znModeratorTodd Gurley vs The Philadelphia Eagles 2017. One of @TG3II most exciting games with 135 yards and 2 TDs. Gurley had amazing balance for a bigger runner. The true MVP of 2017, if you ask me. And look at @Rodger_Saffold mauling players on the move! Love the effort even in defeat pic.twitter.com/4QtpBIT2SF

znModeratorJourdan Rodrigue@JourdanRodrigueOh this is great. Les Snead says the Rams draft group has a “Bobby Wagner Rule” after overthinking where he would drop over a decade ago and missing him (and then seeing him in the division for “too many years”). Essentially: Don’t worry about where player *should* fall if you
znModeratorJohn Randle played for 14 seasons. Sapp played for 13 seasons. Alan Page played for 15 seasons. Steve McMichael, the great DT on the old 85 Chicago defense, played for 15 seasons. Randy White played for 14 seasons.
2022 will be Donald’s 9th season. So 4 or 5 more years sounds possible.
znModeratorJourdan Rodrigue@JourdanRodrigueMy understanding of Wagner contract: Essentially two years, $17.5 million ($6.5 million cash in year one) with $10 million in total guarantees and up to $23.5 million in various incentives; both parties may mutually renegotiate after 1st two years of “functional” contract..Ian Rapoport@RapSheet.Stu Jackson@StuJRamsRams GM Les Snead said he sat with head coach Sean McVay, defensive coordinator Raheem Morris and the rest of the defensive staff to figure out schematically how they could use both Ernest Jones and Bobby Wagner.
znModeratorWe know Stafford throws picks, but i wonder why the 4th quarter is usually different?
I don’t think anyone really knows yet. Some people just focus when the game’s on the line. But this is unusual. We have seen clutch qb play before but who throws a no-look pass in the final, “must win now” drive of a superbowl?
We do have a long great history of great clutch wins. Warner to Proehl then Warner to Bruce. Bulger had a few comeback wins (at one point he had the highest percentage of wins in that situation of any qb). Goff in New Orleans. Stafford had 3 in a row culminating in the super bowl.

znModeratorfrom NFL 2022 QB Gravitron: What advanced metrics say about Joe Burrow, Justin Herbert, Patrick Mahomes and others
Forget any of the numbers — Stafford will live in Rams royalty. That said, the numbers were pretty good in 2021. Stafford’s 0.17 EPA ranked third in 2021 behind only Rodgers and Mahomes. But Stafford did throw 17 interceptions last season, which pushed his 2021 IQR down to 102.3, his lowest in the last three seasons. The Rams are in great shape with Stafford, though.

znModeratorhe addresses the greatest Rams defensive weakness, one we’ve seen for a couple of years and which is always demoralizing to watch when it happens. The run D and exploitation of short passing to the middle. With Wagner (on paper anyway) we will see fewer long drives against the Rams. You know how those look…demoralizing, frustrating drives that last all day. Wagner fixes that.
== Do we have to go all the way back to London Fletcher to find a Ram Middle Linebacker that brings what BW does? w v
Probably. But I think BW has more than Fletcher did, and I liked Fletcher a lot.
znModeratorI would have preferred Clowney to Wagner.
if i had my choice, ida preferred the rams bring miller back.
I think you guys are underestimating what Wagner does for the defense. I personally like the unstoppable pass rush style of D, but I don’t dismiss what Wagner adds. znModeratorLosing Von Miller is significant, of course. I dont think you replace a Von Miller.
Losing Miller means losing one kind of top defense. Getting Wagner means getting a different kind of top defense.
To be honest, if it were all up to me, I would prefer the Miller type of top defense. Impossible to block in the passing game.
But I do acknowledge that the Wagner type of top defense is a good thing in its own right too. Hard to sustain long drives against it.

.CLEVELAND, Ohio — The 2022 NFL Draft is only a few months away as the Browns and the rest of the NFL will try to find the next great young players for their teams. This year’s draft, like all others, has positions that are incredibly deep and have top-end talent. It also has positions that are lacking one or both of those things.
In the first weeks of February, I went through all 11 position groups and ranked them all. I introduced the top-five players at every position and when they might be taken in this year’s draft.
