Either way, I am annoyed by this week’s developments with the Rams.

Overall said it didn’t matter who was returning, blocking was issue.

The Rams STs gave up an onside kick and got burned on but two fake punts, and McVay also happens to mention that the blocking on returns was awful. Just spitballing here, but I’m gonna say that the head coach is pretty angry about the overall performance of the special teams unit.

I dislike this trade, I dislike it a lot.

Watching this video and Derrick Henry makes me believe that sometimes drafting a RB early is justifiable. Context helps, of course but if a RB can change a game like these guys and there is nobody quite as impactful available I am onboard with taking a RB early. Yes, I realize that good RBs can be found anywhere, still doesn’t make me change my mind though.

I spent the first quarter saying “Here we go again! I told you so!” Although I was by myself, so nobody heard me.

Glad the Rams were able to capitalize on the mistakes made by a shaky team. Once the Giants went to their two-minute offense late in the first half it seemed like the Rams defense knew what was coming on nearly every down.

I was cheering for the Cardinals today. I’m already conceding the division to Arizona and am therefore resigned to the Rams playing for a WC. So I want to see any threats to a Rams WC lose as many games as possible. Plus I hate the Niners like I hate cold winters.

I was impressed with SF despite the loss.

Kupp looked like his shoulder was hurting at the end of the game. I’ve yet to see anything on that though.

Let’s be honest, teams have moved the chains on them this year.

The Bears and Colts blew it in the red zone, but moved all day. Brady had 432 yards against them.

They’ve held when they had to, but to do need to tighten up.

It seems like a matter of time before this comes back to bite the Rams on the butt. I thought for sure that Buccaneers offense would take it to the Rams D for a big win. Wouldn’t surprise me to see Murray, Hopkins and Green have big days this week. I’m still not sold on the run defense either.

I’m going to enjoy this win for awhile before I start worrying about the gazillion points that I think Tom Brady is going to hang on this defense next week.

I love Cooper Kupp. Hope he can stay healthy.

Loved Stafford. Loved Kupp, but his toughness after the catch is a double edged sword as I worry about his durability. That Woods grab and toe tap was beautiful. The offensive line looked better than I thought they would in pass protection, but the lack of run game early on worries me.

I was unimpressed with the defense for most of the game. I realize that they only gave up 14 points, but they weren’t facing Peyton Manning in his prime. Hopefully they get better against the run and force more three-and-outs as the season progresses.

Happy for the win and encouraged by Stafford’s debut.

Even with the positive reports, I’m still skeptical that Jacob Harris can make a quick transition from WR at UCF to TE in the NFL. I don’t see that as an easy switch for a rookie. His physical attributes sure are exciting though, but I’m curious as to why he wasn’t more of a contributor to his college offense. I would have bet anything that Hopkins would be getting more reps than Harris this year. Intrigued to see how things pan out.

I’ve been uneasy about the Rams interior offensive line since they made Atwell their second round pick. This camp report about Allen switching it at C doesn’t do anything ease my concerns. Hopefully I’m overreacting and it’s just the Rams trying different combinations for the sake of being prudent.

Speaking only for myself, I will remain fixated on the offensive line until there isn’t a reason to be. I have no idea who the LOT of the future is. Similarly, I don’t know who the centre of the present or the future is. I can’t even wrap my head around what happens if some guys leave in free agency. Without a first round pick, I don’t see the Rams finding their LOT of the future in next year’s draft, but what do I know. The second round can be a good place to find guys for the interior offensive line though.

It’s never too early to talk about the draft, BTW.

I love Willem Dafoe. The first two movies in which I saw him perform were Streets of Fire and To Live in Die in LA. Neither were particularly great movies, but I remember thinking that he is amazing at playing a villain. Platoon was the first movie that saw him playing a “good guy.” That is when I really appreciated what a great actor he is. There were several movies on that timeline that I still need to see. There were also many Dafoe movies that I have seen that were not included. I still want to see The Lighthouse.

The thing that I liked best of all about that video is that Dafoe seems like a genuinely nice person.

That article is an excellent recap. Yet it didn’t make me feel any better about the Rams passing on some talented centres in the 2nd and 3rd round.

Late round and UDFA safeties have a decent track record of making the Rams roster. Given that Johnson’s departure leaves a hole, Warner has a good chance of sticking with the team. The UDFA safety out of Pittsburgh ran a 4.85 40. I doubt he makes it.
