Just on the radio in a press conference:
Injury rate in the NFL is 100 percent. Talked about other ACL injuries, including Brady.
If Sam hadn’t torn his ACL they would never been able to trade for him.
Is not trading for Mariotta.
Everything is a one year season for everyone. Believes Bradford has tremendous upside. Macklin came off two ACLs had 85 catches. Talked to doctor–feels good. Big strong, physical QB. One of the most accurate QBs. Had inside info from Shurmer. He’s smart. Competitor. Concerned about everyone’s injuries. But they would not be available otherwise.
WAS OFFERED A FIRST ROUND PICK FOR BRADFORD THIS MORNING.
Other teams were interested in Bradford.

March 11, 2015 at 1:46 pm #20042PA RamParticipantBoth he and Fisher talked to Nick and Sam before the deal came out–unlike the McCoy deal which got spilled before he talked to Lesean.
Won’t mortgage future for any player(packaging picks)—(getting hammered about Mariota)
They didn’t consider trading Sam. Not brought in to be a chip.
Looked at every throw Sam made since he’s been in NFL. Everyone a byproduct of what’s around you. Assessing individual players. If receivers drop balls whose fault is it? Stats don’t tell everything. How are his drops, how does he work? Shurmer with good info. Liked what he saw. (Sort of a nice way of saying Sam did not have anything around him to help).
Not what he didn’t see in Foles. But had to give up outstanding QB, great teammate, player–to get something.

If Kelly was offered a 1st for Bradford, my guess is it has Browns written all over it. And if Kelly wanted Mariota he’d have taken it…"Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. " Philip K. Dick
March 11, 2015 at 1:59 pm #20048PA RamParticipantJust a thought I wanted to toss out before I go.
Chip Kelly is bringing in a lot of injured players. He doesn’t seem to worry about that. He apparently has some “sports science” program he believes in that is supposed to help injured players. I’m not quite sure what it is. But he certainly doesn’t worry about injured players. He looks at it more as an opportunity.
Interesting.
Also–a lot of teams–even with his contract and injuries seem to value Bradford.
Hopefully this all works out.

March 11, 2015 at 2:56 pm #20063DakParticipantThis offseason proves that Bradford is valued by a number of NFL franchises, but not a lot of fans, nor a lot of pundits. If Bradford can avoid injuries, this trade would look like a steal for Philly.

It’s possible it could look like a steal.
In any event, I always thought fans were hard on Bradford, and that his worst critics looked at the wrong things (or to be more exact, didn’t look at the right things).
But the trade could also work for the Rams too. It’s nowhere near as one-sided as the RG3 trade.

I just think that the best the Rams can hope for is a place-holder starting QB. I really believe that Foles’ 2013 season is an outlier. I don’t see this as a trade that will hamstring the Rams’ organization, as the RGIII trade did for Washington, but I also don’t see a lot of upside.

he may elevate them 🙂w
