Seahawks fired OC Brian Schottenheimer. His offense set a number of Seahawks’ records. But after meeting last night, it was evident there were philosophical differences between Schottenheimer and HC Pete Carroll. They decided a parting was in the best interests of both sides.

Floyd was a high end pick who hadn’t lived up to his billing. In this scheme and under this staff he finally did. Now he’s grown into a monster.

Fowler was a plus blindside edge rusher for us. Floyd has been elite. He is a difference maker in the run game and moves all over and gets consistent pressure now in the passing game too. He’s also rangy and routinely drops and covers in the flats with good result. You’re talking about an all-around stud here.

Problem of course is what we’re seeing on film is something teams are willing to pay big bucks for. But it’s also something we probably won’t find on the cheap again. We might hit on a one year rental again but not like we just did with Floyd. This season he’s having is special he has given us a third difference maker on that side of the ball. With him and Williams we basically have 4 guys who you know are going to make 3 to 5 plays a game and that starts adding up quick which is why our defense has been so potent.

Getting many Goff/McVay questions today, and it’s not sexy but my *opinion* is this: JG said outright that he was not thrilled he didn’t start, which is his right as a competitor, and SM said he made the decision based on functionality of thumb, which is his right as a coach.

Now, has there been frustration this year in spurts (even in rare public comment, as we saw and covered)? Yep, that has been documented. I just hesitate to draw any sweeping conclusions from moments that are parts to a whole relationship, between 2 people who don’t agitate easy.

Pick a player to start a franchise with:
    🔹 Aaron Donald
    🔹 Davante Adams
    🔹 Jalen Ramsey
    🔹 Jaire Alexander

I want the Rams to cheat and pick 2 players.

i just wonder though why it took something like this for some people to realize how horrible trump is.

By “something like this” I assume you mean the attack on the Capitol.

I figure some people were perfectly fine with how horrible he was because it suited them and they liked what he was doing.

For some of those, the Capitol attack went too far.

People only know the big names on the defense (Ramsey, Donald, etc), but this defense has developed some seriously strong lowkey stud talent (Dee Will, SJD, Floyd, Troy, JJ3) and then have the role players that play well to boot (A’Shawn, Gaines, Fuller, Fox).

Jalen Ramsey has faced the top three targeted receivers this season, including DHop twice, and still only averaged about 3 targets per game. All three of them had their fewest targets in a game vs. the Rams.

Adams and Rogers is a challenge, but Ramsey can handle it.

The Packers finished the regular season with the NFL’s No. 1 scoring offense at 31.8 points per game.

The Rams finished with the No. 1 scoring defense, allowing 18.5 points per game.

At least two Capitol Police officers have been SUSPENDED, per @RepTimRyan, the House appropriator who oversees Capitol Police funding.

Of the two suspended officers, one took the now infamous selfie and the other wore a MAGA hat while directing rioters.

Incredible toughness from Goff and entire Rams team. Great team win. Great job by Sean McVay. And Les Snead’s fingerprints all over this win. Also Les has great hair. I spend 29 bucks a tin on the Sumotech hair clay. Les told me he spends more. Obviously.

One huge note: The Packers lost LT David Bakhtiari last week to a torn ACL. Super unfortunate, but that shakeup on the OL could loom large vs. the Rams’ front-7 and their propensity to use some of the wildest and more creative stunts/blitzes I’ve seen.

    Packers run defense

The running game will be as critical as it was vs. Seattle.

Packers are allowing 4.5 YPC (21st this year, improved from 27th in 2019). They gave up 100+ rushing yards in 11 of 16 games (150+ three times). Football Outsiders https://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/nfl/team-defense/2020 rated their run defense 18th overall

    Also, Staley knows Rodgers

In Chicago and then Denver Staley faced Rodgers 4 times (Rodgers missed one GB vs. CHI). Green Bay won 3 of 4 games, averaging 25.8 PPG in them.

    Rodgers’ numbers:
    80/127 (63%), 974 yards, 8 TD, 1 INT, QB Rating 104.3, sacked 9 times
