    Carberry leaving is a mild surprise. Given the injuries to the OL, not sure how much of the overall performance can be pinned on him. Tough business. Curious if it has more to do with changes McVay wants to make in the run game.

    If Frank Reich does not land a HC job, he is an obvious candidate for the @Chargers OC, and that’s been speculated in past month or so. He’s been with @Chargers previously, he would bring head coach experience to staff and his integrity is unquestioned.

    Reich was a name I heard for Rams when there was uncertainty whether McVay would be back. It would certainly be interesting if McVay got bullish on the idea of a LaFleur hire and Reich ended up with the Chargers. But, it makes sense w/ playcalling available to a LAC OC.

    I have a novel idea: When your offensive line is crap-tastic due to injuries and retirements, maybe you don’t blame the pocket QB, the RBs, or the OC. Maybe you don’t fire the OC. Maybe you just acknowledge the injuries and move forward.

     I find this interesting… so u all never went in at halftime (so to speak) or made an adjustment on the sideline mid-game to do something different? We added plays! Adjusted how we would block something! Pulled out plays we had used in the past! Talked about a different approach!

    I can only speak to what we did upfront but I can’t recall adding a run play at halftime. But don’t you make those adjustments all throughout the game? I also think his broader point is what I’ve said for years which is halftime adjustments are overblown in how it’s discussed

    I remember we needed to change a code word (or add one) for an outside zone once. The opponent had figured it out. So we just did it in between series. Everyone communicated on the headset and we rolled. Took 30 seconds.

    Leave it to the Chargers to blow a 27-0 lead in the playoffs after winning the turnover margin +5. Brandon Staley will have A LOT of questions to answer after that one. Defense had a 27 point cushion – 10 heading into the fourth quarter.

    I’m not used to watching these games on my couch this time of year and have been yelling about officiating. It apparently freaks out my dog, so immediately after screaming “YOU IDIOT” etc. I give him a treat and whisper, “not you, you’re perfect.” Unclear what habits are forming.

    Yes. I followed some leads and have his obituay.

    We know he had been hospitalized a couple of times leading up to his break in posting. He was hospitalized for some very serious things. That year he was in evcry game chat that he could get to, and then during the playoffs, he was nowhere to be found. He was a very private guy who lived alone, and I had no outside contacts for  him, though I did have some leads. I assumed he passed back in January.  Recently I dug up the leads and found this:

    WARREN STOCK OBITUARY

    Warren “Kool Rider” Stock, 71, New Haven, passed away Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022.

    Warren, son of the late Raymond Stock and wife Helen, nee Edson, was born March 21, 1950, in Washington. He received his education from New Haven High School and the University of Missouri-Columbia.

    Warren worked for Union Pacific Railroad for many years until retirement. He loved reading, computers and cooking delicious food. As a young man, he excelled at softball and billiards. He especially enjoyed his cats and was an avid Rams football fan, even after they moved away from St. Louis.

    Among his survivors are his brother, Gary Stock and wife Joan, Washington; his sister, Betty Stock, New Haven; nieces, Sarah Deckert and husband Chris, Wildwood, Mary Kleekamp and husband Phillip, Washington; great-nieces and -nephews, Matthew Deckert, Claire Deckert, Julia Deckert, Jack Kleekamp, Lily Kleekamp and Anna Kleekamp; other relatives and friends.

    He was preceded in death by his parents.

    Visitation was held Tuesday, Feb. 1, from 1-3 p.m. at Memorial Baptist Church, New Haven, with a memorial service following at 3 p.m.

    In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Memorial Baptist Church or a charity of donor’s choice.

    Arrangements were in care of Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home, Washington.</p>

    The veteran players will tell, explain & emphasize to the Rookies that the #wildcardweekend games are indeed very different. But it’ll ONLY be after the game when the rookie will fully understand what just happened and what exactly those DIFFERENCES are!
