cards we’re 0-1 for 0%.
Rams TOP was 39:01 to 20:59 for Cards.
Those are the highlights, but there were other areas of interest, too.
Goff sacked once, Card QB’s 3 times.
Hekker crushed it in punt competition 6 ways from Sunday.
Goff had 1 int (and it occurred because of an uncalled PI against Gurley), Card QB’s intercepted twice.
Tons of evidence of Ram dominance.

October 22, 2017 at 5:04 pm #76381InvaderRamModeratordonald and brockers looked great. jj led the team in tackles. ogletree was very disruptive i thought – not just rushing the passer but i think he broke up a couple passes. i think the defense is getting accustomed to phillips’ 3-4.

Need to show more consistency.
October 22, 2017 at 6:58 pm #76405InvaderRamModeratorThe Rams have scored 212 points in seven games.

Rams' defense this season…
First 14 quarters: 99 points allowed
(Then halftime at Dallas…)
Last 14 quarters: 39 points allowed.— Rich Hammond (@Rich_Hammond) October 22, 2017
Jared Goff thru 7 games last year: 26 sacks.
Jared Goff thru 7 games this year: 10 sacks.

Todd Gurley yards before first contact, thru 7 games this year: 374.
Todd Gurley yards before first contact, thru 16 games last year: 442.

Todd Gurley and the @RamsNFL OL snap the Cards 19-game streak without allowing a 100-yard rusher. #LARams have a season-high rushing total.

October 22, 2017 at 10:27 pm #76422PA RamParticipantI gotta tell you Yanks, I am just chuffed about the whole affair. I had the collywobbles before the match but I had to crease up as the game wore on. It was a smashing display buy the Rams that left me a wee bit knackered.
Great job!
5-2. Loving it.

October 24, 2017 at 8:47 am #76476wvParticipantI watched it on replay last night. Run Defense, and Run offense were good.
The Rams OLine just gouged holes in Arizona’s D all…night…long. I’m still not used to seeing it. Holes. I keep thinking “someone on defense must have fallen down, or something” — but no — the Rams have a powerful OLine. …did i just write that? That cant be right.
The game woulda been a lot closer if Carson had stayed in it, but i remember a time the rams couldnt beat back-up QBs.
Hekker and legatron have to be the best combo in the NFL this year.

vOctober 24, 2017 at 9:24 am #76479ZooeyModeratorI re-watched the first half last night because I couldn’t give my game my full attention on Sunday – had it on in the background, sort of. And it reinforced my impression that the game should have been more lopsided than it was. The Rams should have scored at least one more TD instead of a FG in the first half. They could have had two. It seems to me it was sheer greenery that made them come up short. I think in another year – if the OL stays at this level – the Rams will finish more drives.
I know they are scoring on a high % of their drives, but I bet their % of TDs once inside the Red Zone isn’t top ten.
Anyway, I look forward to the Rams getting even better on offense.
The defense flipped a switch. Don’t know that I’ve ever seen anything like it. We all saw it. Since half time at Dallas, this team has stifled the other team. 3 1/2 games.
Right now, they are hitting in all three phases of the game, and the offense is going to get better.
We have a team now.

I dont disagree with any of that, but the Defense looked good against Bortles and Arizona, and Seattle. I dunno what they’ll look like when the high-octane offenses show up. Like New Orleans, etc.
Still, i agree with what you said. And yes, what spawns the smiles is the fact that we know this offense hasnt gelled yet. Young QB, new TEs and WRs and blockers. AND cap space in the future.
Itz like walkin on sunshine

They won’t look as good.
And everyone will be concerned that they aren’t as good as we think they are.
That’s what will happen.

I guess thats true. And i guess that means they dont have an ‘elite’ defense that can shut down great offenses, but they have a ‘good’ defense that can generally play well and be a top twelve defense.
Its only a franchise defense, not an elite defense.

There’s no way to tell until we actually play a great offense.

Dallas is 6th on offense.
Jax is 10th.
So they have played 2 top 10 offenses so far, fwiw

Blinkscout Game 7 in London … Cardinals …
Honestly it’s harder to do these when we’re winning … I have no idea why. Feels foreign.
Now to be fair, there wasn’t much hope after Carson left. Also, seriously, how many times have we injured Carson Palmer?
The Great
1) Brockers. I haven’t had him this high, and I think this was his best game. Honestly, he and Donald are both playing like pro bowlers.
2) Barron being sure handed …
3) Turning the game off before it’s over … for a GOOD reason.
4) Run blocking. I can’t believe we are playing with any of the players we had last year.
5) AP 11 for 21? WOW.
The Good
6) Blythe coming in and not missing a beat. If he can play, we’ll save ourselves a freaking draft pick next year.
7) Getting Sammy some touches.
8) Robert Woods being Mr. dependable.
9) Gurley’s TDs are always highlight reel plays … seriously compiling just the TDs would be a great watch.
10) Kavon Webster has been steadily making plays. He’s not a #1 … but he’s likely a solid 2.
11) JJ3 with another solid game.
12) Quinn with a smart amount of high quality reps.
13) The announcers even mentioned how well Smart is playing.
14) I think we’ve found our Punt Returner.
15) Appropriate use of Tavon, albeit for wayyyyy overpaying.
16) Shutouts are always impressive.
The Bad
17) Kupp’s jitters. I know he’ll get himself calmed down … but I’d hate to lose another game because he’s shaky.
18) Goff and Sammy still not quite together on deep balls … hopefully they get that dealt with this week.
19) Goff still seems to be locking on to a target every 3-4 passes … and missing open guys while passing to someone covered.
