from Albert Breer, NFL Mailbag: https://www.si.com/nfl/nfl/nfl-mailbag-rams-nfc-west-favorite

From Big Nasty_00 (@BigNasty_00): Who are the favorites in the NFC West? Will Ramsey be a Ram again?

BREER: Nasty, I think the Los Angeles Rams are the favorite to repeat, but I do believe all four teams are in the mix to win the division. The San Francisco 49ers haven’t been as depleted as you’ve been led to believe—yes, a few foundational pieces are gone, but San Francisco survived these sorts of things before. The Seattle Seahawks are really interesting, coming off a 10-win season in Year 1 for Mike Macdonald. And, then, there’s a steadily rising team in Arizona ready to take another step.

That said, L.A. pulled off the impressive feat of flipping an aging roster into a promising young team. Aaron Donald, Cooper Kupp, Andrew Whitworth and Jalen Ramsey are gone, and the Rams are now leaning on guys such as Puka Nacua, Kyren Williams, Jared Verse, Kobie Turner, Byron Young, Braden Fiske and Kam Kinchens to be the new foundation.

All of those guys, on paper at least, should keep getting better. The Rams should, too, after pushing the Philadelphia Eagles in the divisional round last year.

pass rush did eleveate coverage on 3rd and long…few, ifany teams better, in that siutaiton

Have to get better every otherdown and distance, vs run and pass.

If Rams could stop the run and get teams in 3rd and long more then … lights out

    Tyler Higbee, Los Angeles Rams

Higbee could be on his way out in a contract year after the Rams selected Oregon’s Terrance Ferguson in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft. He is coming off an injury-shortened 2024 season but has been productive when healthy. His 79.1 PFF receiving grade in 2024 shows he has good play left in the tank, but at 32 years old, his prime is behind him.

    And Kyren Williams, possibly.

Good. Cut the dead wood. It’s not like they’re Billy Bajema and Zac Stacy.

It will be interesting to what they do. If Hunter is good, then Williams is probably gone. If Hunter is slow to get up to speed, then the Rams will have to talk about an extension, and I don’t know what that looks like nowadays. RBs have slipped in prominence, and the Rams got burned on Gurley. Williams is young, though, and pretty good.

from PFF Offensive Tackle Rankings: Top 32 ahead of the 2025 NFL season: https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-offensive-tackle-rankings-top-32-ahead-of-2025-nfl-season

    19. Alaric Jackson, Los Angeles Rams
Despite missing the first two games of the season due to a suspension, Jackson broke out in a contract year. And the Rams rewarded him with a new contract.

After earning PFF overall grades of 64.1 and 66.6 in the previous two seasons and ranking outside the top 30 in both years, Jackson finished the 2024 campaign with an 18th-ranked 78.4 PFF overall grade. His 4.5% pressure rate allowed was also a career high and ranked 18th at the position.

    28. Rob Havenstein, Los Angeles Rams
The 33-year-old Havenstein’s best years are probably behind him. Despite earning an 80.0-plus PFF overall grade in three out of four seasons between 2018 and 2021, the Wisconsin product has failed to reach that threshold since.

In 2024, he recorded a 75.8 PFF overall grade — his second-lowest mark over the past five seasons and the 25th-ranked figure among offensive tackles. Havenstein remains among the better run-blocking offensive tackles after posting a 79.6 PFF run-blocking grade in 2024 to rank 13th among offensive tackles.

    As per the previous post

from PFF Running Back Rankings: Top 32 ahead of the 2025 NFL season https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-running-back-rankings-top-32-ahead-of-2025-nfl-season?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=dhtwitter&utm_content=null

    10. KYREN WILLIAMS, LOS ANGELES RAMS
Williams’ 2024 PFF rushing grade (74.3) wasn’t all that impressive, but he rushed for more than 1,400 yards and generated the fourth-highest PFF WAR figure among running backs, helped by having seven games where he earned a PFF pass-blocking grade above 80.0.

NFL analyst Warren Sharp calculated each team’s percentage of incompletions caused by the receiver, which he categorized as “receiver drops, lost control at the ground, didn’t get both feet inbounds but should have, fell down, etc.” The Rams ranked No. 30 among all NFL teams.

Felt good to be back out there with the fellas at @RamsNFL OTAs.

There’s something about being on that field—seeing the work, the bond, the grind—that hits different. Reminds you why you fell in love with this game in the first place. “Chasing something bigger than all of us—while becoming the best version of yourself along the way!”

    “We then me!!”

The standard is being built every rep.

My guess is that the Rams were targeting Colston Loveland with the Panthers’ pick.

Look at who was drafted in the next 10 picks, and of all those guys,…it’s Loveland.
