December 19, 2014 at 8:11 am in reply to: Throwback Thursday Flipper Anderson catches winning TD vs Giants in the playoff #14197GreatRamNTheSkyParticipant
Yah the following week as I recall the Rams had six starters out on defense. Tough to win any game with those kind of numbers.

GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantWow another delusional rube. welcome aboard BNW. You really think Stan or the league would prefer to stay in the 21st rated media market, St. Louis compared to the Number 2 media market in LA. And then you say Stan cares about the best return?
Damn right he does and that is LA.You guys can’t even fill the Ed with there tickets on Stubhub selling for 8, 10, and 11 dollars. Talk about pathetic.
BTW BNW LA was not abandoned your city stole the Rams. So, I am suppose to feel sorry because they have been there for nearly 20 years and now you’re losing them? Hey! Listen up! They were in LA for 50 years! When they were stolen I had been a fan for nearly 30 years at the time! You get no sympathy from me.Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantHarbaugh doesn’t even have to recruit. All he has to do is have someone on his staff who is a good recruiter. I would think with his record at University of San Diego, Stanford and the 49ers and his history as a pro QB and that he played for Schembechler at Michigan would pretty much sell it self to any kid.

GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantFrom 1973 until the late 1980s the Rams were able to get good players through the draft and they did not always have real high picks in the 1st round.
Back in the day in the early 1960s keep in mind that Deacon Jones, perhaps the greatest pass rushing defensive end to play the game was taken in the very late rounds near the end of the draft.

GreatRamNTheSkyParticipant48 million seems kind of light. What is Urban Meyer getting from Ohio State?
Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantSt Louis fans are so anti-Rams that they will not even buy a fucking 8.00 ticket off stub hub to go see a pro football game?
They don’t fucking deserve a franchise.Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantWell, C’mon, Grits…
All you have to do is go through the history of why LA doesn’t have a team… and Houston DOES…and Jacksonville DOES… and how the Coliseum Commission has killed plans rather than not be the center of power in any negotiaions…yadda, yadda, yadda…
It’s pretty EASY to be pessimistic.
Or you could be a Koolaid drinker like Fat Bernie Miklasz.
Least valued franchise in the NFL per Forbes. Think Kroenke likes that?
Makes the least amount of profit in the league. Think Kroenke likes that?
Next to last in average attendance at home games. Think Kroenke likes that?
Kroenke has the land and he has the cash to make it happen in LA. I hear all this bullshit talk about Peacock but don’t you think just for one second that maybe, just maybe Kroenke has been working his own plan for the past three years? Do we really believe that Kroenke doesn’t know how to sell a plan if he wants it bad enough?
How the hell can you honestly say that staying St Louis is preferable to owning an NFL franchise in the 2nd largest media market in the nation?
Please.

GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantSam Farmer is a negative reporter. I’ve been talking to Farmer for three years now and at the start of this whole thing is opinion was nobody was coming and if they did they would be rebranded under a new name and colors etc. Farmer leans toward the pessimistic. Hard to take anything he says seriously.

GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantIf your around: looks like no one including the Rams are coming back here any time soon.
Reason the Chargers are staying put is as follows Waterfield. Their decision has nothing to do with the Rams.
San Diego situation: The following from ESPN article, ” JMI Reality, the development company responsible for the San Diego Padres’ Petco Park, has proposed building a $1.4 billion multipurpose facility with a retractable roof that would house a new football stadium for the Chargers, along with planned expansion of the convention center that would include an exhibition hall below the football field, and a meeting room and ballroom space in an attached building, with views of the field and bay.
However, the Chargers have not built consensus on the proposal with local business and community leaders. If consensus on a proposal is met, a possible vote on the project could appear in front of voters on a countywide ballot as early as the general election in November 2016.
The proposal would need a two-thirds majority vote in order to use hotel tax money as a funding source for the project. That funding source has been contemplated for use on the convention center expansion.
San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer has indicated his willingness to work with the Chargers on a stadium solution, as long as taxpayers are protected.
“We have to get this done,” Faulconer said in an interview with local radio station The Mighty 1090. “It’s too important to us as a city. And it’s not just the city, it’s in fact the entire San Diego region. The Chargers are extremely important to San Diego. The Chargers belong in San Diego.
“We have a facility that is outdated, and that’s just the facts. I’ve been on the job for eight months now, and I’ve said we have to call the question. We have to get this done. And we have to bring everybody to the table to solve this once and for all. And I’m committed to doing that.””
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantOver the last three games the Rams have not allowed a Touchdown. If you take the 12 points the Cardinals scored last Thursday then the Rams defense has allowed less than 6 points a game for the last three. In sports it is what have you done for me lately and lately the Rams defense has jelled and has been terrific.

December 16, 2014 at 11:06 am in reply to: How good is Shaun Hill? Hill after the last 5 games #13966GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantI think Hill sucks. He has a tendency to make the big mistake. Perfect examples is the end of the Chargers game and the last drive in the Cardinals game last Thursday. Hill absolutely cost the Rams a win over the Cardinals last Thursday with his horrible inaccurate passing. Little things a veteran does? Really? What a bunch of crap. Throw accurrate passes and make good decisions. Neither of which I saw from Hill last Thursday.

GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantSame stuff Thomas has been saying for over a year. Hope he doesn’t poop his pants when the Rams announce in February they are moving.
Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantThey could make a deal with the Eagles for either Foles or Sanchez.
Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantThe Rams cannot roll into next season with Bradford as the only legitimate starting QB on the roster.

