I wonder if it is time for Pharaoh Cooper to take over return duties from Tavon Austin. I mean let Tavon be just a WR, while the kid learns as the return guy. What do you think?

I’d rather have Austin back there and have Cooper learn to be a receiver.

You have to be odd, to be number one.

I noticed Cooper replaced Austin for NY’s last punt…..

Tavon once again signaled fair catch inside the 10 yesterday…. I’ve had it with him.

Tavon Austin has been very disappointing, he’s no where close to Ron Brown, Henry Ellard, or Az on special teams… Frankly he sucks.

    I forgot one… Tony Horne….

TH was something else. Sure miss him.

The upside to being a Rams fan is heartbreak.

I was getting frustrated with TA fair catching at the 10 also…then I noticed a couple of other teams doing the same. I started thinking maybe that’s a new school way of thinking because the way the punters now can impart backspin to kill the ball.

I’m not sure if I’m on the right track or not but that’s what I’m mulling over right now.

Now I also saw him fair catch it at the 5…grrrr no excuse for that one IMO.

Still, I’m with X on this one I would rather have TA returning punts and Cooper learning his routes and helping from time to time rather than adding the extra duties.

I kinda think this Cooper love I’ve been reading about is like the love for the back-up QB…I don’t get it. I don’t think Cooper is as dynamic as TA and at the end of their careers TA is gonna have the better of it….and all that is just my opinion and I’m a known TA lover..so

I think that I don’t think Tavon is a receiver. He’s a multi-faceted offensive weapon who can catch passes. But he’s not a pure receiver. When I see him, there’s something he’s missing as a receiver, even though he added more routes to his “can do it” list this year. I liked last year better when he had as many runs as catches and also served as a very effective decoy. The gains he made this year in the receiver role, I would rather see those added to what he was last year instead of going forward with him playing more of a pure receiver role as he has been this year. I like Austin as a PR because teams live in fear of him returning one. He’s always a step or 2 away from breaking it.

Until Cooper shows me something, he’s a rookie and not this big promise.
