    Todd Gurley has thigh bruise, uncertain for Sunday

    If Todd Gurley can’t play for #Rams on Sunday (he was a DNP today with a quad) Malcolm Brown would start in his place. Sean McVay did hint that rookie Darrell Henderson’s long-awaited inclusion into the game could possibly happen this week, too.

    Rams HC Sean McVay said RB Todd Gurley did not practice today because of a thigh bruise. CB Aqib Talib did not practice because of a rib injury.

    “After the game, you think it’s your typical bumps and bruises and then it ends up being a little bit more than that,” McVay said.

    Rams DC Wade Phillips said if CB Aqib Talib (ribs) can’t play on Sunday, Troy Hill would step into his role.

    Sean McVay says there really isn’t an update to the status of the Rams’ injured players since the gusty weather have forced the Rams to cancel practice. So no update on Gurley, Cooks, ect. “They’re hopefully a day better”

    Anyone know about the rules for practice squad call-ups? Is there a preset time delay required? Or can the Rams make instant moves, etc.?

    Patrick is apparently day to day now, and he was expected to help out while Matthews is down. It sounds like they’re pretty thin at linebacker now. Ebukan, Fowler and Obo are about it for the outside, right?

    The loss of Talib won’t help, either, though I don’t think he’s the player he once was. They still need him.

    Rams RB Todd Gurley and CB Aqib Talib were not on the field during the portion of today’s practice open to the media. We’ll likely get an update from HC Sean McVay following the conclusion of practice this afternoon.

    Sean McVay said Todd Gurley is doubtful and Aqib Talib is out vs. 49ers this weekend.

    “Doubtful” basically means “out.” In 2017, 4 of 161 players listed as doubtful ended up playing. In 2016, 8 of 207 did

    Out — FB Kyle Juszczyk (knee), T Mike McGlinchey (knee), T Joe Staley (fibula), CB Ahkello Witherspoon (foot).

    Questionable — TE George Kittle (groin).

    Shanahan said he expects Kittle to play.