December 15, 2014 at 11:05 am in reply to: What's your "bet"? (feeling) (analysis)–Rams beat Giants? #13917GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantI personally would rather lose the Giants game and win the Seahawks game.
Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantAgreed, the QB position is holding this team back. If Sam could stay healthy, might be a different story.
I would have to think they need to consider obtaining a veteran QB who they can start and win with. I can’t see the Eagles keeping both Sanchez and Foles.Grits
December 15, 2014 at 11:00 am in reply to: qbs who have started for the Rams since the 1995 move #13912GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantI think the more telling is QBs who have started a game or at least played for a the Rams in a game since Bulger was the Rams QB.
Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantWe are more than just a QB away from being a winner. We need to improve the OL to have any hope of making the playoffs next year. Wells and David stink.
I’m sorry but I believe and so do many others believe that the one big difference in this team is the Quarterback positions keeping it from truly being a contender. The offensive line is not great and I assume that will be addressed but this team has not had great QB play since the hey day of Kurt Warner. That has been far too long and this should be a priority with this organization. Too assume that Bradford is the answer is really short sighted on the part of the Rams when it seems Bradford’s lack of health has been a huge part of the problem.

December 12, 2014 at 11:01 am in reply to: Fisher, Hill, Mason, Long, Laurinaitis …post-game 12/11 … transcripts #13718GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantNew QB and new offensive Coordinator.
Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantIf you could get a Sanchez or Foles I’d kick Bradford to the curb. He’s only proven he’s a china doll and gets hurt all the time.
Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantI think the Rams should be talking to the Eagles. They have three potential starting QBs on their roster.
I cannot see either Sanchez or Foles being happy with being on the bench after having been starters. I don’t care what the national outlook is on Sanchez, he’s better than what the Rams have right now and better than most of the veteran QB options out there. If the Rams had Sanchez last night they would have beaten the Cardinals. Sanchez when the Jets were good his first couple years in the pros, he quarterbacked them to two AFC title games. The Rams do not have a QB on their roster with that kind of pedidgree. If I couldn’t pry Sanchez away then I’d certainly talk to them about Nick Foles or Matt Barkley.
Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantBTW I think Kellen Clemens wins that game last night.
Not saying he’s a star QB but he’s better than Hill.Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantI think the loss totally falls on Shaun Hill’s shoulders. He was the big difference between winning and losing.
The Defense busted its asses to keep the Rams in the game and Hill did his best Tony Banks impression and did nothing.Team needs a legit star QB and until they have that they will always be not good enough.
Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantDumb move on the part of the officials. They have to be aware that they cannot be seen as looking to be partial to either team.
Just plain stupid on their part and that is not surprising considering the stupid things I’ve seen out of game officials this season.
Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipant7 and 7 that is what this game means
Cardinals are not the same team the Rams faced just a few short weeks ago. Still very good on Defense but not the same team on offense. Too bad this game isn’t being played on Sunday instead of Thursday because, we’d have a better understanding of just how far the Rams have come in a month’s time. The shortened week is going to have an effect on the game. I just hope it is a positive for the Rams.
As you may recall the Rams were leading the in the last game until Austin Davis had a melt down and thanks to a pick six and then a fumble by Davis which was scored as a TD allowed the Cardinals to score three TDs in about 4 minutes time and put the game away.
Hopefully, having Hill in there at QB means we are not going to see the same kind of mental blunders Davis committed which beat the Rams in the last game between these two teams.
Rams are a young team on defense. They have really come together as a defense the past few weeks. Hopefully their youth will play to their advantage on this short week. If they can muster up the intensity and ferocity they have played with versus the Raiders and Redskins then the Cardinals may be in some trouble.
The Rams offense has been clicking on all cylinders as well. They have been very well balanced and the offensive line has played great. If they Rams can run the football effectively and hit on some big pass plays this could be their game to win. The Rams however cannot afford turnovers versus the Cardinals.
What does 7 and 7 mean to the Rams? It means two more wins and they have a winning season. The Rams may not make it to the playoffs at 9-7 but wouldn’t it be great for them to go into Seattle the last weekend of the season and beat them in their own stadium? Just might be the signal that in 2015 teams like Seattle and San Francisco and Arizona will not be guaranteed a top spot in the NFC West. The new kingpin just might very well be the Rams.

December 2, 2014 at 12:39 pm in reply to: The fact that Rams seldom win in DC makes this a big game. #12857GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantYes, this game is key. If the Rams can win in DC they have a real good shot at running the table.

December 1, 2014 at 6:06 pm in reply to: controversy: a few fans dropping the Rams because of the WRs's Ferguson gesture #12813GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantI was fine with what the five players did. And the league found no fault with it either. So lah dee dah!
Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantSo, we all agree, that if the price is right we’d definitely take a flyer on RGIII. I think any team who brings him in is going to make it clear to him that he’s a project and he needs to prove himself and that he can work at his craft, learn what it takes to be a good NFL QB and keep his mouth shut.
Grits
GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantWow, someone should tell Teddy Bruski that Mason already had his 1st 100 yard rushing day versus the Broncos two weeks ago.
I take no team for granted and the Raiders, besides their victory over the Chiefs were close a few other games prior to that.
Rams have to play their “A” game on Sunday and execute to their best to beat the Raiders otherwise Oakland could steal one from them. We cannot afford to see the Rams thinking about what might have been versus the Chargers last Sunday and come out flat versus the Raiders. Rams need desperately to get to 5 wins here on the season.
